We are extremely satisfied with Lori’s services. After being away for 9 to 10 days, we returned to find our dogs in excellent health and spirits, clearly well cared for during our absence. The regular updates, including pictures and videos, significantly alleviated our concerns. We are certainly planning to use her again and have already arranged for her to housesit during our upcoming vacation.

About: I grew up with a variety of pets. I have experience caring for dogs and cats of different ages, personalities, and needs. As a teacher with a flexible summer schedule, I provide dependable care while keeping pets comfortable in their normal routines. I really enjoy going on walks and playing with pets so they are cared for while their owners are away. As a teacher, my schedule varies throughout the year. During summer break, I have a flexible schedule and am available for most services throughout the day. During the school year, I’m available evenings, weekends, holidays, and select house sits. Feel free to reach out. I’ll always let you know if I can make your dates work! I know how important it is to have peace of mind while you’re away, so I prioritize communication and send plenty of photo updates throughout each stay. I know it can feel intimidating to leave your pet in someone else's care. I take that responsibility seriously and strive to make both pets and owners feel comfortable. As a teacher and lifelong dog lover, I'm dependable, attentive, and respectful of others' homes. I'll follow your instructions carefully, keep you updated, and make sure your pet receives plenty of attention and care while you're away.

Mikayla is an amazing house sitter! She knew exactly how to approach my reactive dog, she stayed calm even though we had a dangerous storm and a tornado warning at our house her first night there. She sent me pictures and responded quickly to any texts. Her questions about the pets ( two dogs and a cat) showed me she is really think about their comfort and routine. I could not be more pleased. I have already booked another time for her to keep my pet babies in July.

Lauren is truly AMAZING. From the moment she arrived, she was so sweet, calm, and patient with our dogs. She took the time to get to know them, understood their little quirks, and made sure they felt comfortable and cared for the entire time. She took them out regularly, kept us updated, and treated them with so much kindness that it felt like they were her own. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We will absolutely be using her again in the future.

About: Dogs have always had a special place in my heart, and they seem to know it! I may be a cat mom now, but I’ve had dogs in the past and still light up every time I’m around them. Whether it’s going for walks, brushing their fur, playing fetch, or just giving belly rubs, dogs naturally gravitate toward me. I’m calm, caring, and attentive to their needs, and they can sense it. I’ll make sure your pup feels loved, safe, and totally spoiled while you’re away! I’m a teacher on summer break, which means my schedule is wide open to care for your pets! While you’re away this summer, I’m available to pop in 2 to 3 times a day for feedings, walks, playtime, or just some extra love and company. I’m flexible, reliable, and happy to work around your pet’s routine to help them feel comfortable and cared for while you’re gone. When I care for your pet, I also care for your home—like it’s my own. I’m a very clean and respectful person who always picks up after myself (and your pet!). Whether it’s cleaning up messes, taking out the trash, tidying up food bowls, or keeping litter areas fresh, I make sure everything stays neat and stress free while you’re away. You can relax knowing both your pet and your home are in responsible, caring hands.

Sherrie was AMAZING and my dog (Jasper) absolutely loved her. This is the first time I had to use a house/pet sitter and I was so nervous prior to meeting Sherrie. I have only ever left my dog with family members because he is my world and I had no reservations leaving him in Sherrie's care. She came highly recommended by my neighbor and I now know why. She sent me updates multiple times a day and took such great care of my boy. She also left my house immaculately clean! Jasper I and can't wait to have her back soon! I cannot recommend Sherrie and her services enough.

About: Hello, my name is Abby. I am a veterinary technician with experience in emergency medicine. I spent 4 years in the Army as a veterinary technician and worked at an emergency center for 1 1/2 years after. I do work during the day, however, I am available early morning and evening to care for your fur babies. If your dog has any special needs such as medications that need to be given (including injections), help getting around and/or getting up and down, incontinence, or any other issues your animal may have, I am more than happy to accommodate for their needs as well. I am available to care for animals of all shapes and sizes. I do hope that you will look for me if you need a sitter and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Thank you! I am a full time employee. I work Monday-Wednesday and Saturday. During my off time I spend my time at home with my animals. I am very flexible with my scheduling and will try my best to keep your animal on their routine. I make safety a priority in my house. I have cameras in my home that allow me to check in on my animals from my phone. I have 8 foot brick wall fencing around my backyard so I don't worry about digging or jumping the fence. I also keep food and toys up unless animals are separated or I am there to supervise.

Sade was an absolute dream to work with. She was on time and very receptive to communicating regarding the booking and the “girls”. With regards to taking care of the girls: we could not have asked for a greater human to watch over our girls. Sade sent updates and pictures. Throughout the week and the girls looked absolutely happy, even our senior dog who is Leary of people. We had awful weather while we were away and Sade kept us in the look regarding our high anxiety dog and kept her calm throughout the storms. Sade also watched over our tortoise and she did an awesome job with him too (he’s a laid back kinda guy). I would DEFINITELY recommend Sade to watch your beloved “pets”.

About: I have had both cats and dogs my whole life and have been taking care of them professionally for the past four years. When I was younger, I would often times take care of family members animals when needed. From an early age I knew I wanted to do animal care professionally and in 2020 I started working at a doggy daycare and boarding facility. It was one of my favorite experiences and I learned so much about dogs! Some of the things I learned are; body language, safe play, how to deescalate high stress situations, feeding different diets, and medicating. After a couple of years at the daycare, I decided to start my journey in shelter work. I am currently a volunteer coordinator at a shelter and have grown my knowledge of both dogs and cats. I am excited to have the opportunity to meet and love your pet while providing a safe place to play and rest! I am currently working full time, Wednesday through Sunday 7am to 4pm. I do have an hour of lunch and would be more than happy to run home for potty breaks if a house is close enough 😊 I have grown my knowledge of animals over the past several years and know how to work with different behaviors, medical needs, and am just happy to be with your pet!

FAQs for House Sitting - Winscott

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Winscott on Rover is $22.2 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,582 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Winscott. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Winscott walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Winscott maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Winscott choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Winscott. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
