About: I grew up around multiple dog breeds in my childhood home which taught me how to read body language, learn different personalities, and develop a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes! My love for my childhood pets followed me after High School, where I worked at and managed a local pet supply store. I received my grooming certificate there as well as experience in puppy training. After owning different dog breeds, I’ve now found myself caring for a senior dog and various pets of my own! My experience with animals doesn’t stop at dogs, I also own 2 birds, 3 cats, and 2 different species of lizards! My neighborhood has feral cats that I feed and administer medications to if needed. With 7 pets, my daily care routine is very much hands on. The senior dog that I watch needs diaper changes as well as multiple walks throughout the day, since he is unable to use a backyard space after going blind. My cats get multiple meals a day, daily litter box scooping, and play time. Daily water and food twice a day keeps me busy with 2 birds. My 2 lizards need frequent misting, food every other day (including freshly chopped fruits and vegetables) and weekly cage cleaning. Our feral cats outside get food twice a day, and fresh water as well. The senior dog that I care for needs a lot of gentle efforts, like diaper changes and medication administered daily as needed. If necessary, I am capable of handling a sick or elderly pet that needs treatment provided in a comfortable and safe manner. Dog crates are no problem, as well as harnesses or gentle leaders. During dog walks, I usually change direction if another dog is coming, just in case the other pet isn’t friendly. Water breaks in hot weather are important, so I keep a convertible silicone dog bowl with me for water during a longer walk. If you provide a dog or cat toy, I can bring that along as well on walks and stop for a play break or visit the local dog park.

“Caylen has been absolutely wonderful with Xena! She is reliable, punctual, and incredibly attentive. Xena adores her and gets so excited for her midday walks every day. I also really appreciate how communicative Caylen is. She always lets me know if she notices anything or if something happens during their walk. She is so kind and caring, and it gives me such peace of mind knowing Xena is in such great hands. I am truly grateful for everything she does and highly recommend her!”

About: Since moving to Georgia at age 13, I have been a pet sitter, mostly for dogs. I have a passion for pets and enjoy walking and playing with them. I have sat for all ages of pets and love them all. I develop a bond with pets and have become the go to for many clients. I am available any day as sitting or walking will be my only job while in college. I like daytime hours but can do nights as well. I grew up with a dog and learned how to act around all pets as my father trained his dogs. I will be friendly and cautious with your pet until there is a familiarity. I have also cared for pets that were very nervous, very frisky and even at times ill. I will care for your pet as my own.

“Rachel does an amazing job with our Shih Tzu! She always comes as expected and he looks forward to her visits. She always leaves a detailed review of their time together along with pictures!”

“We have a hectic household with 3 dogs that don’t all walk together. Tanya walked all of them great and was super amenable to all the extras we needed to make it work. We highly recommended her!”

About: I have walked and cared for a variety of kinds of dogs for a variety of years and always include play/pet time. I have helped with puppy training and also cared for the seniors who need a little extra love and patience. With 2 high-energy dogs of my own I understand the importance of a long walk and time to burn off some energy! I currently work part-time on the weekends, so my greatest amount of flexibility is during weekdays. I do my best to schedule during times when I have availability to spend adequate quality time with the pets! Unfortunately due to my own animals I am unable to provide care for other animals from my own home, however I have experience staying in the homes of a variety of other clients which has helped keep their animals comfortable and on their usual schedule.

About: Hi there!! My name is Melanie and I owned a pet care and dog walking service in South Florida before relocating to Hiram, Georgia in 2023. There is no greater honor than being given the opportunity to care for your furry family members. I have watched dogs, cats, chickens, ferrets, birds, and am open to all different sorts of pets. I absolutely love dogs and cats, and caring for them is something I truly am passionate about. Your pets become my family, and I will always have their best interest at heart and keep an open line of communication with you. I am reliable, and try to make myself available for last minute requests, available for one-time or continuous services, and promise to deliver tail-wagging service. I am not available for boarding animals in my home, and I am not available for overnight stays at your home. If you have any questions for me, or want to see if I’m a good match for you and your pet(s), send a message! I would love to meet you! :) I work as a private nanny in Kennesaw, near KSU! I love caring for babies and animals ♥️ when I am able to, I also work as a substitute teacher for PCSD. I am committed to providing tail wagging service to your beloved pets and will ensure my schedule accommodates their needs. To ensure the safety of my client’s pets, I will always follow instruction to the letter. If your pet requires extra care or attention to keep them safe, I will never cut corners or leave in a rush. In so many cases, pets are like children, and I treat them with the same respect and attention a child would receive.
About: I am now an officially licensed and insured business named “Purr & Grrr LLC.” I’ve had my own dog and cat for the past 15 years. I have also house sitted and watched other dogs and cats as well. I’ve worked as a practice manager at a pet hospital for years. Due to recent events, I will not take dogs that are not neutered for boarding. My cat stays in my bedroom with no interactions with any of the dogs. I usually ask with requests about excessive barking, crate training, how they sleep, and how they interact with other dogs. ADDED SERVICE - At request, my girlfriend does Reiki for people and pets. $55 charge per session for animals and $100 for a 60 minute session for people. Mini sessions for $60. When booking, please let me know if you are interested. Her company is called Cosmic Balance. Thank you! UPDATE. You will see a recent review for me from an owner who wasn’t honest about the dog and his behaviors and how he treated his dog with “training.” I don’t want to share the details of what his dog did because it was horrible and he laughed about it. I have and always will take the action that is for the safety and care of all of the pets I care for as I do this because I love animals. All of them. So the updates for safety that I have taken are the following. 1. All dogs unless they are from the same family will be outside by themselves. 2. While they will never be out with another dog besides a related dog, I have purchased pepper spray, dog whistles, and several other items to react in such a situation if anything happens. 3. I’ve lowered the amount of pets that I take at a time. 4. I thoroughly ask questions and vet whoever I’m watching to make sure it’s safe for all parties. 5. I have always had cameras wherever the pets are, and will continue to do so. 6. I have a calming pets video playing 24/7 for all pets. 7. I have a thermometer that monitors temperatures at all times and sets off alarms if it’s too low or too high. 8. I will no longer watch breeds that can be aggressive. Unfortunately this individual treated their dog with abuse in his response and something triggered him to attack another friends dog in my care that I needed to respond in order to break up his dog attacking another dog that resulted in two surgeries requiring a complete reconstruction of her ear and an infection with pet bills that he paid for, not rover. That poor dogs owner can attest to that and has been in communication and I will continue to be her dog sitter because her dog is so sweet and wouldn’t even know how to defend herself. The situation upset me deeply and this person was vindictive and manipulative. I’ve never encountered something like this before or a human being who would laugh at such a thing, or attempt to harm my business in such a way. Please be assured that your pet will be treated with care, safety, and kindness. I work full time but I live 10 minutes from my job. All pets get walked frequently and checked on frequently and are well taken care of. I’m in a house now with a fenced in backyard with plenty of room. I have crates, bowls, toys, and plenty of space in the house where the pets will stay. It is climate controlled along with cameras, TVs, a very large play area, and calming music is played at all times.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
