“My pets were immediately attached the Danielle after the first meet and greet. Danielle exemplifies a caring professional! My wife and I felt at ease leaving our pets in her care. I know they will be excited to see her again!”

“Amazing! I had just moved to Charlottesville and didn’t know anyone to watch my cat. Saw Briana’s profile and felt I could trust her. So glad I did and that she was available to watch my nervous guy in his new home! She even made sure to send photos of his little head peaking from his hiding places! Definitely recommend!”

“Nathan was so helpful! He was willing to fit me in last minute. He replied quickly to messages and even called from the house to make sure he took care of everything I needed.”
“I highly recommend Samantha as a pet sitter, especially if you have pets with high anxiety that leads to behavioral issues. Her ability to calm and connect with dogs is phenomenal. Both of my dogs have anxiety and one has trust issues, but Samantha quickly made my Milo her friend. During her visits, Samantha communicated with me often and sent pictures so that I would know my pups were okay. She loved on them as I would. I cannot express how much all of this meant to me and how it put me at ease. Samantha has earned my dogs’ trust and mine. I will definitely use her services again!”
“Jamie was absolutely amazing with my old girl! She was incredibly flexible with my crazy schedule, and was very communicative with me. As for my pup, she absolutely adored the time she had with Jamie. All of her rover cards came back with huge smiles her face. Big dogs (like mt pitbull mix) can often be dismissed by people’s fear of them, my Jamie was happy to dive right in. 10/10 recommend.”

“Jessica was wonderful caring for our new kitten! Will definitely ask her to help again. She did everything I asked, was respectful of my home, communicated very well, and the kitten loved her! Thank you, Jessica!”
“Dakota went above and beyond while we were away! He was communicative and was wonderful to the dogs! Most certainly would love to have him come again!”

About: Hi! I’m a huge dog lover and offer a safe, calm, and thoughtful home environment for boarding. I take a lot of care in how I work with dogs because I know how much trust it takes to leave them with someone new. My goal is to make your dog’s stay feel comfortable, low-stress, and genuinely enjoyable, while giving you complete peace of mind. I use a science-based, force-free approach, focusing on reinforcing good behaviors and helping dogs feel confident and secure in a new environment. I’m happy to support training goals during their stay, including loose-leash walking, recall, desensitization, grooming tolerance, ignoring distractions (like food or other dogs), public access skills, and puppy or new dog basics. Whether or not your dog has specific goals, I reinforce consistent everyday manners to keep the visit smooth and positive. I’m very interested in dog behavior and training, so if there’s something specific you’re working on that I haven’t listed, I’d be excited to learn and support you and your pup! Hi! I’m a huge dog lover and offer a safe, calm, and thoughtful home environment for boarding. I know how important it is to trust someone with your dog. My goal is to make your dog’s stay feel as comfortable, low-stress, and enjoyable as possible, while giving you complete peace of mind. Pet care is a central part of my daily routine, allowing me to provide consistent supervision, structured care, and individualized attention. In a new environment, rest is just as important as activity, so I’m intentional about giving dogs high-quality downtime tailored to their needs so they stay relaxed and well-regulated. I take time to understand each dog’s personality and provide the right balance of structure, activity, and rest. All care is fully customizable to your preferences, including routines, activity levels, and multiple sleeping arrangements to ensure your dog feels at home. I also like to set up a meet and greet beforehand to make sure it’s a great fit.

“Amanda took such great care of our two elderly cats over the holidays--would definitely recommend her to anyone and would employ her services again. Communication was great, the cats liked her and seemed happy and calm upon our return.”

About: I love animals! I believe your fur baby is more than just a pet, they are a member of your family. I have cared for pets belonging to family, friends, and employers for years, and I will always treat them with love and care. I currently work full time Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. My only available time to assist with pets throughout the work week would be after 5pm. I am very flexible on weekends! I unfortunately will not have the room to care for pets in home yet. However, I can care for pets at your home. I will make sure your dog or cat has all the love and attention it needs and go above and beyond on making sure your pet feels comfortable and happy.
About: My love for animals has been apparent all my life. I grew up surrounded by different animals and feel very comfortable providing focus, love, and attention to pets in my care. Rabbits, dogs, cats, and other typical farm animals all require a certain level of knowledge and skill. Beyond my youth, I’ve since had two dogs. One of which I’ve had since she was a puppy and is now a 15yrs old min pin. Her vet knows her quite well in the sense that she had regular check ups her entire life because she is my baby. As for #2, he was adopted Nov 2019 at 10mons old (a COVID baby if you will). At 40lbs, he is a good balance to the many “cousin” dogs that know, play, and love our family. In addition to my general love and knowledge to pets and their care, I was also an army combat medic and was taught a section for emergency pet care. While I hope to never use that knowledge, it is assuring to me that I can identify and response appropriately when needed. Always happy to answer more questions! I have a very flexible work location so I can work from home, hybrid or in person as needed. I can adapt to every situation! Always provide a safe, trusting, and stress-free environment. Follow orders to a “T”. And adapt to each pets personal needs and care requirements. Happy to help!
“We were in town for a couple of nights and wanted to go out to a nice dinner. We had Megan come to our hotel room to stay with our Schnoodle so she wouldn’t bark the whole time! Megan was great. Right on time- very engaged and we felt very comfortable leaving her with Maisy. Highly recommend.”

“I would book Amber again! She did an amazing job taking care of our 2 kitties over the holidays. The kitties enjoyed her company :) she went above expectations by washing the food bowls. Highly recommend. Thank you Amber!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 305 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Alberene. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alberene. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
