“Wonderful and kind. Will certainly work with her again. Thank you so much for your help❤️❤️ it was a big ask but she stayed over night with our pups at our house. I appreciate her diligence and consideration”

“Madeline was wonderful! She took such great care of our babies while we were away and kept us updated daily with messages and pictures. She went above and beyond by bringing in our mail, washing our bedsheets, and even remaking the bed. We came home to a clean house and happy pets. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will definitely be booking Madeline again. Highly recommend!”

“Cindy took care of my 6 month old for a week. I am an anxious first time pet parent and she absolutely helped me get through the week in peace. She sent regular updates and pictures and I could see my little boy happy and playing in each of them. She is also super quick to respond. Thanks for all your help Cindy! We are thankful we found you.”

“Joey did an excellent job staying with my senior pup while I was away from home. Kept me updated, ensured my pup got his medicines, and gave him lots of attention while I was gone. Would book again!!”

“Michael took care of our 18 week boxer puppy on Saturday and did a great job. He is kind, considerate and made sure he thoroughly understood what care our dog needed and then delivered. We recommend Michael highly and will definitely use his services again.”

“Sara did a wonderful job and I will definitely book again. I was nervous about having a sitter, because a previous sitter had not done a good job (they had only let my dog out once a day!). Sara listened to my concerns and made sure to send me pictures every time she took the dog out, or fed him so I wouldn't worry. I didn't request it, and would have been OK if she hadn't done so, but was a nice touch that showed that she was listening. I am already planning to book her again.”

“Danielle stayed with our boys for a week over 4th of July. It was during the heat wave and our AC was having a hard time keeping up. She ensured us that the animals were cool and comfortable throughout her stay!”

“Brian was very attentive with my fur babies. He was always on time for the time windows that I gave him. He listens to instructions well and handles two large babies very well. Thank you for taking good care of them Brian!”

“Lauren was absolutely amazing!! I had to find a sitter last minute, and I loved her bio the moment I read it. She responded quickly to my request and made sure to nail out the details for my dog’s stay. I could tell she’s experienced and loves animals, and so could my dog! She sent regular updates and pictures, and when I saw my dog frolicking in her backyard and snuggled up later on in the evening like he forgot I had dropped him off was all I needed to set my mind at ease haha! Lauren is a fantastic sitter and I will absolutely be booking her again. Thank you so much!!”

“Mackenzie was great! She was on time, communicated well and was super nice. She took great care of our pup and was respectful of our home. Will definitely book her again next time we need a dog sitter!”

“Stephen stepped up when I had a near-emergency, last-minute need to book. No time for a meet & greet, everything set up via text...and did great. 2 big dogs (combined weight: 230lbs) in a big house, no problem. Highly recommend!”

“Naho was so sweet. She took great care of my cat and communicated with me daily. She went the extra mile to find things to do with my cat, making snacks for her and even made the cutest crochet hat for her! Love her!”

“Nora was amazing!! She followed my instructions and I can tell my pup had a great time. She was on time and such a kind person. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Hampton
Joey has been our go-to sitter for a few visits now, but after this last visit he really showed his dedication to our animals. Our dog had a pretty intense medical episode during our sitting and Joey followed instructions beautifully and went above and beyond for our boy. He kept communication consistent and made us feel comfortable being away during such a stressful time. I could not recommend Joey enough after this sitting. Thanks again, Joey!

Adahy was amazing with our dogs and kitty! He was very reliable and communicative, and it was obvious from the start that he genuinely cared about them. We felt comfortable leaving our pets and home in his care, and came back to happy dogs and everything even cleaner than we left it. We'll definitely be booking Adahy again!
Alyssa was so wonderful with our three dogs! We were nervous about having a new sitter and she took to them like a duck takes to water. We received so many photos that perfectly captured the essences of each. They looked like professional photos! We will definitely be booking with Alyssa again!

Sara took great care of Piper while we were out of the country for 12 days! She went above and beyond with pupdate photos, left our home clean with mail organized and ready. From the beginning, she demonstrated excellent professional communication and was quick to respond. I would work with Sara again and recommend her services to neighbors.

If angels walked on earth…I can’t say enough great things about Jennifer. I was terrified to leave our elderly dog, who already needed extra care and then had an upset tummy on top of his normal issues. Jennifer was like an angel. She comes with knowledge of elderly dogs and some medical conditions already, and she was communicative and observant caring for our dogs. This trip could have been a nightmare for me, but she made it enjoyable and stress-free. I’d hire her again in a heartbeat.

Amanda took wonderful care of our fur baby, Frodo Baggins, while we were out of town for spring break. She made sure he was fed, walked, and received his medication on schedule, which gave us such peace of mind. We especially appreciated the daily updates and photos, it meant so much to know he was happy and well cared for while we were away. We also came home to a clean, welcoming space, which was such a thoughtful touch. Amanda went above and beyond, and we will absolutely be calling her again!

Alex was great! She was attentive to our pup and the things we asked of her. She was respectful of our home and she made sure our guy was well loved and taken care of while we were traveling. Her communication was excellent as well! I would definitely use her again and recommend her to others!!

Alayna was awesome! She watched our 3 large dogs for 10 days and took such great care of them. I got regular updates and pics, and it was obvious they were super happy and comfortable. When an issue came up with one of our pups, she alerted us right away and was very helpful. Came home to three relaxed pups and everything just as I left it. Totally recommend her — will definitely be booking again!

10/10 would recommend Nani to any & everyone that needs a sitter! She watched our two dogs at our home for 18 days while we were in Europe & did such an amazing job! She kept us will informed with our pups by sending videos & pictures. Nani also ensured our house was nice & clean when we got home! If you are looking for someone who will keep it professional AND love on your animal family members, Nani is the right choice for you.

This was our first time leaving our dogs with someone that wasn’t our family. Thankfully Esteban was available. He understood how to handle our high energy dobermans including my puppy. My dogs LOVE him now. I feel relieved knowing we can count on him in the future.

I wanted my dog to have human companionship while I was out of town for a week. She has separation anxiety and has never been left alone. Christina not only spent some time during the day with her, but she spent several nights listen my dog as well. And it didn't cost any more than a kennel where she would have been alone in a cage most of the time.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in West Hampton on Rover is $57.72 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Hampton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Hampton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Hampton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Hampton. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
