“Megan and her family were the best sitters I’ve ever had! I had no worry or anxiety about her staying with Megan after the first day or two when I realized she was in great hands. Megan has a naturally calm and caring energy, was responsive, and seemed to genuinely enjoy Zolas company (my Zola is a very loving, but high energy and high attention pup. Megan picked up on behavioral oddities and anxieties that one would only notice if they were really paying attention and cared. Additionally the grounds were safe and spacious for lots of exercise time! To top it off, this booking was last minute when we found out our house closing date was being pushed back, not one, but TWO times. Megan was there to gladly take Zola for another week. In all, Zola stayed for about 10 days and returned to me healthy and happy and exercised. I would highly recommend Megan!”

“Colleen was so kind to watch our lab on a pretty last minute basis. She was very communicative, friendly, and easy to work with. Our pup was well cared for and came home very happy. We’ll definitely try to book Colleen again and highly recommend her to others.”
“Ashleigh was amazing. She helped us out last minute and took great care of our dog. He is an older dog with meds and she was so good to him. We got updates and photos daily. She was so easy to communicate with and really loved on my dog while I was away! I would highly recommend Ashleigh!”

“Kim was absolutely wonderful with our 10 lb Havanese, Henry, while we were away in Alaska for our wedding. Henry is a senior dog who requires daily medications and a little extra attention, so it was really important to us to find someone we could completely trust with him. Kim did an amazing job taking care of him and made us feel comfortable knowing he was in good hands while we were so far away. She was attentive to his needs, kept up with his medications, and gave him plenty of care and affection. Being able to enjoy our wedding and trip without worrying about Henry meant a lot to us. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and would absolutely trust Kim with Henry again. Highly recommend her, especially if you have an older dog who needs a little extra care!”

“Bends Hidden Gem! My dog has such a blast with Jill. As she puts it, it’s like going to grandmas house. My dog got to play in her fenced in yard. Go for a walk through the neighborhood , jump up on the couch if he pleased and rummage through her toy bin! Her house stays quite cool in summer so it made for a good escape from the heat. Jill is an excellent communicator and has just a general love and passion for animals. I would highly recommend her for anyone.”

“Leah was absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of Ophie, and I felt completely comfortable knowing she was in such good hands. Leah was reliable, communicative, kind, and clearly really loves animals. It gave me so much peace of mind while I was away, which is everything you want in a pet sitter. Ophie was happy and well cared for when I got home. I would absolutely book Leah again and highly recommend her!”

“Absolutely loved Selah, her partner, and the way they took amazing care of our pup! Goose loved hanging out with them, getting lots of cuddles and going on walks. Really felt like visiting grandma’s. She was very flexible with our crazy schedule, which we greatly appreciated. Will definitely be booking again in the future!”

“We were very happy with Angela’s service. She was excellent at communicating; prompt response, courtesy reminders, and updates about my dog. She was warm and friendly and my dog instantly was comfortable with her. Definitely recommend!”

“Millie and her family were so great to my pup while I was gone for the weekend. I appreciate their photos and updates and they made sure she was right at home with them. Thank you for being so communicative and for including her all weekend!”

“There are endless positive things to say about Chris! She went above and beyond to care for our dog. She does sniffle mats, walks, treats and sends pictures and videos during her stay! Her dog Bristol is also the sweetest pup and she is so gentle. The care and love she has for these dogs is so special. We can’t recommend Chris enough. Your pet will be in wonderful hands staying with her! Thank you again :)”

“Although I did not drop our dog, Doug off or pick him up, my husband was very pleased with the care of our dog! Thank you, Alicia and Kyle for your time and we hope to see you soon!”

“Third time with Jenna and cannot say enough good things about her. I’ve used Rover a lot in a bunch of other locations too and she is by far the best sitter we’ve found. Lots of pics everyday and updates. Great easy drop off location.”

About: I’ve always had a pet as a member of my family. Cats and dogs. My current love is a super chill (yes, there is such a thing!) lab. Every walk is a mini training adventure. My lab Riley will get along with your pup, it’s just his nature. I provide enrichment during the day to keep boredom away. If I visit your cats, I know they might not visit me! I’ll just sit on the floor and wait for them to come out from under the bed! I’m fortunate to be able to adjust my retiree schedule every day. I’m flexible to your particular pet’s needs and schedule. It depends on the type of service, in my home or in yours. I have a completely fenced, (tall too) back yard. I don’t leave my pup unattended while he’s out. We leash walk mornings, afternoon and evenings. I have numerous sniffing loops I use as I live along the canal.
“Ashley & Billy were awesome! They accepted my booking short notice & took amazing care of my 11 week okay mini dachshund. They treated him like their own & sent me updates often. I could tell my little Duke just loved his time there and was so spoiled! If I am ever in Bend again, I will rebook with them!”

“Scott is fantastic. Our dog Millie immediately took to him at the meet-and-greet and was very happy to see him again when we brought her to his place for the actual stay. His property is wonderful for dogs, with comfortable and safe areas in the house and a large outside area for playing and sniffing. Scott is amazing with dogs. He is loving and playful and patient and clearly understands them well. We would use him again in a heartbeat.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Alfalfa home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Alfalfa.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Alfalfa sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
