“Jessica was wonderful. She made everything easy for us. Met us when we drove up. Made Cocoa feel comfortable. She took her for a walk with her own dogs. She sent photos during the day. We will definitely be using her again.”

“Stephanie and her family are phonenominal! My dog had her first visit yesterday and was happy and tired from playing with their awesome dog, who is now her new best friend. I can't say enough about how Stephanie and her family went far above and beyond the call of duty yesterday, for us! I can't give this dog loving family enough accolades!”

“Magda and Chris took amazing care of our dog Jett! She got to run around in their yard and relax inside. Magda and Chris were extremely kind and graceful, we were able to hike Old Rag while our dog got to frolick - all around ideal ❤️ thank you again”

“Our pups had a wonderful time with Leslie. I knew they would when we did a meet-n-greet. She is a loving dog person and they knew it right away. Her home is beautiful and accommodates dogs - lots of toys, blanket to snuggle in or rest next to Leslie on sofa. Backyard is big and fenced in - a doggies dream backyard. Leslie sent fun pictures and kept us up-to-date on their potty breaks. She walked the pups on a walking trails near her home which my dogs loved. Hopefully next time they will get to see the Canadian geese which visit the local pond regularly. We are so excited that Leslie has started Rover sitting — she is a gem and we are already signing up for another daycare sitting. 🙏🐾❤️”

“As always Leah and Christopher did a wonderful job taking care of Chloe today. Even though she sometimes has some separation anxiety at other places, I never have any reservations about leaving her with them because she loves going there. Leah and Christopher are very easy to deal with and always with a smile.”

About: I grew up on a mini farm surrounded by animals — from lizards and hermit crabs to dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. Over the years, I’ve cared for pets of all ages and needs, from anxious puppies and kittens to senior dogs with health or mobility challenges, as well as cats with special needs. Every pet in my care receives the same love and attention I would give my own. I’m available to provide flexible care around errands and appointments, giving your pets love, attention, playtime, companionship, and comfort throughout the day, tailored to each pet’s needs. When caring for pets in your home, I follow your routines carefully to ensure comfort and familiarity. Pets are supervised at all times, with fresh water, treats, and attention. I maintain feeding schedules, potty breaks, and playtime, adapting to any special needs, mobility issues, or anxieties. Safety, consistency, and love are my priorities, so your pet feels secure and cared for while you’re away. In my home, I introduce pets safely, separating them from my own during initial meetings. I provide a secure space for each pet and use mini fencing to ensure safety, even though my property is not fully fenced. I follow the same level of care and safety as I would in your home.
“Peyton and Chloe were very kind and accommodating! We had a wedding where our dog was our ringbearer but we could not have him at the venue during the reception. They were kind enough to come pick him up during cocktail hour! It was our first time on rover but they made our day and everything so easy!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a reliable dog sitter!”

About: My name is Elena and I am a US Army Veteran who loves animals. I know the feeling of having to be at work all day and not having the time to be at home with your furry buddy that’s why just leave it to me to fill in the love and attention your buddy needs. I understand when a dog feels excited, threatened, scared or even sad, as I had quite a few dogs in my life to experience all those feelings. If your pup or kitty has an accident at home I have no problem cleaning it right up. I have the career and time that allows me to care for pets in my routine. I have two children who also love love animals! I show them the attention any person needs, play with them, cuddle, give them the exercise their specific breed requires. Allowing the pet to feel like they are home.
“Cara is the best! She is prompt and professional and her kind and calming presence made our Daisy take to her right away. Daisy absolutely loves her and we are so happy to have found her! Thank you!”

“Our pup had a great day with Marguerite and her girls! He was exhausted and happy when picked him up. He got lots of walks and outdoor time, and even better he got lots of love from the whole family. Marguerite was flexible with pick up/drop off times and was communicative from booking until after we picked Tyco up. We would use Marguerite again.”

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Amissville
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 496 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Amissville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Amissville commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
