You can tell how much Dakota cares about taking care of your dog and their individual needs. We got several photos and updates throughout the time Dakota was watching Wes, which really put us at ease. We would absolutely recommend Dakota, and would be happy to have Dakota watch We anytime!”

“Dawn was amazing! She stayed with the pups while we were on vacation and she made sure we knew they were doing well and sent pictures and updates while we were gone. Would definitely recommend and use her again!”

About: I started pet/house sitting when I was a senior in High School (2018) and have been watching my friends and families pets since! I have experience with a range of dog sizes and breeds (tiny Chihuahuas to massive German Shepards). I have experience giving medication to older pups and have taken care of energetic younger dogs too. My job allows me to work from home most days. When I’m out in the field for work, I usually am only gone about 4-6 hours. I prefer coming to the owners house as I have found most pets are more comfortable in their own home. I keep the house clean and am flexible with arrival and departure times.

“Meredith took very good care of our home and our pups. We enjoyed our travel mostly because we had such confidence in her. We look forward to having her again.”

“Amanda was a wonderful sitter for our doodle Henry. He loved having her and she really took great care of him. He had walks and playtime and she sent frequent pictures showing us how much fun Henry was having. I was completely at ease knowing she was at our house with him. She also left the house impeccable. We highly recommend her!!!”

“Jessica was very responsive and a good communicator. When she met my dog, he really seemed to like her--he interacted with her immediately. We will use Jessica's services again!”

“Zach took wonderful care of our home and dog while we were out of town. Harlow was spoiled with so many snuggles and quality time. We hope to have him stay again in the future. Thank you, Zach!”

“Madison and Ryan were so great with my two pups! They sent plenty of updates and pictures which is always appreciated. One of my pups ended up getting sick on the last day from an autoimmune condition and they were super attentive and caught onto the symptoms immediately. They even offered to stay later than planned to keep an eye on him until we got home. 10/10 recommend and will book again!”

“Jenessa was wonderful and our dogs seemed very happy. She was accommodating and flexible and was available to care for our pets around Christmas which was a huge plus. We would definitely use Jenessa again!”

“Brielle was a fabulous sitter and house guest. We were nervous to leave our pup for the first time, but she was attentive, gave us updates, and cared lovingly for our dog Hazel. She left our house in excellent condition, too! We won’t hesitate to book with her again.”

About: New to Rover, but not to pet care :) I grew up with animals great and small. I've had dogs of all sizes, cats, horses, snakes, mice, chickens, and one skunk. All of my dogs are rescues, so I'm no stranger to reactive dog care and I'm well-versed in positive reinforcement training styles. I love all animals, but I've got a real soft spot for the senior babies. I recently lost my own 16 year old pittie, so I'm comfy in a space that may require a little extra effort. I'm a weightlifter in my free time, so I can easily help any size senior with any mobility issues 💜 I'm starting on Rover after losing my 13 year career in analysis to federal funding issues. My schedule is quite flexible and free, though I do have to be home at night to care for my own four-legged family members While I'd love to offer care in my home, I do have my own pets and introducing new babies to the mix can be stressful for all involved. In your home, I will love on your fur babies as if they were my own. They'll have a cuddle buddy (if they choose), engaging playtime, and treats (if you choose). I also spend quite a lot of time at the gym I own in downtown Charlottesville, so if you'd be comfortable with field trips, I'd happily take them out for some extra socialization.

“Megan was spectacular, stepping in with very short notice to dog sit my puppy for a week when my original sitter canceled a few days before I left. She took very good care of my dog a provided some very cute photos of the fun they were having”

About: I have always felt I shared a special connection with animals. I'm apt to remember pets' names rather than their owners'. I have cared for animals most of my life, both my own and others'. I have volunteered at shelters and helped dogs find furever homes through a doggy underground railroad. My first "real" job was cleaning kennels. I have worked in shelters and animal sanctuaries. I groomed show dogs part-time for 15 years. I even worked in the pet waste disposal business before having my only child. I currently care for a rescued Australian Cattle Dog that nobody else would adopt due to her aggression, as well as 7 cats. I am an energetic person who wants to take your dog for long walks. I can give medications and insulin shots when necessary. I have a flexible schedule as i own a small landscaping business with my husband. I am an early bird so morning walks are no problem. I don't care for animals in my home due to having an aggressive dog but having her has taught me to be super-vigilant and careful. I am a safety minded individual who will watch your dog like a hawk.

“Isaiah was great with our rambunctious and needy dog. He spent a great deal of time with him which is what our dogs needs. He kept up posted with texts and pictures, asked questions when he wasn’t sure about something which I appreciated. Very reliable and took care of our mail, garbage and plants while we were gone for a week. I would definitely recommend him!”

“Eden was so wonderful- she took great care of my dog while I was away, and she was a lovely house guest! I did not have to worry about my pup while I was out of town for a conference, and I came home to a clean house! I appreciate her so much and will absolutely book with her again!”

“David did a wonderful job keeping our very high-maintenance Olde English Bulldogs! He was easy to communicate with, and, he was kind, gentle and attentive to details. He stayed at our home and everything was perfect upon our return!”

“Liz was great. On time, did extra cleaning, Chief seemed super happy and loved hanging out with her.”

“BJ was wonderful and took great care of our dog (and rabbits) while we were away for a long weekend. Her love for animals is clear. Our dog absolutely loved her. We would certainly rebook again!”

About: I have worked with several different types, sizes, and personalities of dogs. I also have experience with older dogs and being sensitive to their needs as they age. Providing a calm and reasurring presence to my canine friends, whether they are excited to see me or feeling a little stressed with their owner gone. I try to give my animal companions the best quality of life possible for them. I really love what I do. I currently work part time so I am able to give lots of time spending with furry friends. Animal care has become part of my daily routine and I couldn't imagine life with out it. In others homes I keep the enviorment low key and peaceful so as not disrupt them. I try to keep them on a regular schedule so they know what to expect and can relax a bit more.

20. Allison C.
“Allison is the BEST pet sitter ever. I have had many over the years. She loves to sit with my Tessa and just shower love on her. She is also really good at getting my animals to take their medications. I have a geriatric dog who has laser treatments for arthritis and needs to take about 18 pills a day and somehow Allison manages to find all the ones that my dog thinks she has hidden after she "pretends" to take them. I have Allison sleep over at my house when I am away for business as well. One time I was in the hospital for a stay that was supposed to be 3 days that ended up being 12. Allison made sure that my dog was taken care of even though I didn't have it scheduled with her and I know she was busy at the time. We also have a very fussy cat who makes a mess when she feels neglected. She has never once retaliated against us upon our returns from vacations when Allison is on the job. I trust her inherently with my animals. ”
