Leigh was amazing with Duch yet again! I was updated without having to ask and had the peace of mind that Duch was in great care! Leigh goes above and beyond and I was so thankful to come back to a happy pup!

Matthew took good care of our very large, reactive dog while we were away. He sent us photos daily and was good at communicating if he had any questions. We will definitely be asking Matthew to watch our pup next time we go away.

Abby was great to work with! Her communication was amazing and she sent pictures of Bentley and kept me up to date with everything. She took excellent care of Bentley as well as my house. She played with him and took him for a walk even though it was cold and windy. I will definitely use her again and highly recommend her!

One of the hardest things about having pets is caring for them when we’re not able to. There’s just so much to worry about and too many nuanced details to convey to a house/dog sitter that it’s tough to be at ease. I’ll admit that I’m a little high-strung and using Rover for the first time for this service was not an easy decision. Fast forward to today…Heather is an absolute pro. You immediately get that she’s very experienced and respectful of your unique situation. She asks all the right questions and is an excellent communicator. Honestly could go on and on, but needless to say, we’re super pleased and I think found the high-mark on our very first try. We are already scheduled to see her again this summer and it’ll be the first time that I won’t worry about our dogs or home. Thanks Heather!

Brad did a fantastic job caring for our senior Greyhound in our home during an international trip. He was communicative, responsive, and asked questions when needed to ensure he was providing the best care for our girl. I’m very grateful that Brad’s professionalism allowed us to have a worry-free vacation! And a bonus- the house looks even better than when we left it.

Paz did a wonderful job sitting my dog at my house while I was away. She texted me with photos about twice a day, and asked me some questions that she wanted to know. I already booked her for another trip I'm going on this winter. I have no complaints at all about her care for my dog.

Angela went above and beyond while staying with my two old dogs for the weekend. She provided updates with pictures, managed my dogs meds, and kept them calm and comfortable while I was away (despite anxiety, storms, and fireworks!). I knew I didn’t need to worry about my dogs at all while they were in Angela’s care. I came home to two calm pups and an immaculate house. I feel we hit the jackpot with Angela!

Libby was amazing! We were supposed to make it to the Midwest for the holidays but instead got stuck in Atlanta. We made the call to come home at 11 PM and Libby offered to stay until the early morning when we got back. Completely respectful of our home and the dogs loved her. Cannot recommend her enough.

About: I am a huge animal lover. Grown up with dogs my whole life! I ride horses and am surrounded by all types of animals. Have done a ton of dog/house/farm sitting in my life. I work from home so will give them tons of love and attention! I currently work from home and have a very flexible schedule, where I can give them lots of love, take them out VERY frequently for walks etc. I am currently in a 2b2b apartment, with plenty of room for a dog to stay. I live just steps from parks and can walk them around the neighborhood extremely easily. Our apartment is extremely dog friendly with treats waiting at the front door of the lobby!

About: I have had dogs and all sorts of pets in my house my whole life. I have experience with dogs of all types and ages from training puppies only a couple months old to caring for very old dogs. I constantly take care of neighbors and friends dogs when they’re away and I can’t wait to love on yours as well. 💗 I am a rising senior student-athlete at WCU and have a good amount of during the day most days to walk dogs as well as plenty of time most weekends to dog sit/house sit. I always keep on eye on the pet and in the same room as me if dog/housesitting. I give them plenty of love and attention and let them out and for walks whenever needed and instructed. I will love each and every pet I work with as my own!

About: I have grown up with animals , cats and dogs. I also have been looking after animals consistently for over 23 years. I am comfortable with giving medications, taking care of small dogs in my house or yours, cats, caged animals ( hamsters, etc) . I am also open to care for small farm animals - goats, chickens . For care in my home my dad is home all day and would be able keep dogs company ( I am going to do all the walking). We have a pet park where we live. I am available in the early mornings and evenings for drop in visits. Unfortunately I can't do mid day visits. In the home my dad is home with them all day, I will do the walking, but he is able to take them out for potty breaks. In my home my cats are dog friendly, and they can have the run of the house or have private space depending on their needs. Our pets have free run of the house other then kitchen counters, they sleep with us, up on furniture, etc.

She is so sweet and was excellent with communication the whole time. Our dog loved her too and we will definitely use her again.

About: Hi! I’m Chassy! My husband and I have called Pennsylvania home for nearly 8 years, and we love opening our home to pets while their families are away. Remix, our friendly and easygoing 8-year-old Miniature Schnauzer, was my very first pet and sparked my love for caring for dogs. My husband grew up with two dogs and a cat, so together we’ve built a home that truly loves animals. Over the years, I’ve cared for the pets of family, friends, and Rover clients, giving me experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. Remix is happiest spending time with people, whether that’s going for a walk, relaxing on the couch, or taking a nap nearby. He also enjoys having furry friends over to visit. We understand that not every dog wants to socialize, so we’re always happy to keep pets separated if that helps everyone feel more comfortable. Whether your pet loves walks, playtime, or simply cuddling up for a nap, we’ll do our best to keep them on their normal routine and help them feel right at home. We only care for a limited number of pets at a time so each one receives plenty of individual attention, love, and care. We know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so we treat every dog like they’re part of the family while they’re in our care. You’ll receive regular updates and photos throughout their stay, and we’ll do everything we can to make sure both you and your furry family member have a stress-free experience. I work from home, which allows me to provide care and companionship throughout the day. Your pet won’t be left alone for long periods and will have plenty of opportunities for potty breaks, walks, playtime, and cuddles. I do my best to keep every pet on their normal routine so they feel comfortable and right at home. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. We live in a clean, pet-friendly home with our friendly 8-year-old Miniature Schnauzer, Remix. While we don’t have a fenced yard, all outdoor time is closely supervised, and dogs are always walked on a leash. If your dog prefers their own space or needs a break from socializing, we’re happy to separate pets as needed. We only care for a limited number of pets at a time so each one receives plenty of individual attention, love, and care.

I learned about Richardo through a trusted source where he came highly recommended (rescue organization I foster for), and have used him twice for several days each time. The bottom line is that he is fantastic with dogs and I highly recommend him!! And I am picky! My dogs need to be with someone I like and trust. I have a somewhat older German Shepard rescue who is fearful of some people and things. My second dog is a young I’d say “spirited” Golden Retriever. He gets both of them. My German Shepard likes Richardo and warmed up to him immediately, which means everything. My dogs were clearly happy while I was gone and I could tell also when I came home. For example, this past week the wild fires in Canada affected the area so they had to be inside. He kept them busy with toys, etc. He communicates well too, which is important to all of us. I highly recommend Richardo!

Annie was terrific with our attention-seeking, energetic, and noisy Doberman. She stayed at our house for several days while we were away and took wonderful care of him. Annie sent regular updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind and made it easy to relax knowing everything at home was going well. From what we can tell, our pup may have been even better behaved for Annie than he is for us. 🤣 From the house-sitting perspective, everything was perfect when we returned. Despite rainy weather (and plenty of muddy paws), the house was spotless. We highly recommend Annie and look forward to having her watch our Dobie again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Westtown

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Westtown on Rover is $77.7 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 5,207 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Westtown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westtown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westtown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westtown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westtown. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
