“We recently worked with Tracy in Frederick, MD to watch out two pups while we were away for about a week. This was the first time we asked someone who wasn't a family or immediate friend to watch our home and pups, and we would welcome her into our home again! She did an excellent job keeping us in the loop while sending adorable pictures of them playing in the yard and hanging around the house. She established a quick bond with our dogs, one of which is on anxiety medications, and it was clear they got along with Tracy well during her stay. Her support gave us peace of mind while we traveled, and we look forward to working with her agin.”

“Adrienne was absolutely wonderful to work with! She sent us tons of really spectacular photos of our pets while we were away, and we were left with absolutely no worries whatsoever. We will absolutely be using Adrienne's services in the future!”

“Jessica was awesome! Our dogs loved her and she really stepped in during a time of panic for us when we lost our original dog sitter 2 days before vacation. 5-star rating all around and we will definitely book with her again!”

“Jennifer was great with my fur babies! She sent frequent updates and they were comfortable and happy to stay at home while I was away! Will be using her again in the future!”

“Miranda is very professional, responsible, and communicative! She visited us before the job to meet us and our pups, and we could tell right away that she was warm and friendly and asked all the right questions to prepare for the job. We needed someone to spend a lot of time at our home since our youngest dog could not yet be trusted alone for a long time, and she was completely up for that. We got regular updates and pictures throughout her stay without any prompting and we returned to a clean home and two relaxed and happy pups. I highly recommend Miranda! She is the best dog/home sitter we've ever had.”

“Once again, Taylor did an amazing job taking care of our dog. It felt great to be away and feel confident that he was in good hands. And she sends THE best update photos. We'll definitely come back to Taylor again.”

About: I will spoil your pets as if they were my own! I have my own dog, Jovie. She is a 9 month old lab mix and very strong willed. She is also in training to become a service dog. I am used to taking care of big dogs, but have no problem with small ones as well. I will walk and do drop ins to make sure your four legged baby is well taken care of! Currently, I am available most days. Since I was little, animals have always been a big part of my life. From puppies to senior dogs and tiny hatchlings to full grown tortoises, every animal is just a baby and should be taken care of as such. In all my years pet sitting, never have I met a pet that didnt become a friend. I love walking my dog everyday, and multiple times a day. As a high energy breed, she very much thrives from multiple walks and one on one time with mom.
“Sara was absolutely amazing! One of our dogs can be a little nervous meeting new people, and Sara was so patient. She came in, sat down, and let Heidi get comfortable at her own pace. She even brought her own treats, which the dogs loved. While we were away, she checked in regularly with photos and videos, and we really appreciated that. And when we got home, I swear the house was even cleaner than when we left it. Truly a 10/10 experience. Sara was fantastic!”

“Laurie was great with my dogs and cat for the weekend. She sent many pictures that I loved seeing while away from my fur babies. On time and very respectful of my house. I came home to no messes and happy pets”

“Matthew was such a wonderful choice to sit with our pets. He was very friendly, and our pets seemed to be very comfortable with him. He helped us out so much when we were in a bind. I would definitely have him sit for us again in the future and highly recommend.”

“Max took excellent care of our laid-back and easygoing dog, ensuring that he was well-cared for and comfortable while we were away. The replies to my outreach, provided us immense peace of mind, knowing that our boy was in good hands.”

“Amber was amazing! She shared lots of pics of our big guy while we were away and I could tell he was enjoying himself. It was great to be away knowing our house and pup were in good hands!”

“Devon helped watch our 5 pups while away on a business trip. He had excellent updates with pictures to help ease our minds. We secured his services for two future trips and we feel luck to have found him!”
“This was our first time having anyone other than family watch our dog. Also, the first time having someone stay in our home. David was excellent with our dog as well as respectful of our home. The house was as we left it with no mess or anything. Very appreciative of a great first experience for in home dog sitting. Thanks, David!”

“Kaila was amazing!! She took care of my German Shepherd while I was away for the weekend. She kept me updated the whole time and I’m so grateful she took such a good care of my baby!”

“Karen is an amazing pet sitter!! She took wonderful care of our energetic pup while we were on vacation! She kept us informed with lots of photos, videos, and detailed updates. Karen was incredibly caring and attentive to his needs and safety, making sure he got plenty of belly rubs, cuddles, playtime, and exercise. She also took excellent care of our home, and left everything perfectly clean and tidy. We were truly able to enjoy our vacation, knowing our pup was in such great hands. We would love to have Karen watch our pup again in the future, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dedicated, caring pet sitter!!”

“Kaylie was a lifesaver for us! Greeted our high energy puppy with calmness and kept her well entertained while we were out of town. Got frequent pics and updates, so we knew she was doing well while we were away!”

“Heidi tool great care of my pup, Felix. She was very organized and made sure she had a list of questions to fully understand his routine before I went out of town. She made sure to give me updates throughout the day and was responsive to all my inquiries. I highly recommend Heidi for any of your pet care needs!”

Rochelle did an excellent job watching our two pups over a long weekend. She got along with them right away, helped us administer daily medications, and kept me and my wife up to date with fun pictures, videos each day. She kept our house in excellent shape, and she even left us a pressed four leaf clover that she found in our yard. We look forward to booking with her again!

If I could give Ellen a higher rating I would. She was amazing with my dog Kylo.. going for daily walks/hikes and reserving play time around the farm. The photo updates along the way gave me peace of mind while I was out of town and by the end of his stay, I’m not so sure he wanted to come home! We’ll be returning very soon. Thanks, Ellen!

Lily was so great with my dog reactive girl, Serenity! She kept me up to date the entire visit regarding meal consumption and how she did on walks. She also sent many pictures of my baby, which made being away a little easier. Five stars! Will absolutely re book in the future!

FAQs for House Sitting - Wooded Acres
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 2,160 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wooded Acres. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wooded Acres walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wooded Acres maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wooded Acres choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
