A friend recommended Steve to me and I’m so grateful. He was great with my two cats and made everything really easy. He was dependable and professional. He was also easy to communicate with and kept me updated. I felt comfortable knowing my sassy cats were in good hands. I’d definitely book with Steve again!

About: I've rescued four senior dogs and have done a lot of work to rehabilitate them physically and mentally. (one dog in home currently) I would love to come walk your fur child if you can't get home from work on time or if you need an overnight care situation - I got you! I keep your dog separate from my dog always, just to avoid any accidents! Currently working full time so I'm available after hours or weekends only. Would love to do a drop in at your place or an overnight if you needed, too. I live in a condo so I'm only able to visit you for drop-ins or sitting/walking services. I know when I go out of town, I hope to find someone just like me to care for my babes. You can trust I'll spend the time and share the most love.

About: Hi! I’m Tamara, and if your pet stays with me, they’ll be treated like family from the moment they walk through the door. ❤️ I’ve always had a soft spot for animals, and getting to care for them honestly doesn’t feel like work to me. Every pet has their own little personality, routines, and quirks, and I love getting to know what makes each one happy. Whether your dog loves long walks, endless games of fetch, or would rather spend the day snuggled up on the couch, I’m happy to meet them where they’re most comfortable. When you’re away, my goal is to make your pet feel as safe, loved, and stress-free as possible. I stick closely to their normal routine, follow every instruction carefully, and make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, playtime, and exercise based on their individual needs. I also know how hard it can be to leave your pet with someone else. That’s why I send lots of photo updates and messages throughout their stay so you never have to wonder how they’re doing. I want you to feel like you’re right there with them. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, their safety, happiness, and comfort always come first. I pay close attention to their behavior, make sure they have a clean and cozy environment, and treat them with the same love and patience I’d want for my own pets. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family member, and I hope to become someone you can count on whenever you need a trusted sitter!! I’m fortunate to have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets I care for. Whether we’re out for a walk, playing, or simply relaxing together, I love making sure every pet feels happy, comfortable, and cared for throughout the day. Since I’m home often, I’m also able to provide companionship and make sure pets aren’t left alone for long periods of time while their owners are away! Safety starts with understanding each pet as an individual. Before caring for a new pet, I take the time to learn their routine, personality, comfort level, and any important details from their owner. Knowing what is normal for each pet helps me provide better care and recognize when something may be different. In my home, I provide a calm and comfortable environment where pets can relax, play, and receive plenty of attention throughout the day. I have a large fenced yard with plenty of space for supervised outdoor time, play, and enrichment while still making sure each pet’s safety comes first. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their space with the same respect I would want for my own. I keep their routine consistent, follow instructions carefully, and make sure they feel comfortable in their familiar environment. I believe good pet care is about being attentive, patient, and proactive. I pay attention to changes in behavior, energy levels, eating habits, and overall well-being, and I keep owners updated so they always feel connected and informed!

About: I’m a caring and responsible pet lover with experience caring for cats, dogs, and lizards. I have two cats myself🐱. While I’m new to Rover, I regularly help my mom with her Rover pet sitting clients, which has given me hands on experience with feeding, playtime, walks, cleaning, and ensuring all pets feel safe and comfortable. I’m also experienced in kitten care as I have one myself. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow each pet’s routine and specific needs. I’m a full-time college student at Palm Beach State College, with my classes mainly in the mornings on Monday-Wednesday and Thursday starting in October. I’m available for pet care in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. My schedule allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care outside of my class hours. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my top priority. I’ll provide a calm, clean, and supervised environment while following their normal routine, feeding instructions, and any special needs. I’ll give them plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and affection so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away.🐱🐶❤️

About: I grew up with small dogs and had a 12 year old terrier mix who I sadly needed to put to sleep recently due to heart disease. I’ve taught Elementary school for 7 years. I love spending time with dogs and helping others. As a past dog mom, I know how important finding someone trustworthy is! You can expect clear communication and plenty of pictures. I work from home so I have plenty of time to spend at home with your dog(s). My schedule is usually flexible and I will help as much as I can. I typically care for dogs in their homes. Since my current rental doesn’t allow dogs, I’m happy to come to your home to dog sit or for a drop in visit!

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. Ever since I was young, I have been taking care of dogs. I had a Black lab and a pitbull. I also helped take care of my sister German Shepard and my friend pitbull. Dogs bring me joy so I would be doing something I love. I played baseball my whole life and also played at the division 1 level. I know what it's like to be in need of a great dog sitter because me and my family always had to travel for baseball. We were always nervous leaving out dog with others. I'm here to build trust with your dog and also your family. Have you guys super comfortable to leave your dog with me. I just graduated college, so I am looking for a side job while I figure out what I want to do with my degree. So as of right now my schedule is wide open and very flexible. Safety and trust are my number 1 priority; I want the dog to feel as he is at home. I have a huge, fenced backyard so every time a dog comes over, they have a blast running around, I make sure they are spoiled with love.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and have taken care of all sizes of dogs. I would love the chance to take care of your pup it would make me so happy and I’ll take such good care of him/her:) I have helped trained two puppies and also have taken care of my senior dog with all his meds and needs. With years of experience caring for pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior companions, I provide personalized and attentive care that sets me apart from other sitters. I have a deep understanding of animal behavior, which helps me cater to each pet’s unique needs—whether it’s offering special care for older pets with mobility issues or engaging young, playful animals with stimulating activities. I’m also experienced in administering medications and following specific dietary plans. My commitment to keeping pets comfortable and happy in their familiar routine ensures peace of mind for owners while they’re away. I’m currently working part time so I have lots of time to take your pup on a walk! I am available Monday - Sunday ! As a pet sitter, my care approach varies depending on whether I’m taking care of pets in my home or at my client’s home. Here’s an outline of my typical care routine for both scenarios: Caring for Pets in My Home: • Safe Environment: I create a pet-friendly space, ensuring there are no hazards (such as small objects or toxic plants) and provide a comfortable, clean area for the pets to relax and play. • Exercise & Playtime: Pets get regular exercise and play sessions based on their needs—whether that’s daily walks, interactive play, or simply cuddling and lounging. • Feeding & Hydration: I follow specific feeding instructions, including meal times, portions, and any special dietary needs. Fresh water is always available. • Sleep Arrangements: Pets have cozy, designated areas to rest, whether it’s a crate, bed, or blanket, depending on what they’re comfortable with. • Grooming & Hygiene: Regular grooming is provided, including brushing, cleaning eyes and ears, and ensuring litter boxes or potty areas are clean. • Health & Medication: If pets are on medication or need special care, I carefully administer treatments as per the owner’s directions. Caring for Pets in Client’s Home: • Home Security: I maintain the security of the home by following any specific instructions regarding entry and exit, locking doors, and managing alarms. • Familiar Environment: Pets get the comfort of being in their own home, which can reduce stress. I ensure their regular routine is followed as closely as possible. • Exercise & Feeding: Just like in my home, I ensure pets get their regular walks, exercise, feeding schedule, and playtime. This might also include activities like yard time or neighborhood strolls. • Mail & Plants: I often provide additional services such as collecting mail or watering plants, as requested by the client. • Updates: I send regular updates and photos to the owners to assure them that their pet is happy and well-cared for in their absence. Regardless of the location, my goal is to create a safe, loving environment for pets and maintain consistency in their care routine to keep them comfortable and happy.

About: I have owned a pet for over 16 years. I have learned my pets routine and needs, and excited to do that for yours next. My senior dog takes many medications and has a strict routine. Thus I have learned to work for her schedule. I work full-time, but I’m remote on Monday’s and Friday’s off on weekends. I have plenty of flexibility for weekend walks and drop-in visits! I am able to accommodate to your needs on my off day. I would treat my clients home like I would want someone to treat my home. With respect. I will enter in areas and use supplies I am allowed to use. I will not overstay my welcome and I plan on being clean and organized when entering in and out of their home or in my home.

About: I have watched several different breeds from all age ranges. Some have needed special foods, medication, and routines that I have accommodated for. I have taken care of small to large sized dogs. For cats I have a history of taking care of them. I work part time so I have availability. I can let them out to walk every 4-5 hours, can mostly fit my schedule to your needs. I provide pets with fresh food and water, regular exercise and playtime, a clean and safe environment, and plenty of attention. In a client’s home I follow their care instructions closely, including schedules, medication, walks, litter box or cage cleaning. Overall just keeping the pet comfortable when boarding or doing a drop-in visit. As for just walking I like to keep the dog leashed, give them 20-30 minutes of exercise, or longer like 45 for more high energy dogs.

About: Ever since I was 11 years old I took care of my parent’s animals. We had cats, dogs and even lizards. I have pet-sat for neighbors and family as well: rats, mice, and more. I’m a “cat charmer” that can handle even the shyest of animals. I work from home and need a reliable internet connection for overnight stays. I can easily stop by on weekends and after work to take care of all your pet’s needs. I can work any and all days of the week. I have a single acre with a fenced in yard. There are two dogs and 4 cats (3 with polydactyly) that love to run around and play. I also provide a healthy dose of cuddles as they all love to ask. (I happily oblige.)

Katie did a fantastic job caring for our two dogs. She was 100% reliable, prompt, and followed all of our instructions “to a T”. But most importantly, the dogs absolutely loved her — and that is saying a lot because they are both rescues (of course!) and our boy is actually very fearful and timid around new people. It was clear from the first meeting that Katie knows how to read canine body language and win over even scared or wary dogs. I felt totally comfortable leaving my babies in her capable hands, and she did not disappoint. She also assisted with the senior paraplegic foster dog we were caring for at the time of her visits, and was very capable of helping him to stand up and go potty using his special back-end lift harness, which can be a challenge for some people to get used to. In general, Katie went above and beyond and was super flexible and willing to accommodate our somewhat unusual needs. I wholeheartedly recommend her, as a loving, gentle, responsible and fully competent caretaker for dogs or cats of all ages, temperaments, and sizes. This is the pet sitter you want when only the best will do for your beloved four-legged family members!!

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Wellington with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wellington. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
