“Zack is amazing ! He did a housesitting overnight stay with our dog Rony for 5 days - i really appreciated that he confirmed and checked on details in advance. He was great about sending pics of Rony while we were on family vacation. Zack left our place spotless and our dog very happy! Highly recommend and will be using his services again.”

“It's been a minute since I used Rover (eight or nine years goes by quick). I had a great Rover sitter out West many years ago when there was no whites on his face, butt, and paws. He was just a black pup then. He walked, ran, and leapt pain-free. 'Mack', like his owner, has just simply gotten older, and is described with whatever adjectives come with the word, 'old' since. Enter Angela. I reached out to her a couple weeks before I was leaving for a week, and she responded promptly. She came to my house a few days later, over the weekend, to meet him. Mack is vocal, overly so at times, and is protective of me, in spite of my attempts to dissuade that behavior, constantly, for 13 years. Get near me, he barks. Just the way it is. Angela gave him a treat here and there while being unwavered and kind to him. He was nipping her heels as I showed her around my place... ...still unwavered and kind. I knew she was the right person, and she took the job which was staying at my house with him for a week. She walked the old man every day, took excellent care of my house (absolutely not asked of her), easily navigated a farmer's dog diet, and fired happy/action pictures of my dog to me every evening. He was definitely loved. He showed his belly in return. He doesn't do that for just anyone. I could tell he was kinda bummed it was me in charge again when I returned. I wanna keep Angela to myself, but it's only fair to recommend her. She's responsible, beyond trustworthy, and truly great with doggies! Highly recommended!”

“Helena is INCREDIBLE!! I felt so at ease while away. Nala has quite the separation anxiety which makes it hard to leave because she can be a little high maintenance. Not once did I worry about her being left alone for long periods of time. Helena sent me a bunch of updates and pictures. She left the house super clean. I highly recommend her! Nala and I love her so much <3”

“Emily was great! She watched my dogs for the weekend and made sure they were well taken care of! She let me know when she stopped by and made sure they had plenty of play time, food, water, etc.. if you need a reliable sitter I would highly recommend Emily!”

“Olivia stayed w our 5 month old puppy, 4 year old dog, and 14 year old cat for 2.5 days. She took great care of them and our home. I really appreciated how she reached out daily for updates and to provide photos of our pets. Our pets were well loved in our absence. Highly recommend!”

“Clare did a fantastic job taking care of our 4 years old dog Rony. She surpassed all our expectations and we are so glad that we trusted her with the care of our dog while we are away . She was happy to meet up before the sit-in and she is an absolutely positive and lovely girl. Clare is super communicative and easy to work with and sent us daily updates and shared photos of the dog , playing with him and his favorite ball outside in the yard. Highly recommend 100% will definitely book her again if she is available for our next vacation.”

“Sharon was wonderful with watching and bringing our dog to our wedding. She clearly really cares about dogs and making sure they are comfortable and well cared for. We felt very comfortable with leaving him in her capable hands. We will certainly have our dog stay with Sharon again when we are back on the cape! We can’t recommend her more! Thank you Sharon!!”

“Susan stayed in my home with my 7 yo Weimaraner (Mya) while I was away for the weekend. My Weimy has a history of separation anxiety, so it's hard for me to find someone I feel comfortable with. Mya loved Susan when we did a meet and greet prior to her stay. I felt very comfortable having Susan staying with Mya. She sent pictures and updates throughout, and Mya clearly enjoyed her company! I will highly recommend Susan to any of my friends looking for pet care. She's very knowledgable and clearly an animal lover. My mind was at ease knowing Mya was able to stay in her own home with someone she liked and I felt comfortable caring for my furry child.”
“Wonderful and caring. I’m so happy to have found such a great person to watch over my two dogs. It helped to make our time away less stresssful for us all. Thank you Karen!”

About: I love all furry friends! I care for many different animals from cats to dogs to rabbits and guinea pigs. I have experience caring for disabled animals, puppies/kittens, and those that require medication and frequent trips outside. I am a full-time pet sitter with my focus primarily in visiting cats, dogs, as well as any other small animals. I am an avid dog walker and often walk several miles a day with my furry friends! I am flexible and very considerate of each individual pets needs. I am also aware of Owner’s needs and little things I can do while I am there to help. For those who go away for a longer periods of time, bringing in mail or little chores is no worry.
About: I have had dogs and cats all my life . I’m experienced walking large and small dogs. I love animals and have 2 dogs of my own ! I am also certified in Pet CPR and first aide ! I am currently working part time and have plenty of time to take care of your pet. I love to walk and be outdoors . I will treat your pet like they were my own ! I will respect your home and privacy . I am very reliable and a hard worker .
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life and career. I currently manage a veterinary hospital and have experience working alongside both general practice and emergency veterinary teams. As a pet parent to a nervous, reactive dog, I understand that every pet has unique needs and personalities. Whether your pet loves adventure, playtime, quiet companionship, or requires a little extra patience and understanding, I’ll make sure they receive attentive, compassionate care tailored to them. Currently working Full time and looking to do this as a side job. I would prefer dogs that are close to me to ensure I can do as many walks as possible. Working in the Vet Med field has taught me how incredibly important safety is. I follow the owner’s instructions to the tee and will put the pets safety as a top priority on all our walks.
“Skyla was great! She confirmed our plans and any instructions beforehand, and kept us updated with pictures and notes. She stayed at our house and everything was left in good order - including a very happy dog:)”

“Jen was the best sitter I could have found for my 115lb. Golden. I knew the day I met her and watched how Charlie reacted with her that she would be the person I could trust to stay with him. It was our first time leaving Charlie with anyone other than family, also it was the longest amount of time we would be gone. She stayed with Charlie for 6 days and 5 nights. Our flights were delayed both going and coming home. Jen was so accommodating, she came earlier than I had booked her for and stayed later at the end. I was completely at ease knowing Charlie was going to be so well cared for, even loved. He's such a creature of habit and Jen followed our routine perfectly. It was obvious from the way he reacted to Jen that he knew she was a good person and a dog lover. My husband and I will feel so much better about going away and leaving our dog, knowing that we will be able to call on Jen again. We were so fortunate to have found her!! Thank you so much Jen!!”

About: Working professional on Cape starting Rover to exercise more and be with animals! Your pup or kitty come first: what are the instructions we talked about? What’s their mood/temperament at this visit? How many cute pics can I get before my phone storage is full again? Jokes aside, your pets routine and health/safety are what I’m here to maintain — I’ll communicate, play, chat while I give them meds wrapped in peanut butter — you name it, I am paying attention to them. I am in it for the quality animal time! I spent my childhood with horses and learned young how deeply connected we are to our animals. I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life until lately. I’d be delighted to meet some of you here on Cape to watch over your little ones! I work full time and am available for dog walks reliably all weekend and after work. I accept weekend dog boarding. Cat boarding I accept throughout the week in addition to weekends. The animal comes first, simple as that. I offer dog walks around Cape, in home visits to feed and play in the yard, and selective boarding of pups in my own home as that’s limited to weekends only. I offer house visits to kitties as well as selective boarding in my own home. Each scenario is unique — let’s chat!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Yarmouth
We had an amazing experience with Susan watching our dog for the weekend. It was our first experience leaving our 7 year old stubborn and spoiled French bulldog with anyone but family. She came to our home for the weekend and took great care of our boy. Sending pictures and texts throughout the weekend made our trip worry free. Highly recommend!!

Our experience with Helena was absolutely fantastic! From the start, communication was clear, prompt, and reassuring. She took such great care of our pup, providing regular updates, photos, and plenty of love and attention. It was obvious our dog felt comfortable and happy the entire time. Highly recommend and will definitely book again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was our first time with Kristen and it went extremely well. She gave us frequent update updates with pictures, and really seemed to enjoy watching our two dogs. She came for a meet and greet prior to us leaving and our reactive/anxious dog did great with Kristen. I definitely plan on asking Kristen to watch our dogs again in the future.

FAQs for House Sitting - Yarmouth
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Yarmouth on Rover is $77.7 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 418 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Yarmouth. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Yarmouth walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Yarmouth maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Yarmouth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yarmouth. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
