I left for vacation and had to leave my kitty, Riott, behind, and I’m so grateful I found Katarina. She was absolutely amazing with him and made him feel right at home. She gave him lots of love, paid close attention to his needs, and treated him so well. She also kept me updated every day with adorable photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It felt so reassuring knowing Riott was with someone who genuinely cared about him and knew how to take care of him. I will definitely book with Katarina again!

Stephen was a great fit for my Abbie. He and his wife took excellent care of her and sent pictures en very day and a couple of videos. It was my first time leaving her with someone outside her home environment. I have already booked him for another week in September. I highly recommend him if you need to board your dog.

Being home full time also means I will be available for your pet at anytime they need me throughout there stay at my home. I have a sturdy 100 ft dog runner that has held very large dogs. Cailey took care of my senior cat for an extended time and took great care of her. Cailey kept me updated on how my cat was doing, including for a period of time where my cat wasn’t eating as much. My cat will do this on occasion so I wasn’t concerned, and appreciated Cailey noticing and checking in with me about that. I would absolutely work with Cailey again, thank you!

About: We got our first dog when I was four years old. Over the years we had many other dogs , both large and small. Most recently , I was the primary caregiver for our seventeen year old terrier mix. Pet sitting will help fill the void that she has left in my life. I am recently retired, so my schedule is flexible. I am available during the week, weekends, days and evenings. I have an active life style. I have a large yard for your dog to enjoy on a leash. I have one cat at home who is dog experienced. I am open to caring for a dog's in my home if they are cat friendly or in yours.

This was my first time using Rover/dog sitter and I was nervous leaving my two girls with strangers. After doing a meet and greet with the sitter I felt I made the right decision and was less nervous. I love the care they received with the sitter and their family. Daily updates, pictures and videos showed me just how happy my girls were. I will definitely book with Francis E and her family again, without any hesitation.

I do this full time as a licensed, insured, and bonded pet sitter, dog walker, dog trainer, and pet caregiver as Influential K9, LLC. I also have experience being a kennel manager for a dog daycare/boarding facility! Different breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities up to 15-20 dogs some days at a time. Our home has half an acre of wooded area for sniffing and walking! And .25-.75 acre to run and play! We are adding new toys and activities every week! We also can accommodate hikes on daycare days we live right on the river by the Scotland damn! Once everyone is integrate there will be pack walks! When working with you and your animal companions you will always get photo updates, report cards, and safety as a priority! -My special skills include being able to provide enrichment and safe pet care practices, such as double leash retention, ice sheets during hotter months, water, and a first aid kit on me at all times during walks/visits. I can provide certain medical requests (such as oral medication or injections). I grew up with dogs (small, medium, and LARGE), cats, birds, small companion animals, fish, and horses over the years. I do this full-time and have plenty of availability! I can usually fill most accommodations and requests based on availability when a booking is requested! When caring for a client’s animal companion in their homes, I always make sure to conduct a consultation (meet and greet) so that I am introduced to the companions before providing services. This ensures that your animal companions feel safe and secure with someone they are familiar with while I am in their home. This is used to establish what boundaries and needs your animal companion needs from me while you are away. Safety is the most important aspect of my job for your animal companions. Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

94% of Willimantic sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Willimantic landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Willimantic home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
