“This was our first trip with cat check-in visits by Amber. She was great with our two cats and left us timely updates and photos. We highly recommend Amber and will be hopefully having her help us with our next trip in March!”

About: I’ve dealt with all types of animals - shy, aggressive, specific needs, and the ones who need extra attention. My family dog and previous pup needed oral medication, shots, and had specific diets. I’m home on weekends for the foreseeable future and will always welcome extra fur babies to my place. Live on acre+ of land and have accessible trails within walking distance as well. Have pool and extra room if your doggo needs their own space while I’m away. Willing to do pop ins for those who work longer hours, welcome fur babies to my house, or give walks during the day. My night schedule allows me plenty of flexibility and always looking for ways to fill my schedule. My dogs love extra roommates. I work nights starting at midnight and usually off by 8:30-9am. I’m off Friday Saturday and go in Sunday night. I don’t go out and love daily walks with my doggos. I have a fenced 1.5acre fenced backyard with access to trails within walking distance. While away I leave my dogs out and they have access to my bed, couch, and spare rooms. If more comfortable can keep them in spare room or kenneled depending on your preference.

“Gabriela did a great job taking care of our dog and two cats! She kept them happy and entertained and gave our dog good walks! She was great with communication and being on time for everything!”

“Casey was fantastic! He treated my dog with so much care and attention. He went above and beyond my expectations. His communication was excellent, and I couldn't have asked for a better sitter. 10/10 recommend Casey!”

About: hello there, I’ve worked in Animal control for over 5 years now. I started off as a shelter technician and I’m currently a vet technician. I can say I know my way of understanding an animals need/wants. Animals are very precious to me, this is my passion and I love being around all kinds of animals! I’m a full time vet technician working Wednesday-Saturday from 6am-5pm! On my days off I normally go out to find new adventures/activities with my animals, or I make sure I get important things completed. I currently live in a cottage with my own fenced backyard as well as shareable park with my neighbors. I love taking my dogs on walks to socialize with other dogs and people as well as getting exercise.

“Lori is amazing! She is super sweet and super understanding. She did wonderful taking great care of my fur babies while away and messaged me letting me know how they are with pictures. One of my fur babies is timid with new people but she was able to get her very comfortable quickly. They are my babies so leaving them was so hard but she made me feel so much better about the whole process. Definitely recommend her and will definitely ask for her help in the future.”

“Janelle did several drop in visits to check on my puppy while I was gone. She was so great! Very responsive to messages and provided updates and pictures while taking care of my pup. She”

About: I'm a pet parent, Army veteran and father. I have a husky mix who's a social butterfly and recently got a Xolo mix puppy. She's very playful but already very smart and eager to learn. I've worked with pets for about 5 years and have done many walks, boardings & sittings. I'm also used to walking dogs of all sizes and am fine with walking multiple dogs at once when utilizing the proper gear. I live with my adult age daughter who also works with dogs in our 2300 sq ft 2 story home so there's plenty of space for your pups. We have a yard and a doggy door for easy access. I have extra leashes, harnesses, food for dogs of all sizes/ages (wet and dry) bowls, beds, dog toys, treats and kennels. Dogs that board with me usually sleep on the pet beds or on my furniture but can be kenneled if that's the owners preference. I also work with cats but focus on dogs primarily. I currently work overnights but have lots of free time during the day and on weekends or holidays. I have done many overnight sittings and hundreds of walks/drop in visits. I never leave pets alone for longer than 3-4 hours when sitting. I only give approved treats to dogs and am used to administering medicines orally.
“I have an 11 year old large breed dog with multiple health problems and Rachel takes excellent care of him, often managing multiple medications and maintaining his complex schedule with competency and care. She truly loves him as if he's her own fur baby. She also takes great care of my plants. I have known her for 9 years, and she is extremely reliable and trustworthy. He's the only person I'd trust him with. It's so nice to be able to relax knowing he's in good hands. The peace of mind she provides when I'm gone is so valuable!”

Can't wait to meet you and your pup(s)! I’m currently stay-at-home, so I have open availability for the time being. I enjoy taking care of dogs and cats and fill my days doing so. When pets are in my home I treat them as my own; I take great safety precautions, go with them to the backyard and for potty breaks, and make sure play time is supervised. When house sitting, I always make sure to respect the space and leave it as I found it! It’s important that your pets feel at home.

I have no allergies to pets either. I have 2 years of exotics professionally with birds, amphibians, and reptiles. I also have my bachelors in environmental science with a concentration in animal sciences. Senior dogs, especially hounds, have my heart! I’m currently job-hunting and am looking for income to raise money for law school. I am free most days and can do weekends and overnight stays. I have a full fenced backyard as well as a dog door for emergencies. I feed my dogs separately. Room doors are always open if animals need anything and a doggie door to go outside. At your home you can expect respect and cleanliness. I appreciate written instructions on how you like things at your home. Additionally, please let me know rules on eating in the house, guests, etc.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
