Carol did an excellent job with our critters and house sitting. She sent pictures and updates. She was prompt to reply. We really appreciated the flexibility of Carol to work with our schedules. Our senior pup has eye problems. Carol came by twice before the booking to meet everyone and make sure all was good with the senior gal and her eye drop routine. I would recommend Carol to others and will use her in the future.

Brittany does an amazing job taking care of our older german shepherd. She has pet sat for us many times now, and we have been more than happy every time. We truly feel our girl could not be in better hands, and that is coming from someone who does not like to leave our pup. We feel very at ease when she is left in Brittany's care, its easy to see her love for animals. Brittany is extremely reliable, she is very communicative/quick to respond, and has always been very flexible with our needs. Thank you Brittany for all the care and attention you give our girl. We are lucky to have found you, and appreciate everything you do for us.

About: Currently, I am a first year veterinary student at Texas A&M. With that I work with dogs and cats daily, medically and behaviorally. I have experience with giving medications, dog walking, cleaning cages, and taking care of multiple dogs at once. While in school, I have also been volunteering at my local animal shelter, so I have many years of dog and cat experience. With the diverse experiences that I have, I am able to completely tailor my visits with your pets to their needs. I love taking care of animals and will ensure that they get all the attention you would usually give them. One of my goals within veterinary medicine is to offer low cost services to ensure that every pet has the opportunity to be taken care of. I love serving my community and I am a compassionate and loving care taker. Your pet(s) will be in great hands! I currently a full time student, so while I’m in school I will only be able to care for your pet before 8am and after 5pm. On the weekends, I can be very flexible since most of my days are spent studying. Specifically I would be able to check on pets every 4 hours or so if needed. I am even more available and flexible during breaks from school. During breaks, it’s all dependent on what kind of care your pet needs but I am adaptable and a quick learner. While caring for your pets in your home, I am willing to spend extra time playing with or just cuddling so they have extra human interaction. I also have toys I can bring if needed as well! I will also update you every time I am there so you know who is coming into your home, and I take every precaution to ensure that your pets and home are safe while you’re away. I can be adaptable to whatever situation you are in!

About: I began seeking clients on Rover in the summer of 2025 as a way to make some more money for college and I love animals so I figured “why not!” - I found myself really bonding with every dog/cat I watched and cared for them as my own. I accept as many jobs as I possibly can because I understand the importance of having someone stay with your fur babies who knows how to care for them in all aspects. My 7 month old puppy died due to negligence from his pet sitter and got hit by a car. Due to that experience, I have shifted my focus to mainly Rover, hoping I can provide families with the comfort and assurance that I will care for their animals with the respect and love they all deserve. I have experience with all kinds of animals (even bunnies, horses, fish, and more!) I was a working student from the ages of 10-15 years old and have my own horse so big dogs don’t scare me. I know how to deal with skittish or aggressive dogs because I had to learn to groom my own goldendoodle as he got older and became unpredictable due to dementia. It is important for me to make sure the animals I look after feel heard, are never left alone for too long, and have fun during my time with them! Please feel free to reach out with any other questions!! I only have one other job exercising steeple chase horses in the early mornings so I have a lot of availability to make house visits or spend the day as much as you would need me to! I also love to go on walks and take hikes, so if I am looking after an Active dog it is no problem! If your dog likes to play with other dogs I have a fenced in yard and two other dogs of mine who are very friendly. I am very neat and organized so the chance of your animal eating something or getting into something they’re not supposed to is very slim.

About: I have experience working at a boarding facility for 2 years-current, which has given me skills in training puppies and providing specialized care for senior dogs. Your pets are in good hands! -additional rates (such as additional dogs/holiday rates) can be discussed per request! Pet care fits really well into my routine. I currently work part time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the week. Since I’m not in school right now, I’m able to dedicate consistent time and attention to the pets I watch, whether it’s for walks, check ins, or overnight care. In my home, I create a safe and comfortable environment with plenty of playtime and regular walks. In clients' homes, I follow their routines closely, ensuring pets feel secure and loved.

Jessica and her fiancée are amazing. I left my 1 year old golden retriever with them for an entire week. Griffey is still a little rambunctious, but he seemed to have a great time playing in their backyard and with Jessica’s other dogs! In addition, Jessica sent lots of pictures and videos throughout the week which put my mind at ease. I would definitely use her again.

We had a last minute need for a dog sitter, and Julie quickly set up a meet and greet and did a great job taking care of our two dogs in our home for two nights! One of our dogs is skeptical with strangers but she was great with him and he warmed up to her. She also shared pictures and updates during our trip! Thanks Julie! 😊

She communicated with me at least once each day. She also verified that I had gotten home when expected. I have complete trust and confidence in Kelsey. FAQs for House Sitting - Wicker

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Wicker on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 296 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wicker. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wicker walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wicker maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wicker choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wicker. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
