“Great Experience! Wonderful experience with Emmie! She took great care of our dogs, kept us updated, and gave them plenty of love and attention. We felt completely at ease knowing our fur babies were in good hands. Highly recommend!”

“Forever will use Lori when we have to go out of town! We had the worst travel luck this weekend and Lori stayed to make sure our 3 dogs were taken care of while we figured out a way to get home. So thankful for the love and care Lori provides for our fur babies”

“Heather was responsive, kind, and did an amazing job with our super senior pup, Rocky, and our newest addition Martha! We had only had Martha for a week when we did the meet and greet, and Heather was very understanding and flexible with the unknowns of a newly adopted dog. We did not have a single worry while we were away for the weekend and we came home to a clean home and 2 content dogs!”

“Tracy was such a great sitter for our multiple pets while we were away. We have a senior dog that was having some issues while we were away and Tracy took incredible care of her and kept us updated with all information without having to ask. She was very patient and kind with our pets and definitely recommend her to others!”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life and enjoy working with them. I currently have 3 dogs that require lots of attention! Most dogs take an instant liking and trust with me and so do cats. I have no allergies to pets either. I have 2 years of exotics with birds and reptiles. I’m currently job-hunting and am looking for income to raise money for law school. I am free most days and can do weekends and overnight stays I have a full fenced backyard as well as a dog door for emergencies. I feed my dogs separately. Room doors are always open if animals need anything and a doggie door to go outside. At your home you can expect respect and cleanliness. I appreciate written instructions on how you like things at your home. Additionally, please let me know rules on eating in the house, guests, etc.

“Jennifer is fantastic. She was so prepared when we first met her and went above and beyond for our puppies. She even took one of the dogs to the vet for us for a cough. I cannot recommend her enough.”

“Lauren is truly AMAZING. From the moment she arrived, she was so sweet, calm, and patient with our dogs. She took the time to get to know them, understood their little quirks, and made sure they felt comfortable and cared for the entire time. She took them out regularly, kept us updated, and treated them with so much kindness that it felt like they were her own. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We will absolutely be using her again in the future.”

“Karrington was amazing! Super accommodating, fast responder, and I loved how she sent me pictures everyday of my girls while we were gone! My girls absolutely adored her and we’ll definitely ask her to sit for us again in the future!”

About: I’ve dealt with all types of animals - shy, aggressive, specific needs, and the ones who need extra attention. My family dog and previous pup needed oral medication, shots, and had specific diets. I’m home on weekends for the foreseeable future and will always welcome extra fur babies to my place. Live on acre+ of land and have accessible trails within walking distance as well. Have pool and extra room if your doggo needs their own space while I’m away. Willing to do pop ins for those who work longer hours, welcome fur babies to my house, or give walks during the day. My night schedule allows me plenty of flexibility and always looking for ways to fill my schedule. My dogs love extra roommates. I work nights starting at midnight and usually off by 8:30-9am. I’m off Friday Saturday and go in Sunday night. I don’t go out and love daily walks with my doggos. I have a fenced 1.5acre fenced backyard with access to trails within walking distance. While away I leave my dogs out and they have access to my bed, couch, and spare rooms. If more comfortable can keep them in spare room or kenneled depending on your preference.
“Sabrina was amazing with our aging Baloo! Made sure to give him lots of love while we were away & sent us plenty of pictures & videos to keep us posted on how he was doing throughout her time! Will definitely use her again!”
About: I’m new to Rover, but not new to dogs! I grew up in a 5-dog household, so chaos, cuddles, and constant tail wags have always been normal for me. I’ve also been dog sitting for my grandma since I was about 12 (22 now) whenever she travels, helping with feeding, walks, and general care. Now I live on a ranch with 3 dogs, plus horses & other animals. I’ve spent my whole life around animals and feel very comfortable caring for dogs of all personalities and energy levels. I genuinely enjoy spending time with them and making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for. As a business owner with a flexible schedule, I have the ability to adjust my routine to accommodate pet care on my days off. I take Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off, and I’m available after 3 PM on Saturdays sometimes earlier upon request. This gives me plenty of time to provide reliable care, whether it’s walks, playtime, or overnight stays. I prioritize ensuring pets receive the attention and care they need during my available hours. When I’m watching pets at their home, I make sure to follow their normal routine as much as possible so they feel comfortable and at ease. Whether it’s feeding, walking, or just hanging out, I keep them busy and happy while giving them some love and attention. I also take care to keep their space tidy and make sure everything is safe for the pets. My goal is to make them feel like they’re getting all the love and care they need while their owner is away.
About: I've taken care of dogs & cats since I was 5 years old. I was responsible for the care of our family pets including a pig, goat & chickens. Friends and family have asked me to help with their pets when out of town, etc. I am comfortable administering oral medication to dogs & cats. I'm retired, so will have lots of availability to love and care for your pets. I am available day and night. If there are any conflicts I will do my best to work with your schedule. I will care for your pets like they are my own. I will be very careful coming in and out of an owner's home and follow any guidelines given.
About: I’ve had had family dogs and taken care of others dogs off and on. Willing to work around your dogs needs! If you have any concerns don’t hesitate to reach out. I do work part-time and go to college full-time. I pet sit in my free time to pay for tuition. I will be graduating with my associates this fall. I have a fenced in back yard. My neighborhood has sidewalks and safe pathways. This also includes a dog park. There are no cats or dogs inside my current home.
“Sherrie is fantastic. She took such great care of Winnie and my apartment while I was away. Lots of pics and updates. Had no troubles at all with her feeding or medicine schedule. I can’t recommend Sherrie enough, she’s awesome!”

“Sugehily was awesome with our 3 little pups. She was able to help us with a last minute booking and her communication was great before and during the stay. She also sent us updates and pictures during the stay. Would not hesitate to use her again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Winscott walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Winscott maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Winscott choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Winscott. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
