“Kiersten was amazing with my anxious dog! She was patient with him and did a great job making him comfortable. She paid super close attention to his preferences and behaviors, which I really appreciated. She was super reliable as well.”

“Aurore takes out dog on weekly walks and she is wonderful! She clearly loves animals and our dog is so happy to be getting more exercise. We would highly recommend Aurore for any pet care needs.”

“Kendra was incredible! She was so easy to communicate with and provided excellent care for our two dogs. She also sent regular updates and photos. It is clear that she truly cares for animals and is very knowledgeable. We would absolutely hire her again.”

“Susan was great! My dog had a wonderful time at her place. It’s a quiet location in the woods, with two pet goats that Rennie got to hang out with and go on woods walks with. Susan was really flexible with my timing and communicated super quickly, both of which I totally appreciated. I’ll be glad to have my dog back to ‘summer camp’ there anytime!”

About: Greetings! I’ve had the pleasure of Dogsitting for more than a decade. It’s brings me so much joy and I can’t wait to meet your fur babies. Teryn, my partner, and I both grew up in Amherst and are back in the happy valley starting this summer. He works remotely and I work seasonally so we have the time to give our attention and affection to the pups we watch. Dogsitting has become our additional full time job and we love it! Our schedules and home allow us to give 24/7 attention to your furbabies with numerous outdoor breaks, play, and of course snuggles. Though I have fortunately never had to use it, I do have extensive Dogsitting insurance to cover both boarding and housesitting. We value the peace of mind it brings both us and our clients. I have a degree in Biology and worked as a Veterinary Technician, giving me the experience of various breeds and needs. Please feel free to message me with any questions you may have. Boarding dogs has become part of our daily routine so we have a schedule to fit all needs and preferences. Once you book with us, we work our schedule around the booking. I love enjoying walks around the lake we live on, as well as the many trails nearby. We can also play fetch in the backyard if pup can be off leash. Our house is in a very low traffic area full of nature. We are very attentive and we make sure we have details on their routines, feeding, medications and any special needs.
“We are so grateful to Lori, who hopped in the car and came a long way to help us out at the very last minute. She took our high energy 3-year-old lab on a fun hiking adventure and took so many cute photos. We will definitely use Lori again!”

“Michael is an amazing dog walker for Theo. He is always available for us, even if it’s only a day or so warning and Theodore absolutely adores him. He sends photo updates to me which makes me so happy to see Theo when I’m gone from work! Thank you Michael!!!”

“Carlea was amazing!! She was always communicative but also low key. I felt confident the dogs were getting their needs met (and my dogs are my children.. so they’re a little extra needy). I appreciated all the pics and comments Carlea sent. She was very available to help. I just can’t say enough great things about her!”

“Lilly was great to work with, as well as reliable and responsive to a small last l-minute adjustment. I loved getting the photos of Trina. I will definitely ask Lilly to care for Trina again!”

About: I have taken care of cats, dogs, Small animals like mice, guinea pigs, fish, turtles. All way to farm animals like sheep, goats and even horses. Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Wendell Depot. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Wendell Depot.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
