“Tara is fantastic! You can tell she really enjoys her job! She is timely, thorough and loving! Tara took great care of our big boy kitty Bela, she took time to get to know him, Bela loves to play and Tara was great playing with him, above and beyond what was expected! Tara is great with communicating and sending pictures, we felt very comfortable leaving Bela in her care. We will definitely request her again the next time we need care for Bela! We highly recommend Tara W!”

About: Hi there! I'm Maya. I'm a newbie to the pet-sitting scene however I've been around dogs my whole life. I also am a pet mom of 5 years to two dogs, named Millie and Matcha. I've raised and trained them up from 12 weeks old, and loved every minute of it! I've also fostered a few pups in the last two years and helped find them new homes as well! I am excited to start my journey sharing the love and care that I've garnered over the years with your baby and will do my best to treat them as my own. I'm a freelance creative currently going to school online to pursue a degree in Marketing, so my schedule is pretty open and can be adjusted based on your needs! I have experience with bathing, feeding, walking and paying with dogs and am happy to do all of the above when in your home for drop-in visits. I'm able to take care of any additional instructions you have such as medication distribution as well!
“Very attentive care for my timid cat. Followed all the care instructions very exactly and made sure to seek out my cat in hiding to confirm all was well. Recommended!”

“We are so glad to have found Toni to watch our kitties! They were so loved and well taken care of. We appreciate her communication, thorough reports, and her genuine care for them! Will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

“Megan was wonderful dealing with my 3 cats with VERY different personalities. She wven thought to move a food dish under a table where the shy old cat was hiding. It is such a relief to know that there is acaring person to take care of my cats when I travel.”

About: Hello everyone! I have years of experience taking care of dogs and it is one of my passions! I am very responsible, caring, and have great communication skills. I have experience walking dogs of every size and I also have experience training dogs. I work part time so I have ability to walk and take care of dogs in the morning and evenings as well as the weekend! My backyard is very large with a fence surrounding it. My neighborhood is very safe with lots of active people and people who enjoy walking their dogs on sunny days.

About: I believe the best pet care starts with listening. With a 5-year-old German Shepherd (Niko) and a 7-year-old cat at home, I’ve spent years mastering the "silent language" of animals. Whether your pet is high-energy or shy, I prioritize reading their body language to ensure they feel safe, respected, and calm. Why Choose Me? • Large Breed Expert: Raising a GSD from a puppy means I’m confident and steady with big dogs. • Cat Savvy: Raised my cat from a kitten; I understand feline boundaries and "slow-burn" trust. • Bilingual Training: My pets are bilingual. I am happy to maintain your pet’s specific language or hand-signal commands to keep their training consistent. • Family Trusted: I’ve been my sister’s go-to caregiver for years because pets naturally gravitate toward my calm, gentle energy. My Promise: No force, no stress—just attentive, professional care tailored to your pet's unique personality. I work full-time from home, which allows me to be physically present and attentive throughout the day for pet owners who need overnight or house sitting needs. My remote setup offers the flexibility to take frequent breaks for potty runs, playtime, or mid-day walks to keep your pet’s routine on track. I am flexible to accommodate special weekday requests. Since I have my own fur baby at home (Niko), I am happy to coordinate a schedule that balances his needs but also giving your pet 100% of my focus. My goal is to provide a seamless, low-stress experience that makes your pet feel like you never left. I will build safety and trust in your home by strictly following your established routines and utilizing my deep understanding of animal body language. I believe in giving pets the space they need to approach me on their own terms, ensuring every interaction is rooted in consent and calm energy.
About: I have over 13 years experience doing vet assistant and vet technician tasks and skills as a volunteer at The Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge, IL. I have been employed as part of the membership and philanthropic department at Lincoln Park Zoo from which I learned a great deal, stemming from my biology classes on taxonomy to zoology, to specific animal facts and conservation of threatened animals. I therefore know a great deal of educational background on animal behavior. I studied psychology and comparitive human psychology/animal behavior with a bachelors in science from IIT. I have grown up with dogs, cats, and ferrets. At Southwest Animal Care Center, I bathed, fed, walked, medicated, and cared for boarding and patient animals. I graduated with my veterinary assistant certificate in 2018. After graduating from IIT, I became a kennel attendant and learned a great deal about how to care for animals. Pet care is a daily task for me as I take care for two little fuzzbutt ferrets, Icarus and Agatha. Icarus often wakes me up with his bushy tailed excitement. I'm lucky to have such wonderful critters in my life. Right now, I am only offering dog walking and off-site at client's home services. From what I've read from the anthropologist book "Inside of a Dog" by Alexandra Horowitz, animals, especially dogs, crave human attention so being attentive to an animal's needs is to me, what's most important. This includes communicating with animals to know when they need a bathroom break, when they want play, when they want affection and cuddles, when they want nappy time, being fed according to what their schedule is, and of course, offering healthy treats (if allowed) and new novel smells, toys, etc. I can manage 4-5 walks per day with one or multiple dogs at a time 5-6 days a week. This is my main job and I'm dedicated to providing top care as if they are my own. I take extra care to be a courteous and contentious guest in the owner's home. I treat my stay with respect and humbly care. You can trust me to provide excellent care and keep everything tidy and clean.

About: I take care of all animals in my care, mine or not. I never yell and I don't abuse any animal. I treat them as my own and I make sure that their tail wags every time that they see me. I work as a full time dog groomer and now that Rover has that service, I would like to build my own clientele. I work full time so unless I am doing a house sitting or the place is close by that I can do a fly by, I am not available in the morning most days except weekends. Your dog is never out of my sight unless I allow they are secure in a crate. Any thing that brings me concern will be immediately brought up with you and I will find any solution I can to help.

“Melissa was super flexible and accommodating! She took such great care of my puppy & put my mind at ease by providing me updates during the check-in! She always had her own backup supplies just in case!”

About: I’ve had pets all my life. I adore all sizes, dogs or cats! I’d love to play/walk with them. And of course take care of any other needs they might need I mostly work night shifts. I’m free mornings and afternoons. I’m also willing to stay with your fur babies during the day while you’re at work. I’m happy to take your dogs on walks or to parks to let out their energy. And for your cats I have two of my own so I know how to fully care for them as well
About: I enjoy being with pups and getting them outside! I have a 13 year old chihuahua mix who is anxious and dog-reactive so no stranger to dogs with specific needs. I work from home full-time with a flexible schedule. I am available to check in on your dog or take them for a walk during the day, most days. My own dog has specific needs (senior, anxious, dog-reactive) so I will be sure to follow any directions to the tee. I want to make sure you feel good about leaving your pup in my care.
“I had such a great experience with my Lizbeth! She was reliable, caring, and kept me updated the entire time, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. What really stood out was her flexibility—when my flight got canceled, she kindly agreed to take care of my cat an extra day. That meant so much to me and truly showed her dedication and professionalism. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter!”

About: I have taken care of my dog Daisy, who is 12 years old and needs help everyday. I have also watched family members dogs for weeks at a time so I am experienced with that. I am currently working part time so I’m quite available. I’m looking to pick up some work to prepare me for the upcoming school year! I have a fenced in yard with lots of room to play. I prefer to do dog walking because I have a dog of my own at home.
About: I've owned pets my whole life. I currently own two pets: a Coton de Tulear named Kitty and a sweet German Shepherd named Medusa. I volunteer at animal shelters, and work as a veterinarian assistant. I have experience with cats and dogs ranging from newborns to seniors. While I have my own pets, rest assured your baby will have my undivided attention while in my care. I interact with pet on a daily basis. I work as a vet assistant, and have my own pets. I have lots of free time throughout the week that I occassionally dedicate to my neighborhood animal shelters. My most open days are Wed - Fri. Pets will never be left unsupervised in my care. Only pets from one household will be walked at a time. When doing drop in visits I pay close attention to the instructions given by the pet owner, and will ensure the pet is comfortable before departing. I will provide pets access to water at all times, and pay close attention for any signs of discomfort. I always keep a first aid kit handy. I do not offer treats or foods that are approved of by the owner first. If I notice anything concerning I will notify the pet owner. I'll also provide cute update photos for the owners reassurance.
Ashburn pet parents share their Rover experiences
Tara is extraordinarily helpful. I needed someone to visit my cat short notice, and she was on her way to my house within a few minutes. Tara loves pets passionately and it shows in everything she does. She is tuned into cats and gives Jim Catsby so much attention in ways that he enjoys—petting, brushing, etc. Awesome! 10 stars!

Mara is simply the best—highly recommended! My husband and I have never trusted anyone outside of family to care for our two senior dogs. One requires medication, and the other is extremely anxious, so finding the right person felt overwhelming. Mara immediately put us at ease. She took the time to meet with me and my dogs before her scheduled visits and was incredibly patient while I learned how to use the app. Not only is she kind and attentive with my pets, but she is also very capable and handled their somewhat complicated care with confidence. She communicated clearly, letting me know when something came up without causing unnecessary worry, and managed every situation thoughtfully—even things I hadn’t anticipated. Mara is responsive, flexible, and truly easy to work with. When I needed to add a service last minute, she responded right away and accommodated my request without hesitation. I can’t say enough good things—she is trustworthy, compassionate, and incredibly reliable. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dogs.

Megan was wonderful dealing with my 3 cats with VERY different personalities. She wven thought to move a food dish under a table where the shy old cat was hiding. It is such a relief to know that there is acaring person to take care of my cats when I travel.
