“Sara was great. Our princess cat (Bonnie) took to her right away and Bonnie is very picky!! She took care of our Bonnie and our outdoor baby who stops by when she wants to. She also grabbed our packages and picked up our front porch after a storm. We would (and Bonnie) would recommend Sara again!”

“Can’t recommend Amberly highly enough (: she’s super flexible, communicative, and great with our 2 cats! We’ve booked with her a couple times now and will continue to do so anytime we’re heading out of town.”

“Baylee is a wonderful sitter and she took great care of our sweet spaz of a dog. She took lots of pictures and videos to calm my worries. We will definitely be booking her for our future needs! Thank you again so much Baylee!”

“Logan was great with my pup Boogie! He can take a bit to warm up to people, but Logan made herself available for additional “Meet and Greets” prior to the booking so that Boogie could get used to her. Very attentive and Boogie was in great hands with her!”

“Amy was great. She went out of her way to take care of our cats and critters. Sent me pictures every day. I will be requesting her services again in the furire if I go away again. Thank you Amy and Happy New Year's 2026!!”

“Super communicative and so easy to work with! Went above and beyond for my old lady baby. As long as he’s available, Cameron is the only one I’d book for future visits.”

“Savannah did a great job taking care of our dogs while we were away. She was reliable, caring, and made us feel comfortable knowing they were in good hands. We’re very happy with her and would definitely recommend her!”

About: Hi! My name is Meg and here's a little bit about my experience as a pet sitter. I have been pet sitting for friends and family since 2021, cats and dogs both. That has meant everything from the easy stuff, feeding and walks and company, to the parts people actually worry about: giving medications on schedule, keeping up with monthly preventatives, and handling the unglamorous days when a dog has an upset stomach and needs watching. I have done the 2am cleanup and the anxious pacing by the door. None of it fazes me. One sit still stands out to me. A family friend needed someone last minute to care for their two dogs, who both had colds, while they were away for a week. They were understandably worried about leaving sick dogs behind. I stayed with the pair day and night, giving every dose of medication on time and just being there with them through it. By the time their owners got home, both dogs were one step away from a full recovery. That week is a good example of what I bring to a sit: I don't just check in, I stay present until the job is actually done right. I am happy to handle whatever your pet needs: boarding at my place, house sitting at yours, drop-in visits, walks, medication, or anything else specific to your routine. Just tell me what normal looks like for them and I will hold it as close as I can while you're away. I have also fostered cats and dogs, which gave me practice with nervous animals and slow, careful introductions. My own dog Lady came to me as a foster and never left. She is 5 years old, lab mix and an easygoing host. She would be the only other pet your dog is around. I'm currently working part-time so your pet will have to be alone for 5-6 hours only 2 to 3 days a week. My working days are also quite flexible so I can work it out according to your pet's needs! Either my home or yours, I will match your baby's routine and needs. Same feeding times, walk schedules, rules around furniture and crates. In your home, I will keep to your house rules and keep the space as you expect it when you're back! My home is quiet and pet friendly, with a fenced yard, walking routes in the neighborhood and a metal crate is available if your dog prefers one. Introductions with my dog, Lady will happen slowly and on neutral ground, and I do not leave dogs unsupervised together until I know how they get along. You will get many updates and photos while your pet is with me.
About: I was a kennel technician for a little over 3 years and have fostered pets most of my life, I miss working with animals but had a career to focus on I work 9-5 on Tybee currently but make sure my own pet gets very consistent long walks before and after work every day and playtime at lunch on my days off❤️❤️ My dog has fantastic recall that we work on regularly with positive reinforcement. I also specialize in leash training stubborn puppies that like to pull

About: I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I started pet sitting at ten years old and absolutely fell in love with providing quality care to other's fur-babies! I have extensive experience in petsitting cats and dogs of all sizes and ages from puppies/kittens to seniors. I have experience with administering medications, as well as experience with dogs with disabilities who just need a little extra TLC! I adore caring for these babies whether it be through walking, playing, or just getting in some snuggles! I am currently a college student with class only on Mondays and Wednesdays, so I have plenty of time during the week and weekend to provide care! I like to start my mornings early, but I can also be a night owl, so I am very flexible with time and am happy to help when I am needed. Although I am in college and cannot provide care in my home, I am more than happy to come over and care for the pets in a clients home! I am fully aware of the fact a new visitor can be nerve wracking or stressful for some pets, so I always take it slow and make sure that your baby is 100% comfortable. All pets are different and some take more time to warm up than others, so I am very patient and perfectly happy to meet your pet where they are. :)
“Sarah was amazing! We were worried about leaving our dog for vacation after a failed vet boarding. Our dog was very reactive in that situation. Sarah came in and made instant friends with our boys and provided us the peace of mind we needed while gone. She was amazing with both our dogs, but was perfect for our rescue bulldog mix! Our dogs loved her so much and she provided pictures and videos while we were gone, putting us at ease even more. Definitely will hire her again and you should too!”

“Tara was amazing with our boy! He seemed very happy! We will definitely use Tara again in the future. She walked him and loved on him. She was on time and very accommodating. Definitely recommend”
“Eli is so wonderful with our shy/fearful girl. He has a very calm presence and Marsi warmed up to him right away. He is so kind and easy to coordinate with and he shares updates with pictures from his visits!”

“Yani was a real hit with my animals. My little dog Olive is pretty easy (she loves every one). The real test is my A**hole cat Newman but pictures show him hanging and loving on her?! What?!”

“Angel was so good with my 2 cats and loved on them like they were her own. They took to her quickly and I can tell they were cared for well while I was out of town. I would definitely book her again.”

About: Throughout my life, I have always had the pleasure to take care of and love animals. Cats, dogs and chickens! I have experience with young animals to seniors and have cherished them all. I have helped out my friends by caring for their animals while they were away. Both large and small dogs, and kitties. I am available on the weekends, Saturday and Sundays, as I have a full time job. If you need multiple visits during the day, I can do it! I personally prefer to have my animals cared for in their on home. It seems less intrusive to their routine when I need to be away. Being on the receiving side of someone coming into my home, I know the amount of trust involved. I respect your privacy and take great care for the safety of your pet in allowing me to visit your home.
About: I have lived with over 5 animals at a time in a house. Growing up with a variety of pets along with being a volunteer coordinator for troubled animals. I am open to all! I am a full time employment meaning I can focus on taking care of your family evenings and weekends! Lots of walks, adventures, and fun! I am in an apartment with a play yard, but will take your furry family to the park or downtown for walks and play time!
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Windsor Forest
After years of haphazard cat sitting services provided by friends and neighbors and the odd hand here and there, all pass/ fail and hit or miss, we found Rachel here on Rover - which itself is a lovely platform of structure from which to receive and monitor the services provided for your pets once you're off and out-of-pocket - and she has proven to be the absolute ideal definition of what one would want in their pet care services while they are away. Rachel provided timely, conscientious, and intuitive service backed by the check-in, check out process that Rover employs, sending pictures of each animal every day for proof of life lol and to simply see your pets on a regular basis while you're gone. Great communication, HIGHLY RECOMMEND her for these very same reasons and would and will definitely be looking to her for these necessities in the future. Thank you Rachel, you are a reliable diamond in the rough and a pleasure to work with; very straightforward, well spoken, and thorough. For once it was nice to return from being away and not immediately have to police up the house and set everything to rights again, Rachel kept everything in order so well that walking in the door felt like I'd never left, it was that solid how she handled things. A+++++++

Katherine was so great! She was very attentive to every detail of the instructions that I left, and was extremely thorough. Very pleasant to communicate with, and is very knowledgeable about all sorts of animals. I felt very comfortable having her take care of our animals while we were away. Thanks again!

Jamie is the best! One of my cats during our vacation started to not feel well. Jamie let me promptly know every visit if my cat had eaten and her overall attitude. I asked if she would make an additional drop in visit to see if she could hand feed my cat that wasn’t feeling well. Jamie was happy to do it and thankfully my cat stated to feel much better. I felt very safe and comfortable leaving my babies in her hands for the weekend. I will definitely being using her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
