“Audry is a cat whisperer. She convince my shy girl to be her buddy, and she convinced my cat who hides at the sight of new people, to let her pet him. She sent great pics and detailed reports on my fur baby antics. I will definitely request her again.”

“Milena was absolutely amazing! She was great at communicating and being patient with my babies! I have one dog that can be difficult at times so she updated me when things were rocky and didn't give up on him. I'll definitely be re-booking with her!”

About: Hi! I am an animal connoisseur with years of hands on experience. I grew up surrounded by many animals (hedgehogs, goats, pigs, snakes, cats, dogs, rabbits… you name it!) I’ve fostered for years, and volunteered at the Isle of Wight County Animal Shelter. I have pet sat for neighbors as well. I can bottle-feed, and administer oral and topical medications. Seniors or young animals alike are welcome ☺️ I’d love to care for your baby! I’m a teacher who works full-time. Because of that, I’m available on weekdays after 4pm, and available all day on the weekends. Starting June 6th (summer vacay, yay!) I will be available everyday! I care for every pet in their home with close attention to their usual routine to keep things as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, playtime, litter box or potty needs, and medication if needed. Affection and companionship too, of course!
“We have used Rachel’s services a few times this year and would gladly do so again. She is thorough, reliable, and extremely sweet! We appreciate you so much Rachel! Thank you!”

“DeHaven and Ashlee are Wonderful!!🤩 This was the first time I have left my kiddos with someone other than family. Naturally, I was a little anxious at the thought of arranging it, but that quickly changed once I met them. They took the time to do a meet and greet, and I was instantly confident in my choice and felt totally at peace. They are great with communicating, wonderful with animals (to include the outdoor feathered ones), went above and beyond and even sent pics to us while we were gone!! I just can’t say enough great things about them and the whole experience!! Will definitely use them again!! Thank you Ashlee!!😊”

About: I love all animals no matter the kind! They will be treated as if they were my own (and mine are VERY spoiled). You can guarantee your pets will be well taken care of with me ☺️ I do work full time but I can drop in on the weekdays, in the morning and evenings. On the weekends, I am free majority of the day to come spend time with your pet! I can take care of your pet in any way you need me to. I am good with giving medicines and make sure your pet is safe and taken care of and where they need to be!

“Christine was very nice & caring with my boy simba! She updated me regularly & even sent pictures & videos. Simba had a great time in her care & I will definitely be booking again for future trips!”

“Connor was AWESOME. He makes a wonderful impression when you meet him. You just know he’s someone to fully rely on. He went over and above for me and I couldn’t be happier with how he performed when I left my cats in his care.”

About: I have taken care of huskies and neighbors dogs when I was younger and in my parents house. Now that I have my own home and backyard, I want to continue taking care of dogs, even if it's just for a couple of days! I have been a dog walker for several people around the Newport News area. I'm totally dedicated on the weekends! Available all day long! Monday through Friday, I work full time, working from 8-3:30. I'm available after 3:30 to pet sit, walk dogs, or take care of your pet. I have a fenced yard and a loving little white dog that can be your dogs companion during their stay! During the weekend, I am completely dedicated to pet sitting!
About: I had a dog as a child, loved to help care for her. I don’t own a dog currently, but I do help out with family members dogs on occasion! I work full time, this is more of a weekend job. I could do some evenings after 645pm or early mornings (6 to 7 am) on weekdays. I own two cats, a 10 month old and a 7 year old. Both have different needs and activity levels I try to accommodate. Always make sure they are safe and well attended to.
About: Animals have always been a constant part of my life. I grew up in a home where there were always dogs and cats around, caring for them wasn’t just a responsibility, it was part of daily life. Over the years, I have personally raised and cared for three dogs of my own, each with different personalities and needs, which taught me patience, structure, and how to connect with animals on an individual level. Most recently, I adopted another dog into the family, adding even more joy and playful to the house. From energetic puppies to gentle seniors, I have experienced it all training, playtime, feeding routines, crate care, walks, and of course, lots of cuddles. Whether your pet is shy or social, active or relaxed, we understand how to make them feel safe, loved, and at home. I have a partner who has been pet sitting for her friends and co-workers last 4 years. I work at shipyard, but my work is pretty flexible that I can check out our dogs or any other pet frequently to make sure they receive enough attention love and most importantly care. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. In my home, I provide a calm and secure environment where dogs can relax and be themselves. I have a fully fenced big yard for safe outdoor play, and I supervise all interactions to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible — from feeding schedules to crate preferences and bedtime habits — so they feel right at home. I never use harsh corrections; instead, I rely on positive reinforcement, patience, and gentle guidance. I also keep my home clean, pet-proofed, and free of anything unsafe. Whether your dog is playful, shy, or somewhere in between, we make sure they always feel safe, respect. I will keep sending regular updates and pictures or videos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands

About: I have grown up with pets my whole life and love caring for them! I have specific experience with dogs and training them. I understand that pets are more than just animals and are a special part of your family. I have also volunteered with the SPCA so I know how to care for rescues as well! I am very reliable and organized and would love to care for your fur baby! I’m currently on summer break so I am able to commit fully to caring for your pet! I’d to take them on walks, play with them, and spend quality time with them as much as needed! I currently live in an apartment with my husband so we would be able to give them full one on one attention. We live in a very safe private neighborhood with lots of grassy areas to ensure their comfort.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Battery Park
A great experience again! If I could give ten stars ….. I would. Audrey is wonderful with my kitties. One of mine went missing the day before the reservation and since Audrey lives near, I asked her to keep an eye out. She went above and beyond, helped by posting on lost pets sites, and she was reaching out to the community to help me find live traps. I found the kitty before I went out of town (thank goodness), but only a true animal lover would dive in and help like that! Thank you for your help, and taking wonderful care of my babies while I am away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,160 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Battery Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Battery Park. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
