About: I have loved caring for animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up on a farm, I gained hands-on experience caring for not only dogs and cats, but also sheep and horses. I’ve been responsible for animals since I was young and have developed a strong passion for providing them with loving, attentive care. I am experienced with pets of all ages, including senior animals, and I will always ensure your pets are safe, comfortable, and treated like family while they’re in my care. Pet care would be part of my everyday schedule. I would plan my day around feeding times, walks, litter box cleaning, playtime, and making sure each pet gets attention and comfort. I’m used to being responsible and checking in on animals multiple times throughout the day, so I can easily adjust my routine to meet their needs. In my own home or a client’s home, I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and safe. I make sure they are fed on schedule, always have fresh water, and get plenty of attention, exercise, and playtime based on their energy level and personality. I also keep their space clean by picking up after them, cleaning litter boxes or accidents right away, and making sure their environment stays safe and calm.
About: I have owned cats and dogs for many years And love taking care of both animals. I enjoy going for long walks with dogs and Giving lots of pets and love. Being a stay at home, homeschooling mom gives me a very open schedule for dog walks and pet checkins with my girls who love all pets. I have a fenced in backyard and three cats who do not mind dogs at all. We have two ponds behind our house That are perfect for nice long walks.
“Lanie was super attentive and caring for my cat while I was out of town! She spent a week doing daily check ins on my pets and left very thorough reports and photos to keep me updated! I really appreciated the time and care she put in to go the extra mile!”

About: I am a third year veterinary student at Texas A&M. I have personal experience ranging from cats & dogs to sheep. Outside of ownership I also have extensive experience in food and large animals. During the summers I either will be working at Texas A&M Veterinary School or actively participating in externships. When I am in school, I will only be able to visit your home before and after school and sometimes during my lunch break (but can’t guarantee everyday), but I will also offer over night stays. I truly feel making your animal as least stressed as possible is important. By providing the opportunity for your animal to stay at home where it is most comfortable, I will be able to better monitor your animal for abnormalities as well as see their best personality in the comfort of their home.

About: I’ve got tons of experience with pets from personal to professional. I’ve owned all sorts of pets myself and even worked with service dog organizations to puppysit and raise service dogs! I’ve also worked in a vet clinic grooming, walking, feeding, and administering medication to pets. I love animals, and I’d be so happy to help you take care of your furry friends! I’m currently free in the morning and afternoon everyday but Tuesday and Thursday. I’m also available to help just about every night/evening except Tuesday and Thursday! While I’m not able to take pets into my own home, I’m happy to meet you where you are and take care of your pet in an environment they’re most familiar with. I’d love to help maintain your pets routine and ensure they’re as safe and comfy as they can be!

About: I’ve cared for dogs for the last 10 years (both my own and my relatives). I also worked at a vet clinic for a year, so I have lots of experience with different breeds/ages/temperaments/needs/etc! I’m currently attending Texas A&M University, so my schedule is pretty flexible! Monday and Wednesday evenings are the only times that are more challenging for me. I have a smaller apartment and a super playful pup! It’s good for a dog that likes to chill or play. We also love long walks to help exercise and tire out the pups!

About: I’ve taken on a few pet sitting jobs here and there in the past for coworkers as well as pets of family members! I also have 2+ years of experience as a veterinary technician and am comfortable administering medications as needed for your pets! I have experience with multiple different species and with all different age ranges! I also am a current veterinary student and have 4 fur babies of my own! I’m a full time employee at the moment from 8-5pm with an hour lunch break! I’m able to stop by as many times as needed! I can stop by before work in the morning, during my lunch break, and after work, or even twice after work if needed! Weekends are completely open! I use a very fear free approach, but am also very respectful of the boundaries and body language of the pets I care for! I love to play and run around with them, but am also just as happy to sit down and offer pets and overall attention! I’m happy to adjust to the needs of both you and your pet!

About: I am a student at Texas A&M studying animal science to become a vet! In my senior year of high school, I earned my CVA (Certified Veterinary Assistant) and worked on the small animal surgery team at my hometown vet! Not only do I love working with animals in a clinical setting, but I have also trained every dog I’ve owned to do basic and skilled tricks! I have taken care of my family’s animals my entire life. Additionally, I have pet-sat for neighbors and close friends since I was around 10, and now I’m looking for new clients in the College Station area! I have always had a special place in my heart for animals, and unfortunately, I am not currently able to have my own animal. In return, I promise to love your animals like my own! I have a relatively open schedule around my classes! Tuesdays and Thursdays are my longer days, but I have a two-hour break between classes when I could stop by to check on your pets. I am typically finished with classes before 10 a.m. on Wednesdays and have no classes on Fridays! In my free time, I also enjoy taking shelter dogs out for fun adventures and giving them a little extra love! My current apartment doesn’t have a backyard for dogs to run and play, so I am happy to come to you to ensure your pets feel safe and comfortable in their own environment! Their safety and comfort will always be my top priorities. Providing your animals with the proper care and attention they deserve is extremely important to me!
About: I’ve familiarized myself with all types of animals, diets, ages, and additional needs such as potty training or medications. I would love to accommodate any pet parent and their baby with amazing care! I’m currently unemployed and have open hours to spend time with your pups! I’m a college student so my schedule is flexible and my hours are any time you need! Pets are cared for according to their owners instructions, usually being fed twice during the morning and night. Typically walk dogs two to three times a day, medication administered if/when necessary, and free time is spent open roaming in the household (under supervision of course)!
Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Wicker
Sara is my go-to cat sitter whenever I’m out of town, and I honestly couldn’t ask for anyone better! She is absolutely adorable with my cat, and it’s so clear how much she genuinely loves her. ❤️ I had Sara look after my cat for three weeks while I was away in India, and she went above and beyond. She didn’t just take excellent care of my cat—she also kept all my houseplants alive and somehow managed to keep my house super clean and tidy throughout my entire trip! Knowing that my cat and my home were in such caring hands gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I’m incredibly grateful to Sara and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and responsible pet sitter. 🐾❤️

I am so, so happy we booked with Caroline! She was kind, caring, helpful, and asked questions around our pet’s care that we hadn’t even thought of. I cannot recommend her enough, and I’m grateful to know that I and my friends/family have a trusted petsitter now.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
