“Fantastic! Jennifer showed my 12 year old sheltie so much love . She also administered his insulin and his eye drops. She visited my house twice a day to feed & walk him. Took pics and videos and sent them to me. I'm So happy I found a great sitter.”

“Halee is kind, communicative, attentive and great with our furry crew of one pup and three cats. She listens to our needs for our feeding routine and is just a joy to be around.”

“Joy is such a wonderful soul. She will be my go to person when available. She is accommodating and professional. I only wanted my fur baby to be fed and she did that and also cleaned his litter box and showed him love. Joy went above and beyond. Thank you”

“Morgan was amazing with all 3 of my dogs. We have a hard time finding someone that will be able to coax my senior dog out of the house to potty. Morgan did in record timing! We we so happy to have found Morgan.”

“Alexa is the best! We have Alexa come for dog walks with our 4month old Rhodesian Ridgeback on days that we are at work. She takes her on walks, plays with her & feeds her. Alexa is prompt, easy to communicate with and is amazing with our Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy! She sends picture updates during each visit and has a true passion for animals! I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Becca is warm and responsible and very, very professional. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with her and I’m really grateful that we connected on Rover. Thank you, Becca, for taking such good care of our little one!”

About: I have had a strong care for animals ever since I was young, whether they were my own or not. I have had pets since I was 5 and have dog / cat sat for 3+ years now: animals with medication needs, young babies, or even senior pups, are all welcome by me and are never seen as a hassle :) My goal is to build trust in your pet and love them as my own. I understand that a safe comfortable environment is a must for your fur baby! I am an upcoming college student who just graduated from high school. I plan on attending school in the fall, so my summer will be free! i’m available for drop ins, house sitting, walks, and doggy baths! Following instructions that accommodate the owners pet has never been an issue for me. I have dog and cat sat many times and know everyone has their own parenting preferences; whether that be crating a dog at night, timely feedings, or medications needed. I strive to care for your animals as if they are my own :)
“Shea was so awesome and such a lifesaver for us for our dog when we went on vacation this summer! I really wanted her to stay home since she's 8 and is more comfortable in her own environment. Shea was exactly who we needed! She was great with our dog and relayed images and check-ins with us regularly which I appreciated. She took the time to schedule in affection every day with our dog which is huge for our boxer mix. Such a nice sitter; she even helped me with some vegetables that were fruiting while we were gone which was so thoughtful! We will definitely be using Shea for all of our future dogsitting needs.”

“I will definitely book with Lori again next time we need a sitter for Archie and Buoy. I had a sitter lined up that backed out at the last minute and Lori stepped right in as soon as I requested services. She and her daughters were at my home less than 30 minutes later to meet us and go over everything for the drop ins. She sent great photos and both my crazy dogs looked very happy. She even cleaned up a pile of cardboard they decided to destroy for fun. Highly recommend Lori and her daughters!”

“Love Caryna! She sent me photos everyday of my dogs while I was away! She loves my dogs and they love her... I wouldn’t want anyone else to watch my dogs when me and my fiancé are away”

About: I’ve learned and cared for many different kinds of animals since I was a small child, but mainly cats! From cats and dogs to turtles, lizards, and fish, I’ve spent my whole life loving and caring for animals and learning their behaviors. I’ve spent time with puppies and kittens, administering oral and injection medications, dealing with seniors, and of course playtime. I have plenty of knowledge and skill to love and take care of your pet! I am currently an SSC student looking to make rover my part time job. As of right now I am available nearly every day weekly. Each animal has a place in my heart and I want to treat them with the utmost respect! I spend lots of time giving my animals plenty of affection and playtime! With instructions on your pets schedule and needs I will make sure you and your pet are comfortable and at ease with me, as if they were my own.

About: As an animal lover and devoted dog mom, I know that our pets are family. I don’t see pet care as just a job—I genuinely care for every pet as if they were my own. I take the time to learn their routines, personalities, and all the little things that help them feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. Whether they need playtime, cuddles, medication, potty breaks, or simply a calm and caring presence, I strive to give them the same love and attention I give my own babies. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your fur-babies in someone else’s care. My goal is simple: to give you peace of mind and your pet a new friend they can feel happy and safe with until you’re home again. I have a flexible corporate schedule that keeps me on the road throughout the day, making it easy to fit pet care into my routine. You can expect reliable communication, lots of photos and updates, and a sitter who genuinely treats your pets like family. Whether it’s a quick potty break, a walk, or some extra snuggles, I’m committed to making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away.

“We are so grateful she was able to do a drop-in for us on such short notice. From the beginning, her communication was excellent and she kept us updated the entire time with lots of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. She handled our Doberman’s energy so well and truly went above and beyond during the visit. It was clear she was patient, attentive, and genuinely cared. We felt completely comfortable knowing our girl was in such good hands. We will absolutely be booking with her again! ❤️”

“Gaby is excellent! Gaby kept us informed about our dog in every visit. She was always on time. Dog was not eating first two days and she even offered to prepare chicken for him. I will definitely use her services again and recommend her 100%”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats my entire life, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. Over the past three years, I’ve been pet sitting on the side, gaining hands-on experience with pets of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I’m especially attentive to each pet’s individual needs and understand how important routines, patience, and comfort are—especially for senior dogs who may need extra care, slower walks, medication reminders, or additional attention. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always aim to make them feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. 🐶🐱💕 A typical day in my home includes plenty of structure, care, and attention to your pet’s individual needs. In the morning, pets are taken out for a potty break and walk, followed by breakfast according to their regular feeding schedule. Throughout the day, I provide additional potty breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of attention to keep them comfortable and engaged. If your pet requires medication, I carefully follow all instructions and make sure it’s given on time. In the evening, pets enjoy another walk, dinner, and wind-down time before bedtime. I always do my best to stick closely to your pet’s usual routine so they feel safe, relaxed, and at home while staying with me. 🐶🐱 My home provides a safe, stable, and comfortable environment for pets. We have a large, unfenced backyard where dogs can enjoy supervised outdoor time and exercise. Safety is a top priority in our household—we have secure locks on all entry points, cameras surrounding the property for added security, and HOA monitoring in the area for extra peace of mind. We also have children in the home who are familiar and gentle with animals, always supervised and respectful of each pet’s space and comfort. Overall, I aim to create a calm, secure setting where pets can feel relaxed, cared for, and at home while staying with me

“Caitlin is wonderful. We were stranded out of town for 48 extra hours on our trip and she stepped right up, taking great care of our dog on those unexpected days. We always have a little anxiety leaving our elder dog and then to have extra days on top - but Caitlin communicates with each visit and provides photos so we can see our old girl is doing just fine. Thank you!!”

“Evelyn is awesome with my Lollie! She is caring, smart, and very attentive to keep communication constant and clear. Evelyn will be watching Lollie all of next week and I couldn’t feel more confident!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Beck Hammock
Becca was absolutely amazing with our two kitties! They can both be shy, but they very quickly warmed up to her. Everything was taken care of perfectly and she even gave our fussy cat her medication :). Throughout our whole trip, we got plenty of pictures and videos, and general updates on the cats. Becca even went above expectations to keep the house tidied up and took our trash out, and brought our mail inside. The kitties and I both know they were in great hands while we were away, and received all the love and attention they could get :)

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
