“Anita always makes the time to care for my cat Prince, we really appreciate your cat sitting skills and compassion. Will be back again and again booking with her!”

“Sophie was great with our dogs. She was very communicative, took lots of photos and went above and beyond what a typical dogsitter would do. Highly recommend. We'll be using her again for sure.”

“Booked Stephanie for several drop-in visits while I was out of town for a quick weekend trip and she was wonderful! This was my first time using Rover in over 8 years and I was feeling a little anxious about my pup not being able to stay with friends of mine like she usually does. Stephanie navigated my overly-detailed (read: anxious pet parent) instructions, answered all of my questions, helped me amend the booking when I realized I’d made an error, and was super communicative and responsive both prior to my trip as well as during! Lots of photos in the report cards! I will definitely try to book her again in the future! Thanks, Stephanie!”

“Ashley is our #1 go to for taking the best care of our senior pup. She is reliable and thoughtful and it’s so comforting to know we can count on her to help keep our pup on her schedule when we are away from home.”

“Rachel did a great job with our very tentative Lab, Rue. We will definitely book her again. By day 2 Rue seemed at ease going on a walk with Rachel. She sent us photos during her time with Rue. She expressed concern to us at one point because Rue wasn't eating. I knew she was taking good care of our girl, Rue!!”

About: ~Hello, dear friends & furry children! (: My name is Mariah, & I am a 31 year old woman from TN. I am a CNA—certified nurse assistant, who has provided care for several senior patients & families in the Nashville area, within the privacy of their homes. I have assisted patients with daily hygiene, toileting, meal assistance, medication management, sit to stand transfers & movement through the home, housekeeping, grocery shopping, office work for the past 3 years. I have also slept over at one of my patients home many times & made sure her whole house was locked up before we went to bed & everything was taken care of. ~Pets have been a part of my life from a very early age. My sisters had kittens & cats that they cared for when we were growing up, and I owned 2 sweet doggies from the time I was in 8th grade to 29 years old. My second doggy, I raised from the time she was a tea cup sized puppy to her passing at 14 years old. She truly was my fur child, & I grieved her passing. I drove her to vet visits, paid for her medication & surgery. I bathed her, fed her, paid for her food, walked her, held her, & cuddled her as much as I could. She is now buried in my parents’ backyard with a statue to honor her sassy little sweet life, & I keep pictures of her in my room. ~As a dog/house sitter, in the past, I have dogsat for 2 different families while they were away & stayed at their homes. I have provided backyard play, dog walks, followed feeding instructions, & given lots of pets & cuddles. These two dogs were an Australian shepherd puppy & another breed I can’t recall. I have also taken care of my patients’ pets. A calico rescue cat named Callie. I fed her, cleaned her water dishes, refilled her water containers, cleaned out her litter box, vacuumed her room, & gave her lots of attention. Sadie, a Maltese senior dog who I took outside for bathroom visits & supervised while my patient held her leash. Sophie, another sweet senior Pit mix rescue dog who just needed bathroom breaks outside, water, cuddles, & a few short walks. And Gretschen, a goldendoodle with high energy. We went outside together frequently for backyard play with his many toys, neighborhood walks, & fed him twice a day & added his probiotic powder. I look forward to hopefully meeting & taking care of your fur child & home! (: I am currently in a job transition. I am a certified CNA. I provide care for senior patients & patients diagnosed unexpectedly within their home. It has been a privilege. Many of my patients have become like family. I have also taken care of many pets within the home as well as provided dogsitting/housesitting services. I am available for long boarding stays & can even do housekeeping, dog walks & care, anything that is needed for pet care throughout the week. I have open availability. I have a large partially fenced in backyard. I have a great neighborhood for dog walking with side walks leading all the way to the Publix near my house as well as coffee near my house that is dog friendly. I have a dogsitting outdoor restaurant that I could take your dog to..to play & interact with other dogs if socializing is important to you. I also have a public park I could take your dog to. It’s 5 minutes away by car. Obviously this is all if you needed care provided within my home, but I can definitely provide care from your home & neighborhood.

About: I live with 7 dogs and 1 cat! One is a senior disabled dog. First time on rover but not a first time pet lover! I boycott zoos, and I care about the details. I do have a main job and my schedule does vary week to week but if I have at least a 5 day notice I’ll be able to accommodate With cats I always respect their boundaries make sure they’re are fed, have clean water to drink and are comfortable. Dogs I always show love and pets and give them undivided attention. I can take them out whenever is needed even walk them.
“We have now used Laura two times. She did an excellent job in keeping us updated on our cats. She always sent pictures with a recap after each visit. The cats were well cared for while we were gone. We will definitely continue to ask Laura to watch our cats when we need help.”

About: I have been caring for cats, dogs, and other animals for over 20 years, and have experience with pets of all ages and personalities — from playful kittens and puppies to sweet senior companions. I also have volunteer experience at an animal shelter caring for small animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, and mice. I especially gravitate toward animals who may be shy, nervous, or need extra time to feel comfortable. I’ll create a safe, loving environment for your pet ❤️ and give every pet the attention, respect, and care they deserve while their family is away. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I enjoy having animals in my life and make time to provide attentive, reliable care. I am able to plan my schedule around visits and walks, ensuring that each pet receives the time, attention, and consistency they need. I understand that pets thrive on routine, and I will make sure to follow their normal schedule, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions from their family. I believe pets are happiest when they can stay in the place they know best, surrounded by their own smells, routines, and comforts. I provide care in my clients’ homes and take the time to learn each pet’s personality and needs. I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine, provide loving attention and companionship, and keep you updated with photos and notes so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away.
“Heather did a meet & greet the day before we had her scheduled. She was a great fit for our two Golden Retrievers. She completed both visits including notes and pictures. We will definitely use Heather again!”
“Amy took such great care of our senior cat! She handled his medication injections well and clearly cared about his well being, I felt so comfortable knowing he was in good hands while we were away. Would recommend her to anyone - we will definitely book again!!”
About: I have always been an animal lover and have grown up with dogs in my home. Neighbors, family and teachers/professors have relied on me to walk, feed and tire out their pets when they are out of town or gone for long periods of time. I have 2 dogs of my own and know how easy it is to worry about if they are okay when they are home for long durations of time without a check in or walk. I'm available after 3:30 Monday through Friday and anytime on Saturday and Sundays. Can also be available for lunch breaks on Monday, Thursday and Friday if needed. Depending on what the dog owners are comfortable with and if the space permits, I love to play in fenced in backyards to tire out fur babies (fetch, tug of war, chase, etc). I also love a good walk with lots of sniff and potty breaks!
About: Our oldest Yorkshire had pups, unexpectedly 6. It was hard to give them away to just anyone we had to vet each potential owner. It took several years, but for that time duration I had the pleasure to care for 6-7 pets at once. This involve organized feed time, walks, and clean up. With pets that I am taking care of, I plan my schedule around pet care. In other words, pet care is one of my first priorities. I believe that pets have their own style of living based on their owners and environment. Every pet has a different style of living. Therefore, I care for pets with the utmost respect and preference.

About: Looking for a loving companion for your dog (or cat) while you're away? Look no further! My immense love of dogs started at quite a young age. And after much begging to my mother, we rescued my childhood dog from a humane society shelter in Ft. Worth, TX, and the rest is history. With me, you can rest easy knowing that your beloved family member is receiving all the love and care possible. Animals are not a job, but a life passion of mine! My first pet sitting experience, at the age of 6 (under the supervision of my mother), is one I won't soon forget. The neighbors had tasked me with watching their cat while they were away. The only problem was that they had forgotten to leave us a key to the apartment. Times like this one taught me to be quick on my feet in emergent situations. In the end, we were able to secure a key, and the cat was safe and well cared for. Over the years, my experience grew immeasurably, and even included a long standing stint as a "dog nanny" when her dog mom and dad vacationed. Expect for your furry family member to receive extra doses of love, top-notch care, walks, play time, snuggles (at no extra charge), and more! If you hire me, know that I look at this not as a job, but as a life passion. Your little (or not so little) loved one will be in great hands! * Willing to lock in prices for regular clients!! :) *** Please note that I do work 8 hour shifts 3-5 days per week right now. If your baby has separation anxiety, this is probably not the best fit. I do always make sure my dogs get good walks, treats, and food in before my shifts. *** I live at the end of a cul de sac that offers plenty of outdoor and walking space! I also live alone, so no roommates or other dogs (although I do sometimes have multiple Rover clients at once pending the dogs do well with each other, so please let me know if your dog must be booked solo). I am in between jobs at the moment, so Rover is my full time income. This means extra quality time and love for your babies! If your dog is crate trained, feel free to bring it along, as this can provide a sense of comfort and safe space them. I do have a camera that I sometimes use to check in on the dogs, should I have to leave to run a quick errand or something.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West. On Rover:

- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
