“We are so happy we found Abigail! She is communicative and extremely flexible- with scheduling and with our very different dogs. She is patient and responsive with our sick dog and also can manage our more wild dog, both with a calm gentleness. She clearly has a strong understanding of dogs as well as a deep love for them.”

“Hillaree was wonderful! She was quick to respond, easy to talk to and the dogs liked her (we have 3 so we have a pack to please). She walked our two larger young dogs like a pro and they enjoyed her company. Hillaree has an excellent understanding of dogs, she is conscientious and she is clearly a hard working lady. We will be booking again!”

“Daniel was really sweet with our high energy lab. He took Ziggy off our hands amidst the chaos of moving day and brought him home happy and tired, which made such a difference for us! We are happy to be moved into the area now and will definitely use Daniel again.”

“We are so grateful to Lori, who hopped in the car and came a long way to help us out at the very last minute. She took our high energy 3-year-old lab on a fun hiking adventure and took so many cute photos. We will definitely use Lori again!”

About: I have experience in veterinary clinics as an assistant, technician, and at the front desk for a combined 3+ years. I have done petsitting for 16 years. I am well-versed in animal body language and I have experience handling pets of many temperaments, including anxious, reactive, senior, and medically complex animals. I’m comfortable administering medications, monitoring for signs of illness or stress, and helping pets feel safe. My background in veterinary medicine has taught me the importance of patience, reliability, and attentive care, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. My schedule is very pet-care friendly, and I’m used to building my daily routine around animals’ needs. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, walks, medications, playtime, enrichment, and monitoring animal behavior and health. I’m reliable, communicative, and make sure pets receive consistent attention and care throughout the time we spend together. I always try to keep pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. In a client’s home, I make sure pets are fed on schedule, exercised, given fresh water, and provided with plenty of attention, play, and affection. I also monitor their behavior closely for any signs of stress or illness and keep owners updated with photos and messages. With my veterinary background, I’m comfortable handling medications, senior pets, anxious animals, and pets with special needs. I prioritize safety, cleanliness, and creating a calm environment where pets feel secure and cared for.
About: I grew up having dogs and cats and taking care of them. Now that I don’t have any pets of my own, I’d love to care for someone else’s! I have dog sat for all kinds of dogs and always enjoyed the time spent with them. I currently work as a full time teacher, so I have time for pet care in the evenings most days of the week and even weekends. I care for pets by trying to understand what they need and giving them lots of love and attention. I am also fit enough to lift a dog if needed.
About: I have grown up surrounded by all sorts of animals and have been an adoring playmate for them all, except for one of my ferrets who only liked my mother! At an early age I began to provide animal care for people in my communities and have continued to gain experience ever since. From cats and dogs to horses and geckos, I've loved interacting with so many different personalities! I am a UMASS Student who is currently figuring out her summer work schedule. As of now weekdays are when I am most available but might still have availability on some weekends! Whenever I house/pet sit for a household, I take the instructions left for me very seriously and make sure to always return to them. I like to be in touch with the family of the pets I take care of so any anxieties or questions can be communicated effectively. I also like to inquire about the animal's demeanor and personality so I know what to expect. Overall, I try my absolute best to provide a comfy and fun environment!

About: I’ve had pets since I was about 4 years old, and am experienced with caring for cats and dogs. Any needs they have, I will take care of them all - from simple company when you're at work, to walks, giving meds and overnight stays! I have experience training puppies too, from potty training to the classic "stay", "sit", "come", "leave" etc. commands. I have a large dog myself so size of your pet is no issue. Anything you're unsure about, shoot me a message! I work full time at a school but am free weekdays after 2pm until around 10pm. On weekends I am free from Friday afternoon until Monday morning so I can do overnight stays too if needed. Depending on the care required, I will feed pets, give them meds, take them outside, play games/fetch/etc., brush them, empty litter boxes and so on. I have had several cats and dogs of my own and cared for many more, so I am comfortable with adjusting to their different personality types.
About: I am an active 20 something animal loving gal. Throughout college, I dog walked and house sat very regularly. I am comfortable and have experience with all indoor animals (big and small) and some outdoor critters (think chickens, goats, etc.). I have familiar and comfortable with the needs of puppies and older dogs, I have experience taking care of both. Currently, I work part time so I an free throughout the day to visit your furry friends while you’re at work. Additionally, I don’t have many responsibilities at home (no fur babies or kiddos), so I have a generally flexible schedule for housesitting. I am comfortable caring for animals with any kind of needs. I am adamant about clear communication with owners to understand how to best care of their fur babies and keep them safe. I reciprocate this communication when caring for your fur babies and try my best to stay in regular contact with owners.

I am a wonderful companion, and I ensure your pet is happy, clean, fed, with lots of love and playtime. I always respect body language and boundaries, for everyone’s comfort. Animals love me! My shifts are Tuesday 12:30-6:30pm, Wednesday 1-6:30pm, and Friday 1-6:30pm. Please ensure your dog is okay at home for this time during the week. Some of my clients opt to have a neighbor by for a potty break, but it works for many dogs that I go right there, let them out and feed them. My main focus is providing care for animals by overnight house sitting, drop-by care, or dog walking. There may be a small travel fee added for houses outside my service area. My house sitting is very in demand, so please book early for best availability! Thank you! I will go over your regular routines for your furry family member, and chat about keeping your pet safe. I love a harness for walks, I’m familiar with gentle leads, and I carefully supervise backyard playtime. Wood trails are great for walks and I always keep a close eye to make sure your pet is not getting into any mischief! I have a good eye for ticks. I exercise the utmost caution when walking on the street, keeping alert for traffic or other hazards. I carefully assess dogs we may meet to ensure safety and distance, with skills I’ve learned working at a doggy daycare. I care for dogs in a reassuring, calm way, with lots of praise and patience. Your best friend is in good hands with me!
About: With 25+ years of pet care experience, including 15 years as a vet tech, I treat each animal as I would my own. I enjoy getting to know clients and their companion animals. I feel it is important for pets to have someone familiar taking care of them while their people are away. For this reason, I will usually ask to set up a meet and greet prior to the first booking. In addition to dogs and cats, I have experience with small mammals (e.g. gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits), exotics (e.g. lizards, turtles, birds), and farm animals (e.g. chickens, horses, cows, sheep, goats). Whether exercising exuberant young animals, entertaining indoor cats, or just keeping them company so they don't miss you [as much], I'm there to be another one of their people! I look forward to meeting your animal companion(s) and learning more about their routine and requirements to keep them happy & healthy while you are away. You can expect to receive updates including photos while they are in my care. Drop-in visits and house sitting generally available 7 days (between 8AM-8PM) and 7 nights/week. I offer dog walking but not are occurring service on week end days, though available some weekends. My own yard is unfenced; I offer leashed walks and potty breaks in yard and/or on nearby trails. Due to respect for my 3 cats, I do not offer doggy day care or sitting in my home across the board. I have made exceptions for cat-friendly and low-key critters in the past. Find it generally works best to care for pets in the comfort of their own home, where I keep their regular routine going to the best of my ability.

About: I’ve spent the last 5 years working in professional dog kennels in Berlin, MA, and I currently work at a local kennel here in western MA. During that time, I’ve cared for dogs of every size, age, and personality. From shy seniors who need gentle patience to high energy wiggle butts who never slow down. As a kennel supervisor, I’ve handled dogs with medical needs, administered medications safely and on schedule, and monitored behavior to keep every pup calm and comfortable. I’ve also been trusted to run the kennel independently, managing feeding routines, cleaning, enrichment, and safety from open to close. Now, I’m excited to bring that same level of professional, loving care into your home. Whether your dog needs a simple walk, extra patience, medication support, or someone who treats them like family, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved one walk, one wag, one kiss at a time. I just graduated from college and I’m working hard to save for my first home! This means I’m going to spend my days doing something I genuinely love, which is caring for pups. My schedule is flexible and I’m available almost every day of the week. I offer plenty of walking and drop‑in options throughout the week, and I’m always happy to work with you to find times that fit your dog’s routine. Whether your pup needs a quick potty break, a long walk, or some extra love while you’re away, I’m here to help. Availability: • Most weekdays: mornings, evenings, and some mid‑day slots depending on my kennel shifts • Weekends: flexible around my kennel shifts • Nearly every day available with advance request! Now that school is behind me, I’m able to take on more walks, drop‑ins, and extended care. I love what I do, and I’m committed to giving your pets reliable, loving, stress free care every single visit. <3 When I’m caring for pets in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal, comforting, and stress‑free as possible. I follow your instructions closely and make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and understood while you’re away. Here’s what you can expect: Routine‑Focused Care: I stick to your pet’s usual feeding, walking, play, and medication schedule so everything feels familiar and calm. Clear Instructions Welcomed: Written instructions, whether on paper or by text, are always helpful. I’m happy to follow detailed routines, special notes, or anything that keeps your pet comfortable. Open Communication: I keep communication easy and consistent. If anything comes up or you’d like updates, I’m always reachable and responsive. Photos Included: I send pictures and check ins so you can see how your furry family member is doing and feel connected while you’re away. Walks & Outdoor Time: I tailor every walk to what your dog enjoys, whether it’s relaxed neighborhood strolls, peaceful nature walks, or extra sniff‑time to burn off energy. Medication & Special Care: In my personal and professional experience, I am very comfortable with pets (cats or dogs!) who have medical conditions, including administering medications safely and on time (even insulin). Clean & Comfortable Spaces: I keep litter boxes clean, fluff up dog beds, refresh water bowls, tidy feeding areas, and make sure your pet’s space stays cozy and stress‑free. Behavior Awareness: With my kennel background, I’m trained to read body language and keep pets comfortable, especially shy, senior, or anxious animals. My goal is simple to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved until you’re home again.
About: My first job as a kid was taking care of the neighborhood pets. I’ve always had a close bond with animals and have experience with rescue dogs, special needs pets, and senior dogs. I have an extra special place in my heart for pitties and you can know that your bully breed will be safe and respected when in my care. I’m currently working a flexible part-time schedule so I have plenty of availability. I am available for regular weekly walks and play sessions, and with the summer months coming up I am also available for vacation or temporary sitting opportunities. I enjoy physical activity, being outdoors, and hope to spend time hiking and playing outside with your dogs. I can lift 120lbs and hold a current wilderness first aid certification and can confidently respond to any pet emergencies that may occur.
About: I am a speech-language pathologist in Greenfield, MA and love working with animals on the side when possible. I started dogsitting down in Rhode Island in 2014 while I was in graduate school. I've also grown up with dogs in my life (a black lab/german shepard mix and a yellow lab). I have some experience with puppy training and enjoy going on walks with and exercising dogs. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover since I can remember. I've grown up having a dog. My first dog was a black lab/German Shepard mix named Pretina. I would play with her, take her on walks, go hiking with her, and many more activities. My second family dog, Piper, was a yellow lab who I had since she was a puppy. I helped in her puppy training and have enjoyed all the previously mentioned activities with her as well. Many of my friends and extended family have also had dogs which I've enjoyed playing with and caring for. During my undergrad career, I petsat for my professor's yellow lab and thoroughly enjoyed caring for him when I was so far from my own dog. My experience administering medication I am comfortable administering medication, though I would like to be shown how to administer it and practice with the owner before sitting for the dog. I have some experience administering insulin shots to a cat. I work in schools, so I am generally available before 8am and after 3pm on weekdays during the school year. During school breaks and summer, I have more availability. I care for your dogs following client preferences. I will let dogs out into a fenced in back yard, crate when left alone at home, keep on leash for walks, etc. as indicated by owners. In general, I would default to keeping dogs on leash during walks and not letting them out on their own unless the yard is fenced in.

About: Have owned dogs for over 20 years, pet sit for friends, family, and neighbors. I am over cautious and protective when it comes to animals, I'm also active so love walking dogs, throwing a ball for them, or taking them to our local lake for a swim. I have tons of patience for shy dogs, I have dealt with rescue dogs and know when to get close or not to an animal. I have never had an incident where I have had a dog become aggressive with me. I have taken my own dog to obedience school a few times and learned a few key trips for working with difficult dogs or puppies. I have taken care of puppies within the past three years and am comfortable with the extra care they require. I have a solid connection with our local vet and emergency animal hospital and am able to handle dogs who need shots or medications administered. I work from home and have several pets already needing care. Bathroom breaks, walks, ball throwing, catnip time, all of it already happens in my home. We have several pet fences within our home and a puppy proof first floor. If a pet is okay of leash then we walk them around our 4 acres throwing a ball or whatever the pet likes. If a pet is not okay off leash, then we just walk them on a leash on our land every 1.5 or 2 hours or as needed. Water bowls are everywhere, no chemicals are on site within reach of curious puppies, and no cars move very quickly on our driveway and everyone who does arrive at our home knows we have several pets and need to slow down. We have owned dogs for over 25 years and have never had any of our pets get injured.
About: When I was growing up, I was always caring for at least two dogs and cats at my family’s house. Neighbors and friends also made me their go-to dog sitter when they went away. I have loved caring for two greyhounds, four loveable slobbering hunting hounds, a giant golden who always thought he was a puppy, and one super sweet bullmastiff. Since my landlords do not allow pets, I am looking to give my attention to someone else's canine. I am comfortable with all sizes of dogs. I especially appreciate dogs that behave well on leashes and like big walks. I would like to help care for dogs in the Pioneer Valley, ideally around Amherst, Deerfield, and Northampton. If you are looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and experienced dog sitter/walker then let's talk! I look forward to meeting you and your dog(s)! Cats are cool too 👍 This winter and spring I have flexible working hours. I would love to break up the working day by visiting your pet and going for a walk. I will always provide gentle and loving care to your pets whether that’s playing outside or inside. Wherever care is given, I will always be mindful about respecting your living space
About: I’ve taken care of pets basically my whole life, I’ve grew up on a small goat & chicken farm, and genuinely love animals of all kind I’m working as a nanny, but my schedule is very flexible, and am available to take care of your pets whatever time works for you!! I have a fenced in area for my pet to run in, who has a lot of area he gets to play in, and his fur friends

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
