“We are very happy and would highly recommend Matthew and this app to anyone! Both my dogs warmed up to Matthew immediately and were happy to see him every time. It has been a huge relief to know there is someone close by that we trust.”

About: I've had pets all my life, such as dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and fish. I have experience caring for chickens & lizards as well. I have fostered puppies also. My animals are part of my family & I will look after yours in the same way & with the same love. I am a stay-at-home Mom. Your pet will have lots of attention and love. I have dogs also so your pup can make a friend. I have a fenced yard and friendly dogs to play with your furbaby. My living room is gated off if your pup needs separate attention.
About: Hi there! I’ve had the privilege of working at the McDowell County Animal Shelter, where my passion for animals truly began to grow. That love for pets later led me to become a doggy daycare attendant in Wilmington. Over the last few years, I’ve really enjoyed meeting new people, spending time with pets, and making lasting connections through Rover. With hands-on experience in walking, feeding, playtime, and giving lots of love, I’m dedicated to making sure every pet in my care feels safe, happy, and comfortable. ⏰ My Schedule: I work a 9–5 during the week, but I’m available for before/after work visits or overnight stays—and my weekends are completely free for pet sitting, walks, and extra snuggles. Clients often tell me their pets look happy and relaxed in the photos and videos I send. I believe animals can feel when they are genuinely loved, and that’s the kind of care I bring to every visit. Under my care, your pets will always have: ✔ Fresh food and clean water ✔ Regular walks and exercise ✔ Plenty of cuddles, play, and attention ✔ Memorable photo and video updates 📸 My promise is simple: to treat your pets like family and give you peace of mind while you’re away.🐶🐾🐱 Caring for pets is a natural part of my daily routine. I make sure they have healthy food, clean water, exercise, and a comfortable space to relax. During the week, I’m available for before and after work visits, and on weekends I’m completely free to provide longer stays, walks, and extra attention. Pet care fits easily into my schedule because I truly enjoy it—it doesn’t feel like work, it feels like quality time with a furry friend. When I care for pets—whether in my home or in a client’s—I focus on creating a safe, loving, and comfortable environment. I make sure they always have fresh food, clean water, exercise, and plenty of affection. Every pet is unique, so I pay close attention to their routines and personalities to keep them happy and at ease. To give you peace of mind, I send regular photo and video updates so you can see your pet enjoying their time and feeling cared for. My goal is simple: for you to feel completely confident that your furry family member is safe, loved, and well taken care of while you’re away.
About: https://www.rover.com/sit/kaitlr39001 I have about 4 years of experience with medically fragile dogs as my dog is a diabetic and takes insulin and requires a prescription diet with frequent potty breaks as well as one other dog who is on daily medications. My other senior pup has discospondylosis so daily medications are something I am very very familiar with as well as being more careful and slower with pups. I currently do part time work from home so I am almost always available to pet sit or board or in home pet sit or even walk your animals. I am a HUGE advocate for animal safety regardless of breed. I love all animals and would never put my dogs or any other animal in harms way.
About: My husband and I both work from home and have a large, fenced-in yard. We have one dog and two cats of our own and have previously fostered both dogs and cats with the Asheville Humane Society. Not only am I a huge animal lover, but I also am well versed in dog behavior and can administer medicine if needed. If you’d like references, please let me know and I’d be happy to provide some for you. I’ll treat your pup like one of my own, including lots of belly rubs, play and treat time and of course, I’ll send you photos so you know your dog or cat is okay. We are conveniently located 15 minutes from Downtown Asheville and 10 minutes from Black Mountain. If you’re visiting Asheville and need recommendations on where to eat and things to do, let me know! My husband and I both work from home, so your dog will receive lots of attention during their stay. We have many dog beds, toys, and big windows that many Rover dogs have enjoyed looking out of. We have a large, fenced-in yard and two friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. Our two cats have been with us since they were just a few weeks old (they are foster fails), so they grew up with our dogs and are used to dogs. I work from home and have a flexible schedule. I’m happy to customize your experience specifically for your fur baby with their likes and dislikes! We have a secure, fenced in yard for potty breaks and play time. We have reliable transportation should an emergency arise. We have doggy steps for our two senior dogs, if your dog needs to use them too.
“Our dog took to Ashlee like she was family. She was always there when she planned to be and the communication was excellent. We are so grateful for her professional approach and hometown kindness. Well done!”

About: 25 years of heartfelt experience caring for dogs and cats of all sizes and ages, I bring genuine love and expert knowledge to every furry friend. Whether it’s a playful puppy, a wise senior cat, or anything in between, my deep understanding ensures compassionate, personalized care that nurtures their health and happiness. Every pet is treated like family, making their well-being and joy my top priority. Extremely flexible schedule, I am willing to travel, work remotely, willing to respond quickly, living on 1.5 acres, here to help with your doggie needs. I have a dog runner, crate, and one friendly female fixed golden retriever named Fenway to keep your dog company if he or she wishes.

About: I have worked Animal Rescue, Fostering, Rehabilitation, and Adoptions the last 6 years! I understand pet parents, can easily follow instructions, and will stay alert to your pet needs! I will value your pet as I would my own! I currently work remotely, so I am extremely flexible. If not house sitting, I can make as many or little stops at your house as needed. I prefer to not board animals at my home. I do not have a fenced in yard, so it is not very suitable for a dog.
About: I have had many different animals my entire life including cats, ferrets, chinchillas, chickens, ducks, hamsters, rabbits… In my 20’s I founded “Not Just Pets, Professional Pet Care”. In my 30’s I founded “Equine Specialist, Care and Training”. I had horses for over 30 years. I trained, showed, pleasure road, belonged to 3 horse clubs and eventually started my own 4-H club. I have bred and trained Boston Terriers and German Shepherds. Currently, I have 4 dogs that I rescued from a SC kill shelter. I have worked with Aly from Coal Mountain and Karen from Arcadia Animal Rescue’s. Both have been amazed by how well adjusted the four dogs have become considering how terrified they were in which no one else would take a chance on. Animals are my passion and greatest friends! I am currently taking an online course to become a Certified Canine Massage Therapist. I work for myself taking care of Seniors and animals. Relocated 04.07.2025 from Maine. I make my own schedule and am flexible to care for your furry family! Every situation can be different. Meeting with the client and their animals is important. I like to know about any vices, medications, vet info, where supplies are at, etc. Taking notes and leaving daily notes for each client keeps communication open and I find is appreciated.
About: With many years of experience as a veterinary technician in both shelter and clinic settings, I bring a deep understanding of animal behavior, health, and care to every pet I work with. My hands-on experience ranges from administering medications and handling emergencies to comforting anxious pets and supporting their emotional well-being. I’ve worked with animals of all sizes, temperaments, and medical needs, making me exceptionally well-prepared for pet sitting, dog walking, and providing attentive, professional care. Your pets will be in the hands of someone who treats them with the same compassion, patience, and expertise that I’ve developed over years in the field! I love being able to meet other people's fur babies and make them feel safe and happy when under my care.❤️ I am currently only working two days a week at my veterinary clinic, which leaves me with a fairly open and flexible schedule. This allows me plenty of time to dedicate to pet sitting, dog walking, and providing reliable, attentive care for your pets when you need it most. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I prioritize their comfort, safety, and routine. I make sure to follow any specific instructions regarding feeding, medications, exercise, and behavior. In my home, I provide a clean, pet-friendly environment with plenty of attention, playtime, and a calm atmosphere. When caring for pets in their own home, I maintain their regular routine to reduce stress, keep their space tidy, and make sure they feel secure and loved while their owners are away. My background as a veterinary technician means I’m also confident handling any special needs or medical situations that may arise.
“Alexis was absolutely fantastic with Lula! Lula clearly had a great time with her. Had a great walk, play time and just spent time with her. From the moment she stepped into my apartment, Lula instantly took to her. I also have two cats who warned right up to her as well. Would never be able to recommend her enough to anyone who needs a pet sitter/walker.”

About: I have pet sat for many families in the past. I have about 3 regulars. I started pet sitting in my neighborhood about 2 and a half years ago and also got on another app and have had about 2 sittings from there. I have pet sat mostly dogs but also cats. I have done overnights, visits throughout the day, boarding in my home, walking, etc. I am also about to start including dog training! I also would love to add in hiking! I would even be up for doing day care in my home! I have also cared for senior dogs and have experience with giving medications. I have a German Shepherd so I love to get out and be active! I am currently working part time but am planning to go fully to pet sitting so I can help more pet owners out! I am not in school so I will be available the whole day to spend time with your pups. Your pup will be able to go outside when needed and get love 24/7. We have a fully fenced yard so lots of room for your pup to run! We also go on daily walks and sometimes enjoy going out hiking or to the park. I am very keen on crate training so your pup will need to be crated while unsupervised in my home. This is for mine and my dogs safety but also for your dogs safety! We keep our home very clean and dog/ puppy proof so no need to worry about your pup getting into anything! We also keep chew bones up and any high value items up. They get these high value items when they are individually in their crates or their own space! We have three dogs for your pup to play and socialize with always under supervision of me or the other person in my home.

About: “I have taken care of dogs my whole life and currently have a sweet pug puppy named Willow. I love taking dogs on walks, giving them playtime, potty breaks, snuggles, and lots of attention. I treat every dog like my own — with patience, kindness, and positive reinforcement. Whether it’s a quick drop-in or an overnight stay, your pup will feel safe, happy and deeply loved in my care I work from home as an artist and am almost always here, so your dog will get consistent walks, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of snuggles throughout the day. They won’t be left alone except for quick errands. 🐾 My home is very dog-friendly with a fully fenced in yard, tons of toys, comfy dog beds, and lots of space to relax. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and in my bed (just like my own pups). I treat every dog like part of the family — with lots of love, patience, and positive reinforcement. 🐾
About: Hi! My name is Jade and I am an avid dog enthusiast and college student. I currently own a 1 year old Australian Shepherd and boy oh boy does he have energy. Before him I had another Aussie (female) who acquired cancer around 7-8years old, because of this I have sadly become very skilled with working with sick/hurting dogs. I also love to train dogs, my current Aussie has a Novice Trick Dog title from AKC and we are working on his intermediate title while learning Conformation skills and Therapy dog skills. I am very patient with the pups and am a big believer in positive reinforcement. My Aussie is registered and I am very good friends with his breeder who is very knowledgeable in this field and is always happy to lend a hand. Currently I have no dogs at home, because I live in Tennessee for college and my Aussie is back with my family in Texas. Thanks for your consideration!! I’m currently a student, so I have a very flexible schedule in which I can take care of animals in your home or mine! I love walking dogs (I live in a safe-gated apartment complex) and chilling on the couch with sweet cats! I have a large apartment, and can take the dogs on long walks to suit their needs. I’m diligent about always feeding and watering animals before myself and am fully committed to the wellbeing of the fur babies in my care!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
