“Brian did a drop in visit for our teenage golden retriever, Ranger! From the meet-and-greet through the actual visit, Brian has been super communicative! He was also very reassuring, as I was clearly worried Ranger would decide to be a teenage menace and give him a hard time. He sent photos and a nice overview of his visit. Would definitely use again!”

“As always, Laura took the best care of our 2 pups. She communicates every detail and takes great care to meet all their needs. You can always tell she cares! Thank you!!”

“Amy is amazing! She was very responsive, and took great care of Odin. We loved the personalized messages and pictures she sent after each visit. You can tell she loves what she does, and we would absolutely use her services again!”

“Very pleased with Katie's service, posted plenty of pictures and interacted with me when I had questions and requests. The cats looked like they enjoyed play time and were just as happy when I came back as when I left.”

“Wesley is so wonderful. I have a very skittish Mastiff and Wesley went out of his way to bond with him. He took the best care of both my dogs. He was prompt and accommodating. I would recommend him to anyone.”

“Garrett was awesome! He was very communicative from the beginning and was on time and attentive to our cats' needs every day. One of our boys had a little accident and he went out of his way and cleaned it up! Would definitely recommend him and will use him again in the future!”

About: Growing up, I have always found it easy and rewarding to take care of animals I have learned to be very attentive and receptive to the needs of furry friends and just find them to be such nice listeners in return 😂 We used to have a house full of dogs and cats and it was more a pleasure, than a chore, to get to interact and take care of them. All that to say, I am completely confident and comfortable in my ability to assist in any way when it comes to our four (or 1,2, and 3) legged pals! I just moved to the Richmond/Midlothian area so I’m looking for some good chances to earn some savings doing what I love!! I have pretty open availability! I don’t sit at my house only for the fact of my two French and English bulldog babies! They tend to get tense and wouldn’t want any discomfort for any other pet! I am very respectful to the needs of the client and their furry companions!!
About: I grew up in our farm owning & taking care of all kinds of animals. Fostered cats/dogs with Humane Societies in different states before we finally settled after military life. Growing up on a farm surrounded by animals, I’ve developed strong intuition to sense pets' unique needs; if they are feeling sick, anxious, etc. I can follow with your pet’s medical needs/routine. I’m home all day except for quick errands hence pets under my care get lots of human interactions, cuddles & play time. Frequent potty breaks. I believe in holistic lifestyle hence I use pet friendly; no harsh chemical cleaning supplies. Hygiene is super important to me. Old habits from my hospital volunteering days + I’m a clean freak as per my family 😆 I'm a homemaker. I enjoy taking care of my indoor plants, garden, and our mini goldendoodle Hazel. I'm home majority of the day; hence your fur babies will get to have lots of cuddles, love, and playtime in our big fenced in yard. We have lovely, clean & spacious home; hence pups get to have a lot of space/freedom to roam. Or retrieve if they want some space. No choking hazard toys. I love taking pictures, videos & update with your precious pooch. You can FaceTime your pets if it’s extended stay or as per need. I love making pets stay as comfortable as possible & giving peace of mind to owners. As a pet owner myself, I know how much small things matter! I've a huge fenced in yard, Hazel, our super friendly mini golden doodle would give a company to any dog & make them feel comfortable. Lots of play, cuddles & free to roam. However, I've an ability to gate off the rooms if it's needed, or as per request. I live near the lake & take my dog to daily AM/PM walks. As a pet owner, I know the anxiety of trying to find a safe home to fur babies, someone who'd love/care for them as their own.
“Hannah was a lifesaver for us while we were visiting Gatlinburg!! We were able to spend the whole day at Dollywood and have our pup taken out twice so we could stay at the park. She did a great job and sent pictures of our little puppers to know she was ok!! Thank you Hannah!!”

“Françoise is amazing she is sweet, kind and just good hearted person. She was amazing to work with my dog was very comfortable! She was even able to work with my crazy changing schedule. Look forward to work with her again!”

“Katie is an exceptional animal caretaker. I highly recommend her services to anyone seeking proper care for their pets. We’ll definitely be using her services every time we can in the future.”

“We had a great experience with Thomas! He went above and beyond with Dexter, walking him all over the neighborhood, playing with him in the backyard, and giving him enough exercise to tire him out. The communication was excellent and we’ll be sure to reach out to him in the future!”

About: Animals have been part of my life since I was little. Dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, lizards, fish. Our house was always full of them and that never really stopped. I have spent my whole life around all kinds of animals, watching them for friends and family, learning what they need, and genuinely loving every minute of it. Animals know. They know when someone is comfortable around them and they know when someone actually cares. I have always been someone they warm up to quickly because I take the time to actually see them. What makes them happy, what stresses them out, whether they want to play or just want someone nearby. I follow their lead every time. Every pet I care for gets treated like my own. I am semi-retired and my schedule is genuinely flexible. Mornings, midday, evenings, multiple visits in a day if that is what your pet needs. Pet care is not something I am squeezing in between other things. It is something I actually want to be doing. I am semi-retired and my schedule is genuinely flexible. “Erika is the best. She always takes care to make sure our pets have the best experience. Thank you for dropping in to feed our cats, and give one of them medicine. We feel so secure trusting Erika with our home and pets.”

About: Hello everyone! I have been pet sitting on and off for over 10 years. I started pet sitting for neighbors and friends when I was 14 and continued throughout highschool and college. Based on my own availability, I can provide day check-ins , walks, overnights, medications, and specific/special dietary needs. I work as a dental assistant and am currently taking classes to go to hygiene school. I would love to be trusted to watch your pet for you, I love animals, which is the reason I began pet sitting in the first place. I currently work as a dental assistant and am also taking classes to go to dental hygiene school in the near future. I work full time, however I have one day off every week, never work weekends, and my bosses are very easy to work with when it comes to the work schedule. I always follow the instructions given to me by the owners, and don’t stray away from those guidelines. I do walks when needed, and also spend a little bit of time with the animals to keep them company while their parents are away. I will cuddle with any pet that wants, but also give space for the ones that don’t. I’m very big on paying attention and reading an animals energy in order to make sure they are happy and comfortable, and also making sure all parties will be safe in the process as well.

“Kristen was great! She saved our vacation and came and took care of our cat Rocky when the sitter we had booked canceled at 5 pm the night before. She gave Rocky lots of love and even recused my plants”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Winterpock. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
