“We were lucky enough to be her very first client on Rover, and we can already tell she is going to be wonderful. She took such great care of our senior dog, who can be picky about going outside depending on the weather. Rather than forcing the issue, she patiently tried to coax her out and, when my dog wasn’t having it, she simply stayed in and cuddled with her instead. That kind of patience and attentiveness means everything when it comes to an older dog. We could tell our girl loved her right away! We have already recommended her to a few friends, and we will absolutely be booking her again.”

About: I have taken care of all types of animals all my life. Exotic pets, as well as cats and dogs. I have a kitty baby of my own who I fostdopted In 2018 I have a 9-5 but It’s flexible as i work from home. I can do multiple short visits as needed, I know my baby gets anxious when no one is home. I have the utmost care and respect for animals, they need love attention and affection like any creature. I nurture and speak to them and will give the best treats ( i have a chewy account)
“I hired Samantha through the Rover app for drop-in visits while I was out for work for 12 hours, and she did an amazing job. She arrived on time for every visit, made sure my girls were let out and cared for, and sent thoughtful updates each time, which really put my mind at ease. I was extremely nervous since I had never left my fur babies with a stranger before, but Sarah was wonderful and made the entire experience stress-free. I felt confident knowing they were in great hands. I will absolutely be hiring her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable, caring pet care.”

“Alana visited my two senior cats everyday consistently at the same time to keep them used to their schedule. She was very responsive every time I asked her a question and sent me pictures every day too. She followed all my requests; I could not have asked for a better pet-sitting experience. I will definitely re-book Alana next time I leave town.”

“Leslie is wonderful! I feel so much better knowing that our newly adopted dog has a break from the crate while we are at work. I love seeing the photos and detailed updates after her visits.”

“Chrissy was incredible! I was anxious about leaving my cat, especially because she’s skittish around people, but Chrissy went above and beyond to stay on contact with me and was so good with my cat. She’s wonderful!”

“Shelby was such a pleasure to work with on short notice. She took excellent care of my boys and even got my scaredy cat to come out of hiding. Highly recommend and would definitely work with her again!”

“Jenny took great care of my cat for the weekend. He is my world, of course, so it means a lot that she took the time and had patience to help my shy cat warm up. She asked great questions at our Meet & Greet and took good care of him so I’m happy and so is he. Thanks Jenny!”

“Super duper dogwatch trooper! Provided regular updates and timely pics. Great attention to detail, remembering little quirks I told her about our dog. I’d say even nicer things, but I’d rather keep her a secret ;)”

“Amazing!!!!! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Lauren! She was so kind and attentive, and it was clear she genuinely cared for our cat. We appreciated the updates and photos—it really put us at ease while we were away.😊 I’d absolutely recommend Lauren’s services to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful sitter. 10/10!”

“Excellent pet care!!!!!!! Aubrey was a blessing. It was our first time away from two of our cats. We weren't certain how they would respond, especiallyPercy who has attachment issues to his "dad" and whines when he leaves the house. They were happy and well cared for by Aubrey. A relief for both us and our fur family. I highly recommend Aubrey to care for your furry friends!”

About: I have two dogs of my own, and I am quite experienced with handling dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I have received training on how to better understand the signals that dogs give us in order to determine how they are feeling (scared, excited, cautious, angry, etc.), and I have applied that training to my previous job at a doggy daycare countless times. I graduated college in December of 2016, and I’m still figuring out how to combine my Hospitality Management degree and my passion for caring for animals! I really enjoy dog walking because I find happiness in knowing that I provide comfort and peace of mind to those owners who aren’t able to be with their fur babies in the middle of the day!
About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for many years. From middle school through high school, I was the primary caregiver for my own dog. I was responsible for feeding, grooming, bathing, training, walks, keeping up with vaccinations, and her overall care. When she had puppies, I helped care for them until they were ready for their new homes. Since then, I’ve continued caring for my mom’s and sister’s dogs whenever they need help. I’ve also provided pet care for a friend’s dog and have cared for two different cats through both drop-in visits and overnight/in-home care. I understand that every pet has its own personality and routine, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I will treat your pets with the same care and attention I would give my own. I love taking photos of the pets I care for and sending regular updates to their owners, so they know their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine, allowing me to provide dependable and attentive care for your pets. I offer drop-in visits, dog walks, and house sitting, and I do my best to be flexible with scheduling. I’ll make sure your pet stays on their normal routine with plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and affection while you’re away. I’ll also send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind. I understand that every pet is unique, so I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and any special needs they may have. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and home security. My goal is to help your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while keeping their routine as consistent as possible. I also enjoy sending photo updates so you can relax knowing your pets are in good hands.
“Lauren did so great! She was thorough and went above and beyond. She communicated and let us know on all the animals happenings. We will definitely use her services in the future!”

“Marne is the best! She visits my Harper on drop-in visits and gives me peace of mind in knowing he is well taken care of. Harper loves Marne which makes me happy. I highly recommend Marne to take great care of your furry family members!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Wye Creek
We had the best experience working with Jenny. It was our first time working with her for a trip where we wouldn’t have cell phone service for the entirety. We didn’t need to worry at all because Jenny took great care of our cats. We have four cats with specific eating instructions, one of whom hides from strangers. Jenny followed our notes exactly with no issues and got our scaredy cat to be her friend! We will continue to use Jenny for all of our pet sitting needs. Thank you, Jenny!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
