Erika was absolutely amazing! She was so good and so sweet with my dog! She took her on such a long walk and I got to see videos of her playing at the dog park. I’m always nervous being away from my baby so getting to see videos made me feel so good! She went above and beyond and I am so thankful! Will be booking her every time I need a walker for Mabel!

Brian does a great job with our two large, energetic dogs. He follows instructions exactly and gives us great updates. He is very responsive to communication and booking requests. One of our dogs is a young, and strong boxer who gets overexcited when meeting new people or passing other dogs. Brian handles him very well and we are comfortable knowing both dogs are safe in good hands.

About: I’ve been watching neighborhood and family pets since I was 13, both cats and dogs, elderly and young. I know when to give attention or whether to give them space. I’m auditioning for local theatres in Richmond, so my schedule is rather flexible. Weekends and weekdays are currently open, with room for rehearsals and show dates. I’d cater to whatever the pet needs. Some animals like to explore, so I’d supervise as they do so. Others are more reclusive, so I’d keep watch from a respectful distance.

About: Growing up with both cats and dogs gave me the experience I need to take care of a wide variety of critters. My favorite is my mini dachshund, Chipper, who I raised and trained myself from a young age. I continue to give my little buddy high quality care 9 years later as he's battling his unfortunate health conditions. I plan on treating your pets with the same sort of love and consideration! I'm a student at JMU and I am home in Moseley, VA for the summer of 2026! I would be more than happy to work with you! My calendar has the correct dates available! I treat your pets with the same love and care I give my own. They deserve nothing but the best, and I’m dedicated to providing just that! I’ll shower your pet with affection and treat them like royalty—because they truly are.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs for 9 years now. I have walked them, dropped in for visits when requested, and treated them as if they were mine. I have experience with dogs of all ages. For me, taking care of your furry family member is a privilege. I want you to know your dog is as important to me as they are to you. I am currently enrolled in college locally. Therefore, I am very flexible because my classes are online. My schedule can easily be adjusted to accommodate your needs. I have a dog and cat who I care for on a regular basis. I play with my dog as well as I give both of them a lot of attention. I also comfort my dog and cat if they are stressed.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of any size and age. My neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me for many years to watch over their pets. From dogs, cats, and even horses, I have kept animals safe and happy. During visits I can take pets on walks, play with them, administer medicine, and provide proper clean up! I am currently home from college right now, so I have a lot of free time! For me, pet care will be a priority this summer. I’m available at all hours during the day, aside from a couple of weeks this summer where I will be out of town! I will have plenty of time to keep your pets happy! In your home, I will ensure your pets are consistently in a safe environment. I will remove any hazards in your pet’s space, ensure leashes/harnesses are intact before walks, properly lock doors before leaving, and I can safely crate your pet if needed.

About: I have two cats and two dogs myself and have been dog sitting since 14 years old. I love going on walks and love to be able to take a buddy with me! I recently got a puppy who I have been training and could pass on my self taught skills onto your animal if wanted. I love animals which is why I chose to sign up on rover ! I currently am doing online college so do not have a full time or part time job! I am available whenever for whatever your pets needs are! I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment where your pets can feel comfortable and secure. I always prioritize their safety by keeping a close eye on them, following routines exactly as instructed, and making sure they’re in a clean, pet-friendly space at all times. Building trust is really important to me, so I take the time to understand each pet’s personality, needs, and boundaries to make sure they feel at ease. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or just relaxing, I create a positive and stress-free environment where your pets are treated like my own.

About: Hello everyone! I have been pet sitting on and off for over 10 years. I started pet sitting for neighbors and friends when I was 14 and continued throughout highschool and college. Based on my own availability, I can provide day check-ins , walks, overnights, medications, and specific/special dietary needs. I work as a dental assistant and am currently taking classes to go to hygiene school. I would love to be trusted to watch your pet for you, I love animals, which is the reason I began pet sitting in the first place. I currently work as a dental assistant and am also taking classes to go to dental hygiene school in the near future. I work full time, however I have one day off every week, never work weekends, and my bosses are very easy to work with when it comes to the work schedule. I always follow the instructions given to me by the owners, and don’t stray away from those guidelines. I do walks when needed, and also spend a little bit of time with the animals to keep them company while their parents are away. I will cuddle with any pet that wants, but also give space for the ones that don’t. I’m very big on paying attention and reading an animals energy in order to make sure they are happy and comfortable, and also making sure all parties will be safe in the process as well.

About: Hi there! I’m Fabrizio, proud dog parent to Bruno, my 5-year-old buddy who taught me that every pup has their own personality and needs. Over the years I’ve also cared for the pets of friends and family — from playful puppies to older dogs that just need extra love and attention. I’m flexible, reliable, and love keeping owners updated with pics and messages. With me, every walk is an adventure and every cuddle feels like home. 🐾🐶 I work as an independent sports agent, which means most of my job is done from my phone and laptop. Because of this, I have a very flexible schedule and can easily adjust my day around walks, drop-in visits, or pet sitting. Whether it’s mornings, afternoons, evenings, or even weekends, I can usually make it work. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s routine and find the perfect times to keep them happy and cared for. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. When I’m in your home, I respect your space and follow all instructions carefully to make sure your pets feel comfortable and secure. I treat every house as if it were my own, with responsibility and care. On walks, I’m always alert to surroundings, traffic, and other animals. I keep dogs safely leashed, avoid risky situations, and make sure they get exercise in a fun but safe way. You can trust that your pets will always be in good hands with me.

About: Animals have been part of my life since I was little. Dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, lizards, fish. Our house was always full of them and that never really stopped. I have spent my whole life around all kinds of animals, watching them for friends and family, learning what they need, and genuinely loving every minute of it. Animals know. They know when someone is comfortable around them and they know when someone actually cares. I have always been someone they warm up to quickly because I take the time to actually see them. What makes them happy, what stresses them out, whether they want to play or just want someone nearby. I follow their lead every time. Every pet I care for gets treated like my own. I am semi-retired and my schedule is genuinely flexible. Mornings, midday, evenings, multiple visits in a day if that is what your pet needs. Pet care is not something I am squeezing in between other things. It is something I actually want to be doing. I am semi-retired and my schedule is genuinely flexible. About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats my entire life. I am looking forward to opportunities to care for your dog(s) or cat(s) while you are away and love them like they were my own. I have a fenced in yard and live in a wonderful neighborhood with lots of walking trails. I have three children, ages 10, 12, and 14 that grew up with dogs and learned how to be loving and respectful to animals. I’m a high school teacher so I’m able to be home during the summer and school holidays. My routine includes a morning, afternoon and an evening walk after dinner. The fenced backyard provides opportunities for exercise outside of walks. I follow your pets normal feeding schedule and will only provide the food and treats that you provide to avoid any allergy or food intolerance concerns. On school days, my husband is typically working from home so there is usually someone home without long periods of being left home alone. Pets are cared for as part of the family and receive lots of love and attention.

We used Katie for the first time and she did a great job. She went above and beyond to take care of our 10 year springer spaniel. We were updated regularly and our dog looked to be in better shape than we left him and very happy. She is very trustworthy and she is the only person we would use in the future.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
