Derya is the kind of dog sitter. You can leave your dogs and house with and not worry for even a second. I recently booked him as my dog sitter for the very first time and I had never left my dog before. Not only were they happy but my home and Lan were in perfect condition when I returned! Nice and tidy, and just like I left it. He sent videos every single day some of them funny and others of my pups. Just do their normal thing. He was immediately responsive anytime I messaged him, and I can’t recommend him enough to other pet owners. Thank you, Daria for taking amazing care of Winnie and Loaf!

Emily is awesome! She took care of our pets and house while we were in Maine for 10 days. The pets included a dog, 2 cats, & 4 fish tanks- they were all alive and happy when we got home. She also kept the house clean, noticed when the neighbors put the trash out & contacted us and got ours out (I had forgotten to tell her when trash pick up was). She sent pictures daily, asked questions when she had them, but didn’t need more instructions on anything we had covered in our notes. I honestly have mixed feelings about saying how great she is because she might get too busy and not be available next time we need her 🤣

About: Big or small, I’ve probably kissed it on the nose! My vet hospital experience gives me the ability to acknowledge changes in each species better than most. I’m a lover of horses and cows, so big dogs wouldn’t be any different for me. I’m happy to administer medications, keep up with a training schedule/routine, keep up with their energy needs by going to the dog park or walks, etc. I’m known to be a confident, compassionate, and reliable person with animals. I’m a morning person! I’m available most mornings and evenings. My class schedule doesn’t have me on campus for extended periods of time. I don’t have classes on Fridays and am looking to do this as my main income source! I will happily respect your house rules, but I could cuddle all day long with the fur balls! Growing up, I was totally guilty of letting my dog in bed and giving some human food. Now, I understand the importance of discipline and routine. I’m happy to follow your routine and give ample pet kisses along the way! I am sure to treat every pet as my own. If I notice a lump, bump, cut, etc. I’m never one to assume you already know about it. Their happiness and health is my top priority.

Adriana is a WONDERFUL dogsitter. She watched my Catahoula hound dog, Kiddo, for me in my home for five nights, and I felt so reassured with how communicative and she was throughout my trip. I returned home to find Kiddo as happy as ever. Thank you so much, Adriana; 12/10 would recommend for caring for anyone's pets!

About: I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by dogs of all sizes, energies, and breeds! From energetic puppy playtime and structured neighborhood walks to cozy senior snuggles, I know exactly how to keep your pup happy, safe, and thoroughly entertained. Hello. My name is Tricia and l bring more than five years of professional veterinary medical experience, along with many years of caring for animals in my own home. My experience includes dogs and cats as well as ferrets and a variety of small companion animals, giving me a broad understanding of different personalities, needs, and comfort levels. What sets me apart is not only my professional animal-care background, but the way I approach the animals entrusted to me. I believe animals deserve to be treated with patience, kindness, respect, and compassion. I do not believe in forcing or intimidating an animal into compliance. Instead, I pay attention to what each individual animal is communicating and work to help them feel safe and comfortable in my care. My veterinary experience has also taught me to be observant. I understand the importance of noticing changes in an animal’s behavior, appetite, mobility, bathroom habits, or general demeanor that someone without a medical background might overlook. I am comfortable caring for animals with a wide variety of needs and understand the importance of following an owner’s instructions carefully. I am mature, dependable, and responsible, and I understand what it means to have someone trust me with both a beloved animal and access to their home. I have reliable transportation, can offer flexibility with scheduling, and may be available with relatively short notice. Whether your pet is outgoing and immediately wants to make a new friend or needs a little more time and space to become comfortable, I am happy to meet them where they are. My goal is for you to have peace of mind while you’re away and for your pet to feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. I have one dog named, Cooper and two kitties named, Luna and Liebchen! I am comfortable watching your pet(s) in the clients home, preferably. Definitely cats, as mine get stressed out around new cats.

As always when you have someone you know absolutely nothing about, staying in your home and caring for two of your most beloved possessions, you’re nervous. Tara came before her stay and spent over two hours of her time meeting Draco and Murphy. She put my mind right at ease. She is very knowledgeable about caring for dogs and I’m pretty sure fell in love with them. I will most definitely seeking her care in the future.

About: Hi there! I'm Emma, and I've had a passion for working with animals for over a decade. I've grown up around and helped raise dogs and cats my whole life, but my real experience with dogs and pet sitting began in 2015 during my undergraduate years, when I worked at an indoor dog daycare for three years caring for a wide range of breeds, ages, and temperaments for up to six hours a day. That role gave me a strong foundation in reading dog behavior, managing group dynamics, and ensuring every pup felt safe and comfortable. Alongside my daycare work, I built a steady base of 2–3 private clients throughout both my undergraduate and graduate careers, providing regular dog and cat sitting on a more personal, one-on-one basis. I genuinely love getting to know each pet's unique personality and routine. My experience includes working with pets of all ages and breeds, those with anxiety or separation issues, and animals that require medication to be administered. Whether your pet needs lots of reassurance or just a calm, reliable presence, I'm here to make sure they're happy and well cared for while you're away! I'm currently in my third year of my PhD program at Penn State, and since I'm no longer taking classes, my schedule is much more flexible than it used to be. Most of my days are spent reading and writing from my laptop, which honestly makes me an ideal pet sitter, I'm home, I'm calm, and I have plenty of time to give your pet the attention they deserve. This means I can easily build my day around your pet's existing routine, whether that's morning walks, midday playtime, or afternoon naps on the couch next to me. I find that having a furry companion around actually makes those long work sessions much more enjoyable for both of us! I'm fully available for walks, overnight stays, and everything in between, and I'm always happy to follow whatever schedule works best for your pet. Whether I'm caring for your cat(s), dog(s), or both, my approach is the same: attentive, consistent, and tailored to your pet's individual needs. I'm naturally detail-oriented, and that really comes through in how I care for animals, I pay close attention to their behaviors, moods, and routines to make sure their day-to-day feels as normal as possible while you're away. My time working at an indoor dog daycare gave me hands-on training in dog safety, behavior, and best practices for creating a calm, secure environment, experience I carry into every sitting job. I know that a settled, predictable routine can make a big difference for pets, especially those that are sensitive to change or prone to anxiety, so I always make it a priority to follow your pet's existing schedule as closely as possible. My goal is for your pet to feel comfortable and at ease, and for you to feel confident that they're in good hands.

What a great petsitter! Virginia sent me regular updates and demonstrated she was giving my first babies ample attention. My hound had been stressed before I left but he was in good shape upon my return. I would book her again and recommend heartily.

FAQs for House Sitting - Zion

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Zion on Rover is $47.73 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 144 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Zion. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Zion walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Zion maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Zion choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
