David was perfect for my family of 3 fur babies! His communication was very good and prompt! He was on time and babies were content and happy. It was so nice not having to pack them and move them to a sitter! Will definitely be calling on David again to care for my family of 3!

Mary was beyond wonderful!! She did an extra meet n greet so the dogs could get be comfortable with her and her husband. They both took such great care of my babies, with plenty of cuddles and pets. She gave me updates every day, with photos and videos. She left the house completely spotless and smelling wonderful. She is definitely our new go to petsitter, and it’s such a relief to have someone we trust that we can contact. I can’t recommend her enough!

Meagan was amazing! Super communicative, lots of pictures which I love. She took such great care of Duke and my home. She also brought her gorgeous dog Raven who Duke fell head over paws for. Hehe. She took them on lots of hikes and adventures and even gave him a bath!!! Will 100% use Meagan again!

Can’t thank Sandy enough for taking such good care of my pups while I was gone. I get really nervous about new people watching them but after I saw Sandy interact with them I could go on my trip without constantly worrying & that means so much! Definitely booking again :)

Jennifer had a challenging sit with our cat and dog. We were gone for 8-9 days. She stayed with them and took on the challenges of our geriatric cat and reactive dog. She came to visit several times before our trip. It was important to her that things go well. Within several days, our dog was sleeping with her. She has a calm, kind, and trustworthy aura. Leaving our animals was going to be very stressful, but it wasn’t. We were able to enjoy our trip knowing our pets were being taken well care of. Would and probably will use her again. Thank you so very much Jen.

About: Hello my name is Courtney!! Let me share some things to you about me. I am hard of hearing person, having a dogs to care for bring the joy out of me. They know how to cheer you up. That all make me smile. It doesn’t matter what breeds, gender, or size to me. What matters to me is to make sure they are taking care of with full of love and care. I have 3 girls. Range from 12 to under 1 year old. I look forward to take care of your babies. On plus side I am deaf myself. Being disabled and unable to hear does not stop me loving animals. :) Right now I’m a full time mom with my youngest one. We pretty much stay home. Would love to get out of the house to see doggies. I can always make it work :) I have a full fenced yard where I can always play throwing toys, ball, even some splash of water spray if the dogs like water. There’s a small park around the corner that I can take them to. If it’s a client home I follow what client do to their pets :)

I am thrilled to share my positive experience with Linda for the second time! Once again, she exceeded my expectations while taking care of my fur-babies. Linda is incredibly attentive and truly understands my dog's needs. She provided regular updates, shared cute photos and videos that made my time away so much easier. It was clear that my dog felt comfortable and happy, which is all I could ask for. Her dedication to ensuring my fur-baby was well cared for means the world to me. I can't recommend Linda enough! I have already booked her two more times.

About: I began watching dogs in my neighborhood about two years ago and have LOVED it since. I do all breeds and sizes! I am capable of watching multiple dogs at once if needed! Despite me working part-time in Mount Dora and in Clermont, neighbors and I have always found a way to work around it, whether I come right before/right after a shift or just simply depending on their dog’s own capabilities. In Mount Dora, I am typically only gone for about a maximum of 5-6 hours, while Clermont may be a little over 8. When watching inside the homes of my clients, I ensure to keep attentive focus on the dog(s) at all times. I ALWAYS use a leash when letting them out unless it is already a fenced in area. On walks, I use caution and stay alert with other possible dogs walking. I try to keep distance if I know a dog is reactive by either moving to the other side of the street or simply turning and walking the other direction.

About: I’ve grown up taking care of animals my whole life. From neighbors, colleagues, and family. I’ve got two rescues myself and have learned to be extremely patient. I love taking care of animals and showing them they are valued companions, through: walking, feeding, bathing, playing fetch, all of the good things. I have availability on the weekends and most breaks. Mt full time job is an elementary school teacher. I’m not accessible during weekdays between 7:30-4:00. I will be continuing to walk dogs/house sit throughout the school year and the summer! I currently have a dog of my own, that gets his own daily walks and outside time. Preferably when its cooler out. I make sure, that he is getting ample time outside while also managing the heat and weather. I have no problem going on walks dependent on what your dogs needs are, playing fetch, potentially teaching sit and paw to your dog as well. Water, food, and crate clean ups are no big deal!

Our Dog, Blu, took to Destiny immediately (good sign) and I could tell she would be a great in-home sitter for our week away. She asked all the right questions regarding his care and feeding, took good care of him and our home, and communicated daily with updates. She ensured he went for walks and got lots of attention. I definitely recommend Destiny will book her again.

Once again, Cooper and Ginger were very happy with David staying with them. He kept them safe, exercised and fed. We came home to nice Spa music on and the pets were nice and happy.

David (who actually prefers the nickname "Jack" ) was absolutely phenomenal with our dogs! We have 2 small dogs, one-is very social but the second is very skittish and reluctant to be around people and typically hides in a corner somewhere until the person leaves. She was skittish & shy with Jack at first, but what a difference in just a short time! She was walking around him with her tail up & sleeping next to him on the living room chair! He was very patient and attentive with both of our dogs. Neither lacked for attention. Jack was very flexible for our needs & schedule. We had him stay inside our house for two entire days and was able to feel comfortable with him the entire time. He listened closely to what we expected and followed through without hesitation. He sent us a picture of our dogs and a text during the day to update us on our dogs while we were away to help aleve our worries being away from our babies. Even then, I still touched base with him during the day to check in and give him our updates and he was always quick to respond. I highly recommend Jack and would not hesitate to use him again! Thank you very much!

⸻ David did an amazing job caring for our pets and house sitting while we were away. He took excellent care of our dogs—one who is incontinent and another who had just had surgery and staples removed. He handled everything with patience and responsibility, gave our pup her meds as needed, and made sure all four of our dogs got their walks. He also looked after our cat and kept everything in order at the house. We felt completely at ease knowing our pets were in such good hands. Highly recommend David!

FAQs for House Sitting - Yalaha

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Yalaha on Rover is $26.75 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 1,973 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Yalaha. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Yalaha walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Yalaha maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Yalaha choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yalaha. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
