About: I have over 7 years experience supervising at dog daycares and boarding facilities in Orlando, the Twin Cities and Duluth. I was also an Animal Care Officer for the city of Minneapolis where I took care of pets of all kinds. I would love to spend time with your dog(s)! I work from home so I have lots of time to take care of and spend time with your pup(s). We enjoy spending time outdoors with our dogs and going on daily walks. We have a fenced yard along with two friendly dogs, a 2 year old Golden Retriever and a Heinz 57, 25lb bundle of joy. We also have a family cat who isn’t bothered by dogs.

“Emma was so wonderful with my two cats - and with me, the anxious cat-mom who hates leaving them behind when she goes anywhere! I booked Emma last-minute for a weekend trip and she still made time to stop by beforehand to meet them and see where everything was…she was flexible with visit times and and uploaded great visit pictures that eased my separation angst :) I will 100% be booking Emma again for any pet-sitting needs!”

“Mason was so patient and adaptable when meeting our pets! He exudes "animal person," letting them lead as they got to know him, and speaks with the kindest, calmest voice. We look forward to having him back often.”

“We were in Duluth for a long weekend with our dog and needed a sitter one morning. Peter and Barbara had such great reviews on Rover so I reached out to them. It could not have gone better. Peter came to our hotel to walk and feed Brody. I would highly recommend them! Thank you!!”

About: I have experience when dog-sitting my dogs, family dogs, and friends' dogs. I worked with all sizes. I've worked with reactive dogs and easy-going dogs. I have also taken care of senior dogs and puppies. I have had a puppy as my own and senior dogs as my own as well as reactive dogs. I am very comfortable with walking dogs and taking care of them! I do work a part time job, I usually work in the morning times and am off after 12. I have a car so can make anytime work! I don't have pets at my own home due to having roommates and other pets in the home. I am willing to take care of your furry friend at your house! I will take them potty, on a walk, make sure they have water or if they need to be fed. I will also make sure they have what they need, such as toys, water, food, and attention of course! and are put where they need to be!

“Jamie was able to take care of our kitties with last-minute notice, and they were happy campers when we got back! She was responsive and sent us daily updates. Will definitely book with her again!”

About: I've grown up with dogs ever since I can remember, though I only lived with one in my teens! I helped care for him through the last of his late years up until he passed, so I also have experience with caring for seniors and those with mobility issues. I've also had experience caring for multiple cats at a time for 4 years. If they're furry, I'll most definitely want to pet them! I currently work full time at a cafe with flexible hours, so if you are in need of an extra early or extra late drop-in, I'll be able to help out there! I can also do mid-day check-ins as well. As long as I get a good amount of time as a head's up, I'll be able to drop in at any time! I am super respectful of others' rules when it comes to their pet care. I am coming into their space, after all. Making sure I leave the home tidy after a play session is important as well!
“Grace did an amazing job with our cat. She came each morning, fed her, and then waited for her to finish eating so she could get some interaction. She seemed very happy and content when we got home. Much appreciated!”

About: I have over 20 years of professional experience working with pets and have had family pets my entire life. I have extensive knowledge of dog and cat care, including medicating, basic training, and senior care including diabetes injections. I have worked in vet boarding and pet sales at both local and corporate retailers for over 20 years. Pets have always been a part of my life, dogs, cats, fish, reptiles/amphibians, birds, small animals, poultry, and small livestock have all been a part of my family! I currently have a young dog, 2 senior cats, an ancient turtle, and many aquariums. I am also a plant lover and am happy to care for your photosynthetic friends as well! I am currently working part time and have a flexible schedule to care for your pets! I have a reliable vehicle and dedicated work ethic. The comfort and safety of your pets will be my priority during visits. My own pets are treated with compassion and dignity, I strive to treat all animals this way. Absolutely, I double check every time I let my own dog outside even when I am certain the gate is closed. I will notice subtle changes in your pets behavior after I get to know them. About: Hi there! I am an animal care specialist here in Duluth with a degree in Zoo & Conservation Science. Most importantly, I absolutely love ALL animals! I have over a decade of experience caring for my own pets at home including dogs, cats, and some farm animals! I also have 5 years of professional animal care experience in college and beyond. I am experienced at caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, and energy levels. Handling more than one dog on walks or sittings is also easy peasy! My specialized training enables me to safely administer medicine and I have an eagle eye when it comes to monitoring health issues. Pets are an important part of the family and I do not take that lightly! I am prepared to handle any weather Duluth throws my way! With my skills reading animal emotions/behavior combined with my genuine love for animals, you can know your pet will have a FURTASTIC time with me! I work full time (Thursday-Monday) but I’m happy to stop by for quick visits on my lunch break if necessary! I have 2 consecutive days off (Tuesday & Wednesday) if your pet needs more attentive care. I am very comfortable crating, putting on leashes/harnesses, feeding/watering, medicating, and whatever else is needed to care for your pet. I am renting so I cannot care for pets in my own home unfortunately.
“Courtnie was fantastic once again! Our pups do better with her than with us I think! She truly understands the nurturing and patience it takes with our little rescue. Our Chiwie has been in the United States less than a year and is so comfortable at home now that she works at everyone who comes to the house. Courtnie is the only one she does not bark at other than us! Truly remarkable! We are so thankful for her! She goes above and beyond. In addition to our rescue our senior pup takes a bit of extra care. We we were so very grateful and could relax, knowing our babies were well taken care for. We cannot say enough about how amazing Courtnie is!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
