About: Animals have always been a central part of my life, as I grew up in a pet-loving household where we cared for everything from hamsters and turtles to multiple dogs, guinea pigs, ferrets, and even fish. I’ve also volunteered both formally and informally with local SPCA chapters and animal shelters from a young age, helping to walk, feed, and care for dogs of a variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I have hands on experience with dogs who need extra attention and medical care. I've raised two dogs from puppyhood—my current dog, Sophia, and a pit bull my family had previously—and have done everything from potty training to leash work and daily routines. Sophia is diabetic and blind, so I’m no stranger to giving insulin shots, monitoring glucose levels, and understanding how to be patient and calm with pets who have special needs or anxiety. Whether it's caring for seniors, puppies, or pets with health conditions, I always aim to treat them like family because that’s exactly what they are. I am currently on break from school at the University of Delaware, so my schedule is pretty flexible. Preferably, I am available after 10:00 AM and before 8:00 PM. For overnights, I will stay with your pet for 12 hours (start/end depends on animals schedule) and do one drop in during the mid day. Reach out to me for additional care options (constant care, additional visits, etc.)! When I care for pets through walks or drop-in visits, I approach each home and animal with respect, patience, and awareness. I know every pet has their own personality, boundaries, and needs, so I'll never assume anything upon first meeting. I take time to observe their behavior, let them come to me at their own pace, and make sure we’re both comfortable before jumping into getting close and personal. This also helps me gauge what kind of interaction they’re ready for and to prioritize safety—for your pet and for myself—by staying alert to their body language, keeping a calm energy, and never rushing trust. I will follow any specific instructions you give closely, especially if your pet has particular sensitivities or routines. I also take practical steps on walks, like avoiding overly stimulating routes or unknown dogs, and I’m always careful with things like leashing, doors, or feeding to avoid stress or accidents. I recently earned a certificate from the American Red Cross in Pet CPR and First Aid, so I am prepared even for the worst situations (which I hope I never will have to be 😅).

About: **About Me** Hi! I’m Madelyn a dedicated pet sitter with over 7 years of experience caring for animals. I work full-time at an urgent animal hospital as a vet tech, where I’ve been for the past 5 years. I am animal CPR certified and skilled in administering both injectable and oral medications, ensuring your pets are in safe hands. My full-time hours are from 10 AM to 7 PM, 5 days a week, but I am available to provide attentive care and personalized attention for your furry friends before and after work. I love animals and am committed to giving them the love, care, and comfort they need while you're away. Let me know how I can help ensure your pets are happy, healthy, and loved! I work at urgent care facility. My hours don’t normally start until mid morning/ early afternoon and I am typically done by 6/7pm. I get a break everyday where I am able to leave and go let your pets out if need be. Since I do have animals of my own at home and I share my house I typically don’t offer to keep animals at my house. I am more than comfortable to go to your house and stay with them there. Since I do have a background of medically taking care of animals I am also more than comfortable medicating dogs/cats or taking on jobs with animals that may have higher needs than other animals.

Carmen R.Star Sitter
“Carmen is one of the most loving people I've ever met. She has so much love for animals (especially dogs) that I as a veterinary technician am astonished by. I've seen her with her own dog, as well as many other that she knows or we have met, and she treats them with such respect and love that you don't see very often. She sees them as equal with humans, values them as members of one's family, and takes the absolute best care of any animal she comes across. I would trust her with my pets whole heartedly and believe that she would be a wonderful pet caregiver.”

Jeannette was lovely! She was easy to communicate with and interacted with my pups very well. I have an older dog and a younger dog with very different energy and Jeannette was great with both. She was able to do a meet and greet and walk with a pretty short turn around as another walker had cancelled on me. I would absolutely recommend Jeannette to other pet parents!
