“Willow is completely at ease with Amanda. Amanda does a fantastic job keeping me informed about Willow’s health, activities, and interactions with their family. I have already rebooked. I have and will change plans if Amanda is not available.”

“Siobhan was great with our dogs and gave great updates as well as pictures. I feel safe leaving them with her. She also has a fenced in back yard which is a plus, since that is what our dogs are used to her. Would definitely suggest her dog care to a friend.”

“Very professional and practical. The communication was punctual and timely. I was very pleased to see our dog having such a lovely time during my time away. Highly recommend Anita for your Rover needs.”

“Cameron absolutely loved his stay at Allejah’s home. She stayed in close contact with us and gave Cameron the best possible care. We are so thankful to have found her!”

“Melissa was absolutely wonderful with my dog. She was excellent with the communication and pictures and I felt so good to see my dog happy while I was out of town taking care of business. Melissa will forever be my dog sitter for my pup.”

“Kelsey took very good care of my doggie. She provided updates throughout the day and my lil doggie looked so calm and content. I would definitely recommend Kelsey. ☺️”

“This was the first time we have ever used a sitter for Dough. I was hesitant at first but Jay definitely helped cap my insecurities. The communication was top tier! The random pictures eased my mind. When we picked him up he didn't want to leave lol. He tried to go back to the door. Needless to say, we will be back! Thanks so much for hosting Dough! We appreciate you!”

“Joy is one of the best sitters you can find for your pet. She has excellent communication, sends pictures and updates through the time that your pet is with her. She is the only sitter that we will consider using for our dog.”

“Michelle took great care of our 5 month old puppy for a week, including getting up at all hours for him to potty. She sent pics every day and her lovely dogs took ours under their wing.”

“I can never say enough about about her wonderful services. My dog is older and has some special abilities that need to be tended to. She has dogs herself that are gentle and playful that supplies my dog with a plenty of playmates. She also never kenneled my dog which was a big worry for me. Time and time again I would never choose anyone else to take care of my sweet boy.”

“My dog had a great stay with Laura! She was very kind and I really appreciated how attentive she was to my dog’s schedule. Will definitely use Laura’s services again in the future!”

“They were so accommodating and understanding for our baby Odin (7 weeks). She was prompt on responding and even sent pictures of how he was doing while I’m her care. I would definitely recommend them and will personally use her again to watch our pup!”

She was so welcoming and accommodating with our dog, not to mention extremely professional. Our dog had a great time, she was well exercised and we will definitely use her in the future. A+++++”

“Amazing! Multiple updates by message and photos helped keep this very nervous mama calm. Very knowledgeable about my specific pets dog breed. And very knowledgeable about pet care in general. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Windsor Hills
Allejah really is a five star sitter! Communication and knowledge of doggie behaviors, attention to detail, flexibility, and LOVE are all top tier. This was my first boarding experience and I have a senior dog so I was on pins and needles going in- my anxiety was eliminated after meeting Allejah and receiving my first round of doggie mail. My old pup was just as comfortable and cantankerous with her as he is with us:-). I appreciated that she made my Velcro dog feel comfortable enough to relax, rest, and cuddle. As an anxious pet parent- I was comfortable enough to enjoy my travels. I would 100% recommend her and I’d love to have her puppy sit again when the need arises.

Siobhan was great! She kept me posted about Shade and sent pictures. I liked she had other dogs for Shade to interact with. A plus is Siobhan’s location is very convenient to where I live. This is the third time I requested her services, however was only fortunate to book twice. Very pleased and would recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Windsor Hills home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Windsor Hills.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Windsor Hills sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
