“Shannon did a fantastic job! We were a little nervous about our how Kenji would do, since he barks continously at anyone new coming into the house. And Ammo, our cat, can be a little aggressive some times. Shannon did great with both of them. She sent us pics and kept us updated on their behavior. We could'nt be happier with the care they received. We had a relaxing vacation know our pets were in good hands. We highly recommend Shannon.”

“Allyson is an excellent dog sitter! She’s been wonderful with my YorkiePoo, Jamaica, while I work from home. She keeps him active and entertained throughout their time together, and it’s clear he genuinely enjoys her company. Jamaica always seems happy and well-exercised after their walks. I really appreciate how engaged and attentive she is with him. Highly recommend Allyson if you’re looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter!”

“Tess did a fantastic job taking care of our cats while we were on vacation. One of our cats has diabetes and she did great administering his insulin. She was very communicative and sent lots of pictures that we very much looked forward to. There were a few things that came up at the house that I needed help with, and she went above and beyond to help out. I was able to relax knowing my kiddos were in great hands. Will 110% book with Tess again!”

“Lexi has been doing a fantastic job at dropping in during the day to check on my puppy. Winnie just adores having her visit- i can tell! Highly recommend Lexi for anything you need. She’s been great and i plan to keep booking her!”

“We had to leave our fur family over the holidays. Lucky for us and them, Kara was available. She is great with our three cats; they now all greet her at the door. She provides excellent feedback, which is reassuring when traveling.”

“Valerie exceeded our expectations caring for our 13 year old dachshund. She spent ample time with him outside and ensured he ate. We enjoyed the updates with pictures which gave us confidence he was in good hands. We highly recommend Valerie and will request she care for our dog the next time we go out of town.”

“Sarah was amazing at coming in & helping me give medications to our two cats when my husband was out of town. Great communication + on time. Would definitely choose Sarah again for any Rover needs in the future!”

About: I have had the pleasure of taking care of dogs and cats of all ages since I was a young child. Every pet I’ve ever had the pleasure of loving has been in my life from the time they came home until they passed. My mom taught me at a young age that a pet was a lifelong relationship and responsibility and I took that very seriously! I believe that God put me on this planet to care for animals and be a mom. My children are grown and out of the house now so I have 4 dogs (Midas-9, Atlas-6, Echo-5 and Zuko-3.5) and 2 kitties (Boston-12 and Angel 1.5) and I would really like to help you care for your fur babies when you can’t do it. I promise to follow your instructions so your fur babies will get the best experience possible! I am in phlebotomy and patient care in my career but I plan to be a part of a rescue or sanctuary when I retire. I will continue to volunteer at the shelter as often as possible until then. I’m currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to play with and care for your pets! I am available for house sitting on weekends and some days I would be available to do daycare at my home. I have a fenced in yard and 4 small to medium sized dogs of my own that love to socialize! I have a fully fenced in backyard and 4 social dogs to keep your dog company, as well as a cat that enjoys being involved in the activities inside.
About: 🐾 Registered Veterinary Technician Providing Exceptional Pet Care 🐾 Hi! My name is Kelsey, and I am a Registered Veterinary Technician with 7 years of experience in the veterinary field. I currently work in both general practice and shelter medicine, where I care for pets of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments every day. Animals have always been my passion. I became a veterinary technician because I wanted to give animals a voice and help ensure they receive the care, comfort, and advocacy they deserve. As a pet sitter, I bring that same dedication into every visit. I offer drop-in visits, dog walking, and house sitting services throughout the Indianapolis area. Whether your pet needs a quick potty break, a long walk, medication administration, or companionship while you’re away, you can feel confident knowing they are in experienced and capable hands. My veterinary background allows me to provide a level of care that goes beyond traditional pet sitting. I am experienced in administering oral medications, insulin injections, subcutaneous fluids, and intramuscular injections. I am also trained to recognize changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, and overall health. If I notice anything concerning, I will not hesitate to contact you. At home, I share my life with a Husky, two Husky-Pitbull mixes, a German Shepherd mix, and a turtle. Caring for a diverse group of pets has given me firsthand experience with different personalities, energy levels, and care requirements. My goal is simple: to keep your pets safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away. I love building relationships with both pets and their owners and treating every animal as if they were my own. I am comfortable caring for: • Dogs of all sizes and breeds • Senior pets • Puppies and kittens • Multiple-pet households • Pets requiring medications or special care • Shy, nervous, or reactive pets I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I currently work full time but my schedule is flexible! If there are any specific needs you have, I am willing to accommodate you and your fur babies :) I currently care for my pets through a large privacy fence and lots of attention! Our pets are very routine-based, but I am also flexible when client’s pets have specific needs.
“This was our first time having Danielle check in on our cat, Prissy. It was great having her send pictures of Prissy and being in contact with us while we were out of town. Prissy tends to hide when new people come to visit, so I really appreciate Danielle taking the time and care in making sure Prissy was okay. It makes our trip so much better when we know Prissy will be taken care of.”

I do not host pets for boarding at my own home.
“My babies seemed very happy when we got home nearly like we hadn't been gone at all. Giana did a great job making sure they were attended to and we are looking forward to having her look in on our bouys in the future.”

“Cali was wonderful! I've never used a pet sitter before so I was a little apprehensive but there was no need to worry at all. She kept me updated with the visits and great pics. I know my kitty Missy loved her visits and I appreciated knowing she was in good hands.”

Morgan did an excellent job taking care of our pets. She took the time to spend time with them, including bringing her daughters along, which I'm sure made my dog especially very happy as she loves kids. I would highly recommend her and would absolutely ask for her help again whenever I go on another vacation.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Young. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
