About: Starting at seven years old, I walked local dogs near my father's work place. All the while learning from my cousins who were cattle dog trainers. In high school I worked three years as a dog groomer, where our clientele was mostly elderly dogs with occasional show dogs. Throughout 2024 I worked at a sheep farm/dog boarding barn where I worked with guardian dogs and tended to the boarded dogs. Aside from tending to cattle, my primary job at that farm was feeding the dogs, stall picking and assisting with occasional medical care for injured guardian dogs. I'm currently working as an independent artist from home while also taking care of our own pup. My schedule is relatively flexible though is arranged around dog care. I structure my day to ensure our dog gets from 3-5 good walks a day as well as a half hour for zoomies. At our home, we use the rule of "up for one down for two". Meaning that dogs will get an hour of walking, running, or playing at a time and then down time for about two hours. Crate training is essential in our home for overnight stays. Care at the client's home will depend on the client's daily rituals that they've established with their dog.

About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats for over 20 years, pets are my passion! I am also a former Petshotel and Doggie Day Camp Manager for a national chain and have extensive experience handling dogs, cats, and small pets of all sizes and breeds. I am currently accepting small and medium sized dogs for in house day care and overnight stays. I specialize in small and delicate breed types, not usually suited for kenneling or vet boarding. All fur babies will be treated as family members while here! They can sit on the couch, sleep on the bed, and watch TV with us just like at home. Some larger "gentle giants" can be considered on a case by case basis, just reach out. I believe pets are family! All pets in my care are treated with loving and gentle guidance using only positive reinforcement. All dogs will remain on leash the entirety of their walk. We have a fenced in area off the back patio for bathroom breaks with wood chips as ground coverage. No grass of any kind for the safety of those pets with grass and skin allergies.

One of my kitties, Li'l Lulu, can be very particular and be quite standoffish and ornery if I am not doing things EXACTLY the way she wants them done, WHEN she wants them done. Yet Lil'l Lulu came right up to Emily the first time they met -- knowing immediately that Emily was a person she could trust -- and, while I was away, she let Emily place her on her lap to clean her ears, purring the whole time. Emily told me when we met that she became a pet sitter because she loves animals, likes spending time with them, and sees pet sitting as a career, as something she wants to do, not as a fill-in job to make ends meet or until something better comes along. Animals sense that ... and it showed through in the way she took care of my kitties ... just like they were her own.”

About: I grew up with all sorts of cats and dogs, from yorkies to french mastiffs to senior cats. I currently have a 20 year old cat, so I’m familiar with giving medication as well. Previously, I’ve worked as a teacher, nanny, house manager, and personal assistant. I come with references and I’m happy to do meet & greets. I’m looking forward to meeting your family! I have wide availability this semester so I’m available to take care of pets for large portions of the day, so I’m very much available for drop ins or to spend more time with your furry friend if they need it. I love to go on a morning or evening stroll so taking dogs out for a walk is a perfect addition to my day. I’m big on communication and I’ll be sure to ask a lot of questions during the meet and greet so that we can all have a smooth experience. I like to do drop-in tasks like feed/water/walk and then spend some time playing together, depending on the pet’s ability to play. My goal is to keep them from missing you too badly! I have tons of pet experience so I know all the tricks for making sure pets don’t run out of doors when entering and exiting, and I know what signs to look for if a pet is sick and needs emergency care.
