Isaac was great and communicated well! We had a last minute outing to see some family and didn’t want to leave Jolie for 8 hours. Isaac kept her great company and sent lots of pictures so we knew she was happy while we were out!

About: Hi, I’m Daniel! I live in Summit, NJ and have over 8 years of fostering experience with more than 10 dogs of all breeds and ages across the NY/NJ area. I’m a reliable, trusted dog lover who simply enjoys spending time with my favorite animals. I’m currently taking a break from my career in management consulting and have a fully flexible schedule. Pet care is the perfect way for me to spend my time doing something I love; staying active and being around dogs every day. In my clients home, I follow your house rules (e.g., double check doors and leashes, and send photo updates after every visit). Having fostered dogs with all kinds of personalities, I adapt easily to whatever keeps your pup comfortable.

About: I have owned dogs my entire life and absolutely adore them. We lost our two babies within months of each other and I miss them terribly. I would love to spend some time with other doggies. I work part-time so have a lot of flexibility. I’m happy to drop in or take your dog(s) for a walk. I’m happy to also just hang out with them. Unfortunately my two doggies are no longer with me but I miss taking care of a dog so I would love to be able to help someone out.

Richie is great. I have booked his services a couple of times to visit our home to take care of our dog Pepper. Richie is reliable, and stays in communication by sending me photos and texts on each visit. Ensured Pepper was fed, had plenty of water, gave treats, and allergy medication. It gives us peace of mind that Pepper is well taken care of while we are away. Also, Richie brought in our mail and packages. If you're looking for someone to care for your furry family member, consider Richie.

About: I have been taking care of and pet sitting animals, whether it be my own, my family’s or friends basically my whole life. More recently, I have been involved with The Seeing Eye since 2018, as a puppy sitter as well as a volunteer Puppy Raiser, and I have been bathing and grooming dogs professionally since early 2021, working with little puppies for their first grooms all the way up to senior dogs who need a little more love and patience during the grooming process. I have several years of experience working with puppies on basic obedience, and potty training. In addition, I have a 6 year old german shepherd who I have raised and trained myself who I love with my whole heart. I currently work 5 days a week as a groomer, however my schedule can be flexible. I am available most nights after 6 pm and all day Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I do not pet sit in my own home, as I live in a small apartment. However, I would be more than happy to stay over a clients home if needed!

I have my own pets whom are all rescues that I love so much. I only work nights on the weekends. I would love to have something to do involving animals during the days while my kids are in school. Fenced yard. Animal lover home. I also have friendly pets to give your fur baby some companionship while over but also have enough space if that’s not what they like.

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for dogs, cats, horses and more through pet sitting, dog walking, and volunteering as an Animal Therapy Assistant. I’ve worked with a variety of pets, maintained regular communication with owners, and always make sure animals are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’m dependable, organized, and patient, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. My experience as a nanny, camp coach, and small business owner has strengthened my responsibility, communication, and ability to handle different situations with confidence. I’ll care for your pet with the same attention and love I would give my own. I’m a college student home for the summer, which gives me a flexible schedule for pet care. I occasionally babysit and pet sit, but I have plenty of availability for drop-in visits, dog walking, and overnight care. I also care for my own dog, Lola, every day, so I’m used to maintaining a consistent routine and making sure pets get the attention, exercise, and affection they need. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I understand that every pet has their own routine, personality, and needs, so I’ll follow your instructions carefully to help them feel secure while you’re away. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or stopping by for visits, I’ll provide plenty of attention, playtime, fresh water, meals, and updates so you can have peace of mind. I treat every pet with the same love and care that I give my own dog, Lola.

I enjoy caring for dogs of all ages and stages and engaging with them in their environment. Safety is my number one priority during walks or in home visits. I work 9-5 Monday through Friday. I am able to visit with and walk your pet in the evenings during the week. I have availability on the weekends as well. Trust and reliability are very important. About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was 10 years old. I started dog sitting for my neighbor and fell in love with dog sitting/dog walking. I love being around dogs & being able to care for them. I am working full-time Monday through Thursday and I am pretty flexible to take care of your pets on the weekends. I volunteer as an EMT on the weekends but I am able to work around that schedule. I’ve had a dog ever since I was born. When I was born, my parents had a yellow lab named Hudson who I absolutely adored. I enjoyed feeding him, playing with him, and enjoyed walking him (with some help). Shortly after Hudson passed, we got Roxy - our 16 year old cockapoo who we recently had to put down. Ever since Roxy was a puppy, I enjoyed taking walks with her, playing with her, and relaxing with her. She was my best friend and I was usually the person who was in charge of taking her out for walks and to go to the bathroom.

Paul was absolutely wonderful with Beau. You can tell immediately that he genuinely loves animals and treats them like his own. He was communicative, reliable, kind, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving my puppy in his care. Beau adored him, and I could tell he was well cared for and happy when I got home. I would recommend him to anyone… although part of me wants to keep him a secret for myself 😂 Thank you again, Paul!

Sheila was a life saver for me when I needed to find someone to check on my dogs during the day while at the office. Keanu and Wiley don’t like just anyone but they liked her immediately. Sheila was shrewd enough to ask me if she had to worry about either of the dogs escaping when she comes in, and she was right to ask because my girl Wiley will sometimes be in the mood for a freedom run achieved by escaping between someone’s legs if they hangout with the door open too long! Very professional, great to work with

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Berkeley Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Berkeley Heights with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
