About: I’m a student looking to help out with some local pet care and housesitting while I'm Stanford student for pet care! home for the summer. I’m vegan, I live alone, and I genuinely love animals and have a lot of flexibility with my schedule right now, so I'm around to keep your pets company, stick to their regular routines, daily walks, and make sure everything is taken care of. I'll always send plenty of photo updates too so you know they're doing great. I've taken care of dogs and cats for family and friends over the last couple of years, so I'm super comfortable handling feedings, walks, and overnight stays! I’m home for the summer and my schedule is incredibly open and flexible right now. Since I don't work a typical 9-to-5, I have plenty of free time during the week and on weekends to hang out with your pets, stick to their routines, and make sure they're taken care of. Safety is the main thing for me. I always double-check locks and gates, follow whatever feeding or walking instructions you leave, and keep a close eye on them. I've watched dogs and cats for family and friends for the past two years, so I know how to keep everything clean and safe.
“We are always happy to trust our cat to Esmeralda. It’s important to us that Kuzya feels comfortable around her and doesn’t mind to interact with her. Esmeralda is reliable and carefully follows all our instructions!”

About: My greatest concern when it comes to working with Rover.com is that you, your pet, and myself all have an awesome and positive relationship. If we aren't a good fit, then the money isn't worth it! I am a local artisan with a flexible schedule and experience pet sitting who finds it rewarding to care for animals while earning some extra income. Every pet deserve's loves and attention when their human family is away. That's why I only take care of one dog/cat/family at a time. This ensures that there's no scheduling difficulties and your furry friend is well cared for. I’m always excited to meet new friends so drop me a line if you need some time. Thanks for visiting my profile :) : Im a studio artist and work from home so I have plenty of time to help care for your fuzzy friends, whether its a drop in visit a walk or something else, I’d love to meet you and your pup :) I have a fenced yard a stay near the bay trail so getting outdoors is very easy. I prefer not to take clients dogs to dog parks for safety reasons but walks and attention are certainly part of the experience.

“Taryn was awesome! We were traveling to Pescadero for the day, with my daughter, son in-law and grandpuppies, but didn't want to leave them in the car while we had lunch and walked the town. Taryn met us at the restaurant and took the dogs to a nearby play area. She was on time, professional, and so caring with the pups. There human mommy was nervous to leave them, but felt comfortable with Taryn. We had a relaxing lunch, and the pooches came back happy and tired! Thanks Taryn for your professionalism, it added so much to our special day.”
About: I love dogs, but can't have any of my own. I took 5 years of dog care and training classes at the 4-H club and have cared for and groomed them at every opportunity since then. I am mostly available to do dog walking and feed your pet, but I would consider overnight stays if I am needed. I can't wait to hear from you! Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I structure my days with regular walking, feeding, and check-in windows, and I’m used to building my schedule around animals’ needs rather than squeezing them in. Because I already care for my own dog and take on Rover bookings, things like timely walks, consistent routines, play, and attention are part of my normal day, not an interruption. I’m reliable with schedules and flexible enough to adjust when a pet needs a little extra time or care. I care for pets by following their usual routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure. Most of my bookings are drop-in visits and walks rather than overnights. During visits, I handle feeding, fresh water, walks or litter care, playtime, and light grooming as needed—making sure pets get real attention, not just a quick check-in. I’m respectful of your home and attentive to your pet’s individual needs, and I always aim to make visits feel calm, familiar, and comforting. I share thoughtful updates so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Dog Sitter Review: Exceptional Care and Attention! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of using John for the second time, and once again, he exceeded all my expectations! This time, he took care of not just my resident dog but also my foster puppy, and I couldn't be more grateful for his dedication and compassion. It was clear that John has a genuine love for animals. He provided both dogs with plenty of attention, playtime, and care, ensuring they felt comfortable and happy during my absence. His ability to manage the needs of both my resident dog and a young, energetic puppy was impressive, and it gave me peace of mind knowing they were in such capable hands. What truly stood out this time was the extra effort he put into making my home feel welcoming upon my return. Not only did he take great care of my dogs, but he also went above and beyond by cleaning my apartment and even disposing of my trash! It’s those little touches that show how much he cares about his clients and their homes. I cannot recommend John enough! His professionalism, attentiveness, and kindness make him an outstanding choice for pet care. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pets like family and ensure your home is well taken care of, look no further. I will definitely be using his services again in the future! Thank you,John, for all that you do!”

“I'm so glad we found Fabiola, she was a wonderful caretaker to our rabbits. She came over before our trip to make sure she understood what was necessary and was communicative throughout. She was very thorough, leaving their space very clean. She was also kind and we will definitely book her again!”

“Chelsea is AMAZING! She is so great with our cats—they love her and always come out to greet her despite being very shy. She also accommodated us over a holiday weekend last minute which we will forever be grateful for. She is very communicative, attentive, and considerate. Could not recommend more!”

“Evan was great! He took great care of our 3 fur babies. I felt totally at ease and knew that I could trust him to be there for my dogs when they needed to be cared for. He has been easy to communicate with and reliable!”
About: My experience is primarily with cats and dogs (in particular pit bulls and northern breeds including huskies), and aquariums (fresh, salt and reef), although I am happy to discuss sitting for households that include exotics such as reptiles or small pets. I am comfortable with high medical needs or multi-pet households due to my previous experience with multiple-cat homes and as an owner of two dogs and a cat myself. I only care for pets who are able to remain in their home environment (housesitting) because I feel that maintaining their usual routines and experience as much as possible when their humans are gone is critical to minimizing their stress. I work remotely as a freelancer, and during housesits, will not leave your pets alone except for essential errands lasting no more than two hours at a time, once a day. (For example, medical or dental appointments, checking on my own home and pets, running errands). For pets who suffer from separation anxiety, I may be able to offer continuous 24/7 coverage but this will need to be discussed. I feel that it's very important that client and sitter are a good fit for each other. While I am happy to work with households containing reactive pets or complex routines such as rotating dogs who do not always get along, I cannot accept jobs involving aggressive animals or those with a bite history. Pre-booking meet and greets are critical to making sure that we are on the same page and that both you and I have an understanding of what your pet's routine should be while you are gone. I provide daily updates via text, email, or messenger, and am available via phone or text 24/7 when you are away. For routine inquiries, please be aware that I do not check my messages between 9PM-8AM Pacific time.
About: I’m a dog lover who’s all about giving your pup lots of love, play, and care while you’re away. I live in an apartment building right near tons of green spaces and parks, so there’s always a great spot nearby for walks or playtime. I’ve got experience training puppies and I’m great with senior dogs who need a little extra TLC. Every dog gets plenty of attention, belly rubs, and walks tailored to their energy and personality. I’m currently taking some time off, so I have plenty of free time every day to give your pup all the attention and playtime they need. Whether it’s long walks, fun games at the park, or just cuddling around the apartment, I’m here to keep your furry friend happy and active throughout the day. Your dog won’t feel lonely or bored when they’re with me and my rescue pup Zoë! I provide loving, personalized care whether your pet stays with me or I visit them at home. In my home, your dog will enjoy a safe, cozy environment with plenty of playtime and walks around nearby parks. For in-home visits, I stick to your pet’s usual routine to keep them comfortable and happy, including feeding, potty breaks,

About: I have over 15 years of experience pet sitting for cats and caring for dogs for friends, family, and extended networks. I grew up with two Dalmatians and a chocolate Labrador, so I’m very comfortable with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I also volunteered for 7 years at the Humane Society SPCA, where I worked hands-on with dogs, including training and behavior support. Through this experience, I’ve developed confidence handling a wide range of personalities—from high-energy dogs to more anxious or sensitive pets. I currently have a 9-year-old black cat named Peter, and I’m especially skilled with cats. I understand their behavior, respect their boundaries, and know how to build trust—even with shy or more reserved cats. I’m reliable, attentive, and treat every pet like my own. I’m happy to follow routines closely and ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Flexible schedule with availability weekdays and weekends for drop-ins and walks. I prioritize consistency, follow routines closely, and ensure reliable, attentive care for your pet. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bellvale. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
