âLaurie was great with our dog. She was very attentive and made sure to keep us informed of everything that was going on during her visit visits. I would definitely use her again. Our dog is very timid and scared and she did everything she could to make sure he was comfortable while we were gone.â

âShe did amazing with our boys. Koda (the brown one) is diabetic and had a hard time recognizing her. She did great calming him and his brother down and administering insulin. Definitely going to book again!â

âWe hired Levi to watch our cats while gone for 3 weeks out of the country. He did multiple daily checks that involved several tasks, including litter management, feeding, playing, and also took care of our plants. He was easy to get ahold of and is great to work with. Will definitely be using him again.â

âI wish there was more stars, since Esperita truly deserves them. Her gently demeanor made her an ideal sitter for our two Greyhounds. They odor her, and we will definitely be booking with her again. Super reliable, and you know she will take care of your animals as if they were her own.â

âJennifer is dependable, reliable, and professional. Felix really likes her and she is good with him and to him. Jennifer left our home neat and cleaned up (cat dishes, litter box etc) and followed all instructions. I highly recommend Jennifer and Felix will see her again, I am am sure! Thank you Jennifer!!â

âDaniel is so good! I can't recommend him enough. He loves on my dogs and treats them like his own. They don't get stressed at all when I need to go out of because they aren't cooped up in a kennel with lots of other dogs. They are at home sleeping in their beds and loving the attention Daniel showers on them. Gives me peace of mind knowing they are in good hands.â

âTammy and her husband did a great job of taking care of our pets, even during an ice storm. She also reached out to us during a power outage with questions. Would be happy to have her come by if/when we go away again.â
âIzabella was wonderful!! She's super responsive, an excellent communicator, and has a lovely and warm personality. She took great care of my special needs chihuahua while I was out of town, and I look forward to booking her in the future.â

About: Iâve had my own dogs and cats and have taken care of pets for friends and neighbors. Iâve also helped out on farms. Iâm experienced with taking care of doggies, cats, horses, and goats. Enjoy spending time with animals and am happy getting to know yours :) I have a flexible job which makes it easy to take care of animals if anything should arise midday. I am available for overnight care and am open on weekends. I have a roommate whoâs allergic to dogs, so I can only board cats. I am available for overnight care for dogs in their homes. Every pet is different, and I enjoy getting to know animals and meeting them where theyâre at.
âJessica was great with my older Saint Bernard. She put my girl at ease and updated me on their visit including pictures. My Saint was calm and happy when I returned home. Thanks Jessica!â

âMisty was great with my two dogs! We will hire her again for sure! Not only is she a great person, she's great with animals and is very professional and friendly. My husband and I trust her with our fur babies and our home!â

About: I have taken care of all kinds of animals as I lived on a farm for a good chunk of my life. I will do the best that I can do to take care of your furry one! I am working full time and I am also a student, but I make sure all pets are taken care of first no matter what. I do live in an apartment by myself with another small dog and cat. They are great with other animals and we have a big backyard to sunbathe roam around in. Anything you may need done in your own home, I can most certainly do too.
âLorenzo was great with my fearful German shepherd. He was patient and followed all of the care instructions I left. Overall very responsive and communicative. Thank you Lorenzo!â

âWill 100% use Mariah again! She provided detailed updates & photos, took my dog for walks & play time. Communication was great and Iâm confident my dog was well cared for by Mariah while I was out of town.â

About: I have been around animals my whole life and I love to take care of them and make sure they are always happy and healthy. Right now I have an open schedule. Iâd love to help out with your fur baby anytime until I get myself a full time job. Animals will always be safe around me and I will always make sure theyâre comfortable depending on what their comfort is, whether itâs at my house or the clients.
About: From fostering a Great Dane and her seven puppies to caring for my own aging dog sick with cancer, I can care for animals at any stage. Iâm newish on Rover, but I have been traveling and pet sitting all over the country, so my reviews are on Trusted House Sitter for reference. I look forward to chatting! I work during the week and remotely at times, so I have flexibility to accommodate any schedule. I have a car and can transport wherever. Itâs just me and my dog in my apartment, but we have a first floor with a small yard out front that Kesey likes to sunbathe in. All the neighbors stop and say hello.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your catsâ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, donât forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alley Place. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
