“Hailee was able to come do a drop in check on my pup with less than 24 hrs notice. My dog looked super happy in the photos she took so I know Rook had a nice visit!”

“Caroline took excellent care of our three cats while we were out of town for 9 days, checking in on them twice per day. We have two kittens and one adult cat. The kittens can be quite messy, and require lots of attention. Our adult cat is shy, is very afraid of new people, and doesn’t like her routine disrupted. They all get wet and dry food, and have specific preferences. Caroline followed our detailed instructions for feeding, and kept the house in top shape. She was very patient with our adult cat, and even managed to get her to take some treats. We received detailed feedback and adorable photos from each check in. She was responsive to messages, and reached out with any questions. It gave us peace of mind to know that our cats were in great hands! We highly recommend Caroline, and will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Alaya and Lily were wonderful! We needed someone to stop by to let our dogs out and feed them while we were at our wedding and they took such great care of them. We accidentally locked the door on our way out and I wasn’t responsive on my phone (I was busy walking down the aisle!) and they figured out a plan b to get the dogs without my help. Such a relief! I also got lots of picture updates which put me at ease :)”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Isabella! She treats my dog with so much love and patience, and it truly shows every time he sees her he gets so excited. I always feel completely at ease knowing he’s in her care. Isabella is attentive, responsible, and genuinely caring. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and amazing with pets. She’s the best! 🐾💛”

About: I have taken care of family pets since I was little! I have taken care of cats and dogs. I have also volunteered in animal shelters! I am a teacher who is off for the summer! I have plenty of time to take care of your sweet pets! Overnight stays, walks, check ins I prioritize your pet's safety and comfort within their own home. I'll ensure all doors and windows are secure, and I'm mindful of any potential hazards. My visits will be scheduled to provide consistent companionship and avoid leaving your pet alone for extended periods. I'm happy to follow any specific security routines you have in place.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs around my neighborhood for my whole life, and I have two dogs of my own that I help take care of. I love dogs and have always enjoyed helping take care of them. I am currently living in Cape May, but I am available every week day to walk/ sit or take care of your dog. I am available Monday - Friday. I have a safe environment in my home with two other dogs. A fenced in yard with rocks in the back. I could host dogs in my home but I believe it would be better for me to come to the client.
“Sicilia was amazing! Our kitty Jake absolutely loves her. He warmed up to her right away. We felt such peace of mind while we were away. She sent lots of pictures also. And great updates daily. We totally recommend her!”

About: I've taken care of animals for neighbors, family, and friends for some time. I am reliable and flexible with schedules to accommodate early mornings or late nights. I'm currently part time with a flexible schedule and happy to fit anything I can into it. Just reach out to me and we can discuss the circumstances. I have a fenced yard and a friendly small 40lb labradoodle, with lots of space to sprawl and nap inside the house as well. I live in a neighborhood and have space to take dogs on long or short walks.
About: I have been in the animal care business my whole life! My mom used to run her own animal care business where I would go on all of her animal visits since I was in kindergarten. I trained my two puppies at age 10, have been volunteering at the local animal shelter for 3 years, and have started my own small clientele of dogs whom I care for through overnight stays for over a week, 3 check-ins a day for each dog, and lots of time for playing and cuddling to make sure they are happy and comfortable, while building their trust. I understand patience is key when caring for animals who see me as a new, unfamiliar face, and I always ensure the animals comfort is my top priority! My main gig at the moment is animal care, so I can build my own schedule/routine around the animal care bookings that I have for that week, so your pet will be my priority! In my clients homes, I make sure that the essentials like food and water are given, and I will make sure that there is nothing out that could harm them. My main focus is walking the dog in the start of my visit, and playing and winding down for rest time at the end, so they are able to rest and relax when I am not there/until their next visit. For cats, I would feed and refill their water, play with them, and provide affection depending on their personality and how comfortable they are. I will also clean out their litter.
“How much better can it get? Our four cate vary from snuggy to aggestive nasty, and Mary makes friends with all four. Previous sitters have never seen 1 or 2 of them over 2+ weeks. They are all comfortable with Mary, and we will book her again for our next trip in November. SHE IS BEST our 4 cats say.”

I am currently in school full time but have plenty of time throughout the week, as well as weekends, to care for all of your pets! Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
