“Im trying to find a sitter for my vacation and have been looking everywhere in west mifflin area, south. I also have been taking my dogs to homes to watch them while away, I am newly divorced and my dogs have always gone everywhere with us, but this year as I have them on my own would be too much for one person. I found Alyssa and had no reviews but was in West Mifflin area and does house sitting. This would be a score, but with no reviews very hesitant. Both my dogs have had TPLO surgery and my oldest has a slight neck issue. Our first encounter was a video call. We talked quite some time and I automatically felt at ease. Alyssa is personable, and seems very genuine. We set up a drop in as I left to meet a friend. When Alyssa came to my home, my dogs loved her. Parker even did his under leg walk on her. I felt at ease with my dogs being watch, but also felt my home was in good hands as well. We are working with Alyssa for more visits in the next month until I leave for vacation to become acclimated. My dogs are my kids and think they are human. They have been thru alot with me and I am very particular of who watches my dogs so this is a huge win for us.”

Barney had a medical emergency (through no fault of anyone, just one of those things) and Makenzie handled it as well as anyone could between getting Barney where he had to be and communicating with us while we were 6 hours away. She stayed with Barney the entire time making him feel safe and secure until we got there, and I have no doubt that her care and touch made Barney very calm throughout everything and no one could appreciate her care more than we do. About: Policy please read: owners must be at the home when I arrive for overnight to prevent confusion and to communicate any last-minute details. No meetup for new clients = no booking. Great with cats, environmental upkeep and medications. Great with dogs, walking and medications. Especially gentle with senior pets, Great with kittens and puppies. Great with meds and teaching some techniques, my family calls me "the pet whisperer." I have emphysema so I have limits, but I'm supposed to be exercising to increase my tolerance so I will still walk your dog, yes. I'm a freelance artist and delivery driver, so I still work during the day. I may leave for a few hours or be on my laptop to get my work done. It's all on my own time at will, so there's no conflict. I ask that you not book more than 3 days without advanced notice and awareness that I will need to leave to do laundry, eat, work and feed my cat, I am a human being. I don't do drop-ins outside of the Squirrel Hill area, if you schedule for overnight and ask for drop-in, I will turn down the gig. I do overnight across the Pittsburgh area within a 30 minute drive. I think that's reasonable, driving an hour round-trip 3x a day to someone's house to let their dog out isn't worth the gas money. I'm not in a place where I can board furry creatures, unless it is a small reptile with secure nesting box, the reptile room is secure and quiet. I'm very calm and easy to talk to, quiet. I'm always discreet, will never tell anyone you're not home.

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since the beginning of my middle school years. I got my first puppy when I was 11, and was able to do many months of research to make sure my puppy was able to get the proper training to learn the necessary commands and some tricks. I’ve learned patience and consistency not inly with but my other animals as well. As a part-time worker, I have plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. Daily, I am already engaging in walks, and having a pet companion can make it much more exciting! I prefer to keep dogs within their own environments in order to bring them the most comfort as possible. By being in their own home routines can be enforced within the comfort of their own homes

About: I have experience with all dogs of all ages, from puppies to senior, with experience giving daily medications in the form of pills, ointments/creams, and injections. I love hanging out with dogs and always follow feeding/walking schedules as requested. I am a PhD student so I work outside the house and won’t be home all day when house sitting but I have a flexible schedule and can sometimes work my schedule around to fit the care of dogs and cats etc with enough notice. I enjoy spending time with animals so I’m always willing to adjust my schedule. I have taken care of pets in their home for extended periods, most commonly over holidays. I’m always respectful of the home and animals, ensuring that I don’t overstep on their territory and I like to leave the home as clean as I found it.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and grew up on a farm. My best fur friend, Maggie May, has been with me for 10 years. We love walks, hikes, car rides, and hanging out at home. When we’re at home, we’re also hanging out with our two black cat homies, Bellatrix and Sirius, who have been with us since 2020. I work from home 4 days per week and have a fairly flexible schedule. I go on daily walks/hikes permitting. I have no problem at all staying home and crafting while hanging out with my pets on a weekend night! I have a secure tie out in my backyard and plenty of cozy places to hang out inside. My dog, Maggie, is lackadaisical about most dogs and just wants to get a good sniff in.

About: I have owned a variety of dogs throughout my life, some bought and some rescued. I know what it is like to go through the ups and downs of raising a dog and I would love to play a role in helping you in that journey! I am an involved and hard worker with a passion for pets. I love going for walks and staying active and am always outside doing something. I can handle energetic dogs and puppies and I don’t mind getting pushed around a little and I am great at giving baths after long nature outing. I do have another job but it is only open on the weekend so I have plenty of free time during the week. I am also pretty flexible when comes to hours as well. I love to have a set idea of do’s and do not’s from a pet owner before I house sit just to make sure I am not overstepping or over correcting and to make sure everyone is safe at all times. About: As people who work from home with a lot of clingy dog experience, we're a great choice for owners anxious about being separated from their dogs (and vice-versa!). And as people with several years of experience caring for a reactive dog, we can keep your dogs safe. Does your dog like running around in the yard? We can hang out back there with them for hours! More of a couch potato? We're right there with them! Do they prefer their space? That's great too! Our senior dog passed in October 2024. We're not ready to adopt again, but we *are* ready to share our love for dogs with as many pups as possible! We will only accept bookings from a single family at a time to ensure your dog feels safe and has all of the attention they could want. Please note that we also have separate pet sitting insurance via PCI, just for yours and our peace of mind! We work from home with a flexible schedule, so we can give your dog all the attention they need! We can also handle senior dog needs, like being extra attentive with potty breaks or going on sloooow walks. We're also only a 5 minute drive from Frick Park, and we love taking pups there (after checking with you and only ever on-leash, of course!). Our home is ready for either crate-trained or non-crate-trained dogs. We are careful to keep dangerous foods and items out of your dog's reach, and if your dog is the kind of pup who needs lots of attention, we can provide the snuggles! Our yard is 3/4 fenced in - it provides the privacy of a yard with a wooden fence, but no protection against escape artists! If we want to run around back there we will keep them on a long tie-out (provided) and never leave them unattended.
