“Savannah was fantastic! She responded to my request super fast and even offered to bring in mail and packages. Plus she sent me pictures each day. I highly recommend booking with her!”

“Allison has watched our cats for well over a year now every time that we leave town. She truly loves and cares for them like they are her own! She also goes above and beyond by checking our mail, sweeping and picking up around the house. She is exceptional and we always feel so comfortable with our animals in her care!”

“We consider ourselves lucky to have found Natalie to take care of our cats. The booking was a week before our trip (last minute for me), and Natalie was willing to work with us regarding times. We came home to healthy and happy cats who had all their needs met, and more. Natalie posted daily updates of both her activities, and pictures, which we greatly appreciated. She not only took care of their basics - food, water, litter bowls, treats - but spent time interacting with them. We have some great action pictures that made us laugh! We didn't have a minutes worry about them while we were gone. I'd recommend Natalie in a heartbeat, and we will be using her again.”
“Danielle is wonderful with my 3 cats. Spends time, cats are very at ease with her, while they normally would hide . Goes out of her way to clean up after the cats and keeps me up to date with their progress. Couldn’t be happier with her care.”

“Mako did a great job caring for our two cats and two guinea pigs! She was very diligent and took notes during our meet and greet as not to forget anything. She was very communicative and we didn’t have any worries about our pets while we were gone. We will definitely book her again in the future!”

About: I’ve been walking dogs and dog sitting for family and friends since I was 10. I am a certified veterinary assistant and have experience in the clinic. I have been held responsible for walking, feeding, watering, and grooming pets in the past. I am currently working in the er 2-3 days a week. I work 12 hour shifts and will put unavailable unless the client approves me checking in before and after work. I am a college student but my classes are online so I am easily flexible and can complete my school anytime and anywhere. When pet sitting I like to stick to a routine the dog is familiar with as it is already stressful for them when their family is gone. I will play with them and take them on walks if that is something your dog enjoys.
“Callie was wonderful! Her communication is amazing and made sure to keep us updated on our Rottweiler while we were away. I love that she provided us with so many pictures during her check ins. I would 100% recommend her and would work with her again. Your furry friends are in great hands with Callie!”

About: I grew up with 3 big AKC Labradors in the house and my dad bred puppies. They were so much fun and outdoorsy. As I grew older, I transitioned into the lap dog world and now I can't imagine it any other way! Our kitty cat and our pup play and sleep together. We love cuddle time and playtime and everything in between! I work from home on a flexible schedule so it's not a problem to take frequent potty or play breaks. My two are usually sleeping or playing in my office while I’m working. We have a fairly spacious house, and I keep doors closed on any rooms that are off-limits for dogs/cats. We allow animals on the furniture and my dog sleeps in the bed with me. The only reason the kitty gets crated at night (in her cushy crate), is that she will jump on my face while I'm sleeping if she isn't contained lol! We have a nice neighborhood to take walks in if your pets like that. My dog is always willing to play with them as well!
“Rebekah did a great job dropping in on our pups while we were away! They loved her as soon as they met her! She is very responsible and trustworthy! We will definitely use her again when traveling!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Athens. On Rover:
- 86% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
