“Katelyn is great! Our Morkie 'Ruby' warmed up to her on their first meet up. Being away from "our daughter" was anxiety-making, we're rarely apart. Katelyn made sure we saw daily photos, and ensured us that Ruby was well taken care of, which was such a relief! Katelyn is our Go-To Pet Sitter!!!”

“Charles was such a sweetheart the entire process! I got regular check-ins and my dog and cat were happy to meet him and well taken care of while I was away. Thanks again for all your help!”

“Erin was great with my high energy dog, Bodie. He enjoys her mid-day visits and the positive attention. She was flexible with a last minute booking when my other sitter had an emergency pop up and is awesome to work with.”

“Shirley is the one of our greatest finds! Our pets don't even miss us because she takes such good care of our pets. She brings us such comfort and peace of mind when we're away. We know our pets are in the best possible care!”

About: I have loved animals all my life and have a genuine rapport with them. My clients become friends and keep me as their most trusted sitter for years. I would love to help you with your furry loved ones too! I am a retired Physical Therapist Assistant and after taking care of people for years now I really want to just take care of animals. They calm my soul and fill my heart with their unconditional love. I enjoy taking doggies for walks, or sitting with a kitty on my lap. My best memories involve somebody with four legs! ;o) I will stay in your home and care for all your needs while I am there. All pet care needs as well as watering plants, mail/package collecting, home security, whatever needs attention. I will leave your home clean and well respected. I have never had a dissatisfied client, and my integrity is one thing I bring with me everywhere I go.
“Kala went above and beyond to take excellent care of our boys while we were on a long trip. She took her time with visits and gave lots to of TLC to all the animals in our house. Even though we were thousands of miles away and 7 hrs ahead I felt such peace knowing Kala was giving her best to our furbabies! Beyond grateful for you Kala! Thank you so much!!”

“I was very happy with Athena's service. She did a great job communicating her visits and we loved the photos. Would recommend her to others and would definitely book with her again.”

“Kaia was a great pet sitter! She was quick to respond and sent so many photos and videos, along with great, detailed reports each visit. I would highly recommend Kaia and will be using her again in the future!”

“Nina was fantastic! She sent lots of pictures to keep us in the loop and assure us our fur babies were doing well. She was thorough and detailed in texts and notes. She braved the many growls and evil eyes from our cats and was very patient and kind with all 4 of our pets. Isabelle and Bosco look forward to having Nina back again! Fiona and Grace will grow to love her too when they realize how much they need her for their food ;) Thanks Nina!”

“Ashley always does such a great job with my girls!! She truly cares about each of their unique needs and communicates so well! We feel very lucky to have found Ashley!”

“The absolute sweetest, took such great care of our cats while we were away last minute! Great communication and leaves a ton of photos and notes for us everyday. Would highly recommend 💕”

About: Always been an animal lover! I treat every pet as if they were my own. I don’t have any pets of my own currently, but I’ve housesit for all my friends dogs and cats for the last 4 years, including one blind husky. I’ve always been there for my friends if their pup needs a quick walk or cat needs attention for a few hours. When I had my first puppy, I was able to teach her all the tricks from sit, lie down, stay, and roll over. Hi! I work from home on Mondays and Fridays. So extended weekends are easy if you need 24 hr care. Tues-Thurs are fine as long as pet can stay alone for a minimum of 6 hrs. Please note, 20+ hour care will increase price of stay. Instructions for each pet need to be clear and preferably written for first time stays. I will provide fun and entertainment for the pet while also keeping them as safe as possible in the client home. I know all pets personalities are different so I’m willing to work with the pet until it is comfortable with me and we can be best friends :)

“Maria was AMAZING, took great care of our two beloved dogs. Bella and Brady were let out, fed, and played with, over the Christmas season which was a huge blessing. Maria was friendly, professional, and a caring dog sitter. 10/10 would recommend and rebook with her. Thank you so much Maria!”

“Another great experience with Angelo. I feel my girls are in good hands while we're away. We were delayed a day returning home and he was very helpful in adding one more day to their care since we wouldn't be home on time. Easy to work with and great with our kitties.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Noelani! She took the best care of our cat Waffles while we were away for a week. Waffles is super social and loves human company, and Noelani went above and beyond - spending quality time with him, sending us thoughtful updates with pictures and videos, and giving him all the snuggles and lap time he loves. We told her he’s a fan of chin scratches, brushing, and Churu treats - and she made sure he got all that and more. Seeing photos of him happily curled up on her lap, kneading and purring, made us feel so at ease. She even visited on his birthday and brought him a special treat. We were blown away by her thoughtfulness. It was such a relief knowing Waffles was in kind, capable, cat-loving hands. We came home to a happy, relaxed kitty - and we feel so lucky to have found Noelani. Waffles can’t wait to hang out with her again!”

About: I’ve mainly worked with local neighbors and family members in volunteer pet care work including dog walks, dog-sitting, and dog hygiene. I love interacting and playing with all kinds of animals. I ensure all your needs are met with taking care of your beloved animal prior to any service and maintain constant communication with clients. I work mainly remote and have to travel sometimes for work. I can assist with daily walks, in-home (mine or yours) boarding, and pet hygiene activities (pressing teeth and clipping nails). When caring for pets, I ensure they have their own bed and place of rest within my home. In addition, I take my own animals for at least two walks per day and provide them nutritional supplements for breed-specific issues. My animals and those I serve will be taken on walks, provided food (client-provided) and water, house in client-provided cages if deemed applicable, and ensure food regimens and supplement/medication-regimen is adhered to.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Belle Isle. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
