“Thank you so much Amy! Harley was happy to see us when we arrived home, but was so happy you came to see him in the day. It was so reassuring knowing he was being taken care of while we were out.”

“We’re so thankful for Simone’s daily drop ins this past month! She has been flexible, responsive, and incredibly thoughtful while caring for our dogs. Huge plus is she takes play time seriously which our blue heeler loves! We highly recommend Simone to anyone looking for an awesome and trustworthy sitter.”

“Kim was fantastic with our girls. She was timely, great communication, kept us engaged and happy with awesome photos of Happy Puppies. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect person to watch Ladybug & Ollie. ❤️. We will definitely be rebooking”

“Lauren has saved my behind more than one time. I have never laid eyes on her, but I trust her implicitly to watch over my home and my cat. She has never let me down.”

About: I enjoy walks and being outdoors as much as any dog. I also enjoy a slower pace and can provide care and companionship to your fur friend who might not be as active. Full-time student at LSU. My schedule allows flexibility to provide services that can meet your pet's needs. I share my affection evenly between all the fur friends and will love to meet yours! My services will be provided in clients home since mine is only pet-proofed for my little guy. Detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated so I know first hand the do's and don'ts of your home and how best to care for your fur friend!

“Yuli was beyond amazing! Communicative, reliable, and super friendly. She let me know about any concerns going on at home as well as sent pictures and updates abt my baby. Couldn’t recommend more!!! Book her!”

“Alicia was great! She took wonderful care of my two cats and sent me plenty of pictures. She also took the time to meet beforehand so that we both felt comfortable, which I really appreciated. Alicia was kind and professional and I highly recommend her!”

About: I have over a year of experience in animal daycare and/or kennel settings, and can quickly assess a pet's body language and accomodate for discomfort or unique needs. I have a part time job Monday through Wednesday, but I can make myself available with enough planning ahead, and usually have afternoons and evenings free. I need at least two day's notice for weekends. I follow client's intructions to the letter when caring for pets at their home. When needed (e.g. for brachycephalic dogs) I will ask for a safe harness or collar option to avoid restricted breathing.
About: I have been taking care of animals since I was 8, but they were our family pets. When I turned 17, I was babysitting for families that would also ask me to pet sit when they would go on vacations. I am not a puppy or dog trainer, but I am a puppy and dog lover! I am a preschool teacher from hours 7am-4pm. Therefore I am able to go and take care of a pet in the morning, during my lunch break from 12:15-12:30, and in the evenings after I get off. I also love walking my dog outside everyday, so walking dogs is like a second nature to me! Since I do have my own pet, I do not offer pet services at my own home. However when I take care of dogs in others' homes, I do exactly what is asked of me by the parents. I also love laying with pets, helping them get their zoomies out, and enriching their brains through different games (all would be approved by pet's parents). I also communicate to the parents often with pictures and letting them know how the pet pottied, ate, etc.
“Kaylee is THE BEST! I’m a total type c girly and tend to need a last minute book. This girl she’s up and out! My babies love her, and she has the experience to handle my bunctious bunch?”

“Michelle did an amazing job with our cat and made sure he had everything he needed for the weekend. We appreciated that she took a bunch of photos and kept us informed on how he was doing.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, ferrets, snakes, you name it. Proven ability to provide the proper care for the pets as stated by family, friends, and neighbors! I have a flexible schedule as I work and am in school only part time. I love spending my free time with pets, it is my passion! It depends on the service you are signing up for but I have an acre of land with a fenced in yard that the pets can roam on. I also have a two story roomy house they will have access to!
“Delayed review because I thought I left one but I didn’t! Sorry🫶🏽 Hannah was incredible, she was able to step in last minute for me and take care of Ozzie. Ozzie loved her and I know he would love for her to drop in again if I need it. Hannah was so kind and communicated well! 10/10 recommend will definitely book again in the future!”

“Krislyn is so sweet and pays attention to every detail of instructions. She sent pics and daily check-ins. It was so nice seeing my baby boy happy and being taken care of! I would HIGHLY recommend Krislyn.”

About: I’ve raised my dog, Tino, since I’ve been 10! I’ve gone through all the stages from a pup to now a senior dog. I am also currently studying to become a DVM so I love all furry friends! :) I have 100+ volunteer hours at animal shelters and I currently work part time at a pet boarding facility. I’m free mostly every weekday and anytime on the weekends. I usually take pets out 3-4 times a day for potty breaks. I love every pup size and I’ll enjoy snuggling with them or running around with them! I have a fenced backyard with a super chill senior dog that would love to meet other animals. We have a very calm home so no loud noises or disruptions. I also have a crate for small to medium dogs if needed.
“Mikayla was wonderful. I have one scaredy cat and I let her know she may not see him and she was great. She didn’t push it and instead spent time loving on my other cat who adores people. She sent adorable photos and arrived promptly.”

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Baton Rouge stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Baton Rouge. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
