About: With several years of dedicated experience, I provide reliable and attentive care tailored to your dog's specific personality. I specialize in providing structured, engaging walks that ensure your pet gets the exercise and mental stimulation they need. I am also comfortable with senior care, understanding the patience and gentle approach required for older dogs who may have mobility issues or specific health needs. My goal is to maintain your dog's routine and happiness, so they feel cared for even while you're away. I also have strong familiarity with cats as I have one of my own and also foster kittens. Pet care fits into my lifestyle thanks to my part-time schedule working for a local game store and crafting. Because my work hours are flexible and limited, I have significant availability throughout the week to dedicate my attention to your pets. Whether it is providing midday walks, overnight stays, or consistent companionship, I can easily coordinate my professional commitments around your pet's specific routine to ensure they feel cared for. When caring for pets in a client's home, my top priority is maintaining a safe, secure, and stress-free environment that mimics their usual routine. I treat every home with the utmost respect, ensuring all doors and gates are securely locked and that the space remains clean and tidy. I follow your specific instructions to the letter; from feeding schedules and medication to favorite toys and boundary rules. I want your pets to feel comfortable and confident. By staying attentive to their behavior and keeping a close eye on their temperament, I aim to provide a trusted experience where your pets can feel safe in their own familiar environment. I am comfortable with sending as many or as few updates as you like.
“Did an amazing job and very responsive. Was able to come in clutch for a last minute booking after I had to go out of the country. Communication was great and my pup had so much fun with her. Felt very comfortable leaving my Suki in her care and will continue to book with her in the future!”

“We couldn’t be happier with Diane and the care she provided our 2 cats. She arrived promptly and on time for each visit, kept us updated on how the cats were doing, and even spent more time with them than she had to. We were able to enjoy our vacation thanks to her. Highly recommended!”

“The dogs were happy and healthy when I got home from my long trip and she even cleaned the floors from the muddy mess that occurred with the rain. Thanks so much.”

“Heather was amazing! She watched my kitties while I was out of town and made sure they were well taken care of. My kitties were fed, watered, litter boxes cleaned, and all the love and pets!”

“Wendy was very attentive and loving with our indoor kitty and outdoor kitty. She communicated with us when she was going to be late one day and asked if that was okay. Our kitties took a liking to her and they are very discerning - so it’s clear she is a true cat lover!”

“Brianna is amazing!!! She was able to jump in last minute to take care of my dog and I am so grateful! My dog loved her immediately and things went perfectly. She sent lots of pics during her visits and I appreciate that so much!”

About: I’ve had dogs for as long as I can remember, and I’ve grown up taking care of my own pets, as well as those of neighbors and friends. I’ve had experience feeding them on a schedule, playing with them, and letting them outside regularly. I’m currently on summer break, so I have a lot of free time. I’m usually available most days to take dogs for walks or check on pets. I will take care of your pets and treat them with love and care, ensuring they are happy and well-fed, as well as your home, which I will maintain with respect and cleanliness.
About: I’ve always been a dog lover and grew up taking care of, training, and of course loving my family dog, Potter. I have three years of pet sitting and dog walking experience but well over a decade of experience if you count Potter! I also have volunteer experience at the SPCA and Humane Society with both dogs and cats. I know how stressful it can be to find the right person to trust with taking care of your fur baby when you’re gone away or even out of the house for long hours during the day, and I pride myself on always providing the best care I possibly can from sending lots of photos and updates to following all of the sometimes silly and seemingly overcomplicated little rituals and routines your baby is used to doing when you’re home with them! I’m a professional ballet dancer and currently in my summer “off season” so my schedule is extremely flexible and can accommodate whatever works best for you and your pets! I always like to do an in person introduction with you and your pets so I’m able to get to know exactly how you guys like do things, and of course to get to know your fur baby so I’m not a total stranger when I’m looking after them while you’re away! I have first hand experience with good and bad pet sitters for my own fur babies so it’s really important to me that both you and your pets are comfortable and feel confident with me before I take care of them!

About: I’m new to Rover, but I have plenty of experience caring for pets for friends, family, and neighbors. I’ve helped with feeding, walks, playtime, check-ins, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I’m dependable, patient, attentive, and will treat your pets like they’re my own. I also understand how important it is to follow each pet’s routine and provide updates so you can feel comfortable knowing they’re in good hands. I work full-time, but I have plenty of availability for pet care throughout the week. I’m available all day Sunday through Tuesday. Wednesday through Saturday, I’m available around noon for drop-ins, walks, feeding, playtime, or other pet care needs. I’ll always communicate clearly and make sure your pet gets the attention and care they need. I always make sure pets are cared for in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, routines, walks, medications, and any special needs. I’m respectful of both the pet and the home, and I’ll provide updates so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is being well cared for.
About: Hi! I’m a dedicated and trustworthy dog walker who truly enjoys getting pups outside, active, and happy. Whether your dog needs a quick potty break or a longer walk to burn off energy, I’m here to make sure they get the exercise, attention, and care they deserve. Caring for animals isn’t something I squeeze in—it’s something I genuinely enjoy and naturally build into my everyday life. I stay active and keep a consistent routine, which allows me to give pets reliable, timely care without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. I have a small, secure yard for quick outdoor breaks, and I also make sure dogs get regular walks to stay active, stimulated, and happy. I’m able to provide: • Feeding based on your pet’s schedule and routine • Medication administration if needed • Overnight care in my home • Drop-in visits and care in your home • Walks, playtime, and companionship • Updates and photos so you always feel connected
“Amazing experience with laralen! She really shined in sending loads of pictures and keeping me updated with my pup while I was out of town. Would recommend her for any future pet needs”

“Sharon has done so amazing with my Cleo, who isn’t very trustworthy of strangers. She easily won over her trust & updated with photos at each drop-in, and made sure she knew everything she needed to know to care for my fur baby. 10/10 recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of my family & friends dogs and cats for as long as I can remember. Would love to take great care of yours as well! I currently work 8-5 and am looking to fit in pet sitting as a side hustle. I am completely free outside of my work hours & on weekends. I am most interested in house sitting, drop-by visits (walks, playing, feeding, etc.) and any other way I can provide care in your home .

“Ava was perfect for my 11 year old lab while I was gone for a week. She was super communicative and flexible giving consistent updates and paying attention to how my dog was acting so I didn’t have to stress or wonder.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Westover Hills
Heather is amazing! She has watched our kitties for us a couple of times now and we are grateful to have someone trustworthy when we are out of town. Our kitties are pretty shy, so it has been amazing having someone who can meet our kitties where they are at and create a comfortable environment for them while we are gone. I highly recommend Heather and we will be using her every time moving forward! ⭐️🐾🤩

Was able to come before the booking to meet Maverick as he was a recent adoptee to the family and got along great with him. Super friendly and understanding and continues to be a great sitter for when I’m out of town. Asks questions and follows instructions and very responsive. Thank you once again!

Always glad to rebook with Hana to take care of my cat while I’m out of town. Hana even went the extra mile this time and put out food for some neighborhood cats that hang out on my porch. Also, this time, my cat is having some new health issues which made it hard for me to leave her for a week. But, I felt so much more comfortable knowing Hana was keeping an eye on her. I’d recommend Hana to anyone.

Adelaide was fantastic! My dog is normally nervous around new people but she warmed up to Adelaide right away. Adelaide was very responsive, made sure to keep us updated throughout the duration of our trip, and always uploaded photos from her visits with our pup. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter!

First time visit at sitter Sarah’s home, along with several other dogs around; wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere; very pet-friendly; GREAT grassy backyard; my dog Nikita felt super comfortable there, with Sarah and with the other dogs; excited to have Nikita experience future DayCare and Boarding in Sarah’s care.

Jenn was an amazing sitter for Josie! super reliable, consistent, and genuinely caring. I had total peace of mind knowing my dog was in such loving hands between overnight stays and consistent drop ins while I was at work. Communication was great, I always received great pictures and I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup every time. Highly recommend Jenn to take care of your furry friends!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
