Desiree was amazing. This was our first time using Rover and having anyone other than family care for our two cats. Desiree was excellent in every way. Her communication was great and her picture taking was so helpful to let us know our kitties were happy and doing well. We have one cat that takes medicine twice a day and Desiree was great at keeping that cat on his schedule. He is also a bit shy but within a couple visits Desiree had him eating treats out of her hand. I appreciated how proactive she was with the care of our kitties. I’d highly recommend her services.

Furthermore, she left my home clean, tidy, and secure. Any pet owner would be lucky to have Bekah look after their pets.

About: From my experience in shelter care and veterinary medicine, I am very comfortable with caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and medical needs. I have dealt with strays and owned pets from every imaginable background, and I believe every animal is worthy of patience, respect, and affection. I’m currently unemployed so I have a very open schedule for watching your dogs and cats! I typically let my own dogs out about 4-5 times a day, and they each have their own feeding schedule that I attend to as needed. I am very flexible right now, and would also be available to do fluids, injections, and other specific medical and behavioral needs (e.g., extra walks, extra play time, etc.). I have a fenced in yard and three friendly dogs, and two sweet cats, to keep your furbaby company. I am comfortable crating dogs and have an extra crate for a small-medium dog. One of my dogs is a senior dog with special needs, so I am perfectly comfortable housing and caring for dogs who have their own special needs. I also have a dog with epilepsy so I am very used to dealing with seizures and the safety precautions that go along with them. These dogs have also never met a stranger, and our home is an overall very welcoming environment to all creatures (I even have a pet spider!).

Fran is great! She cared for our 4 pups with the utmost care and respect. She updated me as soon as she arrived. She sent me photos and gave me behavioral updates. Fran followed our directions for feeding, training and special care for our dogs. Fran also gave me an update as she was leaving to let me know how the visit went. Our dogs seem to really enjoy her company. When I arrived home, I could tell how appreciative our dogs were for Fran’s visit. They were quiet, calm, and acted like they had a fun day while I was at work. Fran is a kind, reliable, and honest animal sitter! Thank you so much, Fran

About: Taken care of my medium sized dog for ~6 years. I've cat sit for many of my neighbors, cats of various temperaments and health issues. I've also done senior care (mainly memory issues & food check ins), and am an Eagle Scout. Currently unemployed, so I'm quite open to any time for cat or dog care. Within normal day time hours preferred, but no real preference otherwise. I unfortunately cannot take your pet into my home. My dog has not been acclimated enough to other pets enough for comfort. I am more than willing to help in a place they're more comfortable with.

We were pleased that Presley was available to watch our senior cat at rather late notice. She very kindly came to our home prior to watching our cat to meet me, our cat, Bentley, and to see the house and routine. Bentley, who can be unpredictable, warmed right up to Presley during their visits. Presley sent a photo and message each day letting us know that he was happy and well-cared for while we were away. Thankfully for us, Presley also helped us in a pinch with a pool maintenance issue. Thank you for all your help, Presley! We would be very happy to book with you again!

About: I’ve been taking care for dogs for over four years, and during that time, I’ve gained experience with a variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. For the past few years, I’ve been regularly taking care of my neighbors’ pets, providing everything from daily walks to overnight stays. I’m passionate about dogs and truly enjoy spending time with them, whether it’s playing, going on walks, or just relaxing together. I’m currently a full-time nursing student at the University of Memphis, but my schedule is quite flexible as of right now since I’m on summer break. Since pet sitting is my primary job, I have even more flexibility on weekends and can dedicate extra time to watching and caring for your pets. Whether it’s daily visits, walks, or overnight stays, I’m happy to accommodate your needs When it comes to caring for pets in their own home, I prioritize maintaining their routine and comfort. I make sure to follow any specific instructions regarding feeding, exercise, and medication schedules. I keep their environment familiar and stress-free by providing plenty of playtime, affection, and attention. I aim to create a positive, safe experience that helps your pets feel relaxed and happy in their own space.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs (and all kinds of pets!) for as long as I can remember. Growing up surrounded by animals and pet sitting for families in my community has given me years of hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. From playful puppies to senior sweethearts, I’ve truly seen it all—and I love every minute of it. What sets me apart is not just my experience, but the genuine joy I find in building trust with animals and giving them personalized, loving care. Dogs are my favorite animals, and getting to care for them professionally feels like a dream come true. I'm patient, dependable, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I’ve also cared for guinea pigs, fish, birds, and bunnies—so I’m happy to help with your non-canine companions too! Whether you’re heading out of town or just need an extra hand, you can count on me to keep your pets happy, safe, and loved. I'm a college student who has 2 full days of class on Tuesdays and Thursdays (8:00am-5:00pm), 2 half days of class on Mondays and Wednesdays (8:00am-12:00pm OR 1:00pm-5:00pm), and Friday off! When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it my mission to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. Whether it’s playtime in the yard, peaceful walks around the neighborhood, or just snuggling up on the couch, I give each pet the attention, affection, and comfort they need while their family is away. I follow all feeding schedules closely and make sure they’re eating, drinking, and taking any necessary medications on time. I’m also happy to send photo or video updates, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.

Jaclyn was great with our dog. We had a last minute trip and had to quickly find someone to come let her out to potty, feed her and play with her some. She was communicative and gave us good regular updates on our dog after each visit. I have no complaints and can recommend her to anyone.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Arlington stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Arlington. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
