“Destiny is AMAZING! After having to cancel a horrible dog sitter she immediately stepped up to help. My dog absolutely loves her! She is a 10/10 and will always try to book with her first!”
“Raven was great! Kept us up to date with notes and pictures. Paid more attention to when our dogs go to the bathroom than I do. Gave lots of love to our pets. Looking forward to continuing working together!”

“Nikkita was perfect. We needed a walker same day with very little notice and she came through to walk our boy. She was very sweet and communicated everything with us. We would definitely use her again.”

About: I've had dogs for over 25 years and most recently I'm caring for a dog with a seizure disorder. Everything from young energetic puppies to elderly dogs. I have worked with an organization called Missing Pet Partnership (an organization started by a police officer who trained scent detection dogs). I was trained to find lost pets and the psychology of dogs and cats including training in pet first aid and CPR. My previous career was as a special education teacher. I now work full-time from home. I would love to play with and care for your pup! No pet too big or small. I hope to hear from you, thanks. I am currently working full-time from home and I will have plenty of time to play with your for baby I'm available for boarding on weekdays, weekends, nights and even holidays. I work from home and have a very large fenced yard that is fully secure for the smallest dog and 5 and a 1/2 feet tall for larger dogs. My home is set back from the road on a quiet private street for your peace of mind. I have two small friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. I can crate your dog if needed based on your preference and socialization with my dogs is entirely up to you. My home has separate areas to accommodate a variety of situations including multi pet homes that crate and rotate dogs, dogs with medical needs who need to be in separate areas, etc. For overnight stays I will tailor your dogs experience to ensure it is a home away from home.
“Violeta took great care of our pups while we were away. She played with them and spent cuddle time too. We appreciated the pictures sent as well. It is obvious that our pups enjoyed Violeta. We will definitely book Violeta again!!”

About: I have walked dogs for family and friends over the past 5 years. They have taught me how to handle their dogs when crossing the street, as well as making sure their dogs need to use the bathroom while on the walk (as well as bagging and disposing of waste after they went). I also made sure that the dogs did not overheat and got plenty of water before and after their walks. I know how to use a harness, a retractable leash, and a regular leash for dog walking. I have also cared for my family and friends' dogs over the past years. I have learned when they need to go out, what times they need walks, when their meal times are, and what kind of play they like to engage in. I have also given their dogs nutritional supplements (in the form of pills, treats, etc), and I have given their dogs specific nutritional food that they need. I also learned what kind of playtime they love to engage in, and I made sure that they have gotten the physical activity they needed. I very much enjoy taking care of dogs, as well as having a great playtime session with them! I am currently working part-time, so I have time to pet-sit and walk dogs, as well as pet-sit for cats. Because I am a part-time graduate student, I have classes on Monday nights. My hours are open for the rest of the week. I am able to commute to pet-sit and will follow the rules of a client's home to ensure that the environment is safe, hygienic, and happy for their pet(s). I'll make sure that the pets are always supervised, that they are well-fed, properly hydrated, walked, and have a great, engaging playtime session! I will always care for their needs and always communicate with their owners as well.

I have 1 cat , our apartment is cat friendly and quiet with 2 adult caretakers. I have had 3 cats previously. They can be such good companions. “Tracie is a 5 STAR pet sitter !! Lucky was well cared for and seemed happy to see her each day. Additionally, we were well informed about Lucky each day. We would recommend Tracie to anyone requiring pet care.”

“Courtney was so great with Nittany! We had a bit of an unconventional ask to pick Nittany up from our wedding and bring her to daycare and Courtney was very easy to communicate with and was such a huge help on a very busy day.”

I am a full time remote employee and have a flexible schedule. I am available to care for your furry loved one every day of the week. I can feed, walk, crate or play with your dog. About: I grew up taking care of our Newfoundland from a puppy. I was his primary caretaker for brushing him, walking him, and feeding him. When I moved out, I helped my parents take care of him until he passed a few years ago from arthritis in his hips. Since I moved out, I adopted two cats from the shelter. I recognize that our animals are part of our families. I follow directions and schedules well, and will strive to provide the best care for your furry family members. I work 7am-3:30pm Mondays through Fridays, so I’m primarily available in the evenings during weekdays. I’m fully available on weekends for pet care. I also have most/federal holidays off, so I will be able to work long weekends. I will use whatever supplies that you have and your pet prefers. I will not bring anything else without your permission. I will make sure to follow directions and schedules as closely as possible, and keep you informed of how your pet is doing.
“Brian & Tanya were amazing and im glad we found them. They sent us so many photos of our fur babies every visit. They were great with our pets and very pleasant to work with all around. We will absolutely book with them again in the future. If you're reading this review trying to decide who to go with look no further you found the best :)”
“Amarichi was a lifesaver! We needed drop-in visits, walking, and feeding for our two pups.(One senior, perpetual toddler, 14-year-old Cockapoo, and a 4-year-old Boxer mix. Amarichi arrived on time, she sent updates with photos; she was very helpful with problem solving; and she provided solutions for unexpected situations (our Cockapoo wouldn’t let our other furbaby eat or drink in peace.) Amarichi is a true gem, we’ll definitely rebook her services again. I absolutely recommend Amarichi, without question.”

“Julia was absolutely amazing! She was right on time, very flexible, super sweet, and treated my puppy, Fern, like her own! She and Fern became fast friends, and Fern was very sad to see Julia go. I’ll be booking with Julia again, no question about that!”

“I recently had the pleasure of working with Briana, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From our first interaction, it was clear that she had a genuine love for animals and a deep understanding of dog care. Briana took the time to get to know my dogs' personalities, habits, and specific needs, which put me at ease right away. During the time I was away, she provided regular updates and adorable photos, which reassured me that my pups were in great hands. Thank you Briana”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wrangle Hill
As usual Jenna was fantastic. Her daily reports of her visits are always a fun read and her willingness to clean up after the cats is a HUGE plus in using her. We came home to a clean house and happy cats and couldn’t speak highly enough of her. We highly recommend using Jenna to take care of your pets.
Alley provided not only care but true attention to our elderly cat while we were away. Our cat started to come up to her when she arrived and "told" her what she needed that is a good sign that she liked and trusted her. And Alley provided updates and photos each visit which we truly appreciated. I highly recommend Alley!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
