About: I’ve regularly helped friends, neighbors, and family members with pet sitting and dog walking. I understand how important routines, safety, and communication are, and I always make sure pets feel comfortable and cared for. I am available at anytime during the day and evening but the best is to let me know your desired hours and I will check my schedule. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pet in someone else’s care. I’m reliable, communicative, and attentive to each pet’s needs and personality. My goal is to help pets feel safe, happy, and loved while giving owners peace of mind.
“We are so happy to have found Karolina! She and our kitty seem to really love each other. She takes such good care of our house, and keeps our kitty happy while we are away. We have no worries when she is there.”

“Madison is fantastic! She took such good care of my pack! She made sure everyone ate, even though my Andy is scared to eat around people he isn’t very familiar with!! I will have Madison watch my boys every time we need a sitter!! Plus she left the house in immaculate shape - I couldn’t tell she was here!!”

“Jada was very friendly, and Libby was very excited to meet her. Libby seemed very happy in all the pics and Jada sent updates daily which is phenomenal. 10/10 highly recommend! Thank you for taking such great care of my girl Jada! 🐾❤️”

“Nicole did a great job with Max. I received daily updates with pictures/videos. Max is a scaredy cat and Nicole, thru her patience, was able to win him over, even though it was towards the end of the cat sitting. I will use her services again.”

“Angela is wonderful. She's caring and knowledgeable, and my dogs have become great friends with her dog Striker. I feel so lucky that I can leave my dogs and feel confident that they are in good hands. Thank you so much, Angela.”

About: I've had dogs in my life since I was 8 and all my dogs have shown great love towards me because I give them the full love back. I am known in the family as the family caretaker when our dogs get old and need special attention. The reason I take care of my dogs when they get older because I have the patience, attentions, and most of all, love in supporting them through their elderly stage. All pets deserve the best and I am more than happy to provide that! I am currently taking the year off from work to travel the world but in between my trips I have a lot of free time and feel it can be better spent taking care of pets while other people can enjoy trips or another activity that requires them to leave their pet at home. I have a 5-year old Havanese and I take him on walks daily, I make sure he is bathe at least once a month, and try to take him on as many trips so I can, so he can enjoy the world as much I as I do.
About: I grew up working on a farm! Not only am I familiar with training puppies and caring for cats, I also know my way around a barn. I have time in the early mornings and evenings to visit your pets! I am also able to house sit and provide daily exercise to any extent you need! I love to go on walks and adventuring in parks. But I also love just sitting on the couch with a dog or cat :) I am flexible and ready to meet whatever your pet needs!
About: I am a passionate animal lover who enjoys building a genuine connection with every companion animal I care for - from long walks to couch naps to extended belly rubs. I treat all animals like my own, and am quick to learn their needs so they feel comfortable during my watch. I work from home, so I will will spend the entire workday with your animal (in addition to all other responsibilities. I am very communicative, and I have been told I take great animal photos - so you will feel connected to them as you enjoy your travels away from home! As I mentioned above, I work from home so I plan to spend the entire work day with your furry friends. I will also spend as much additional time with them as they need to make sure they’re comfortable in your absence. I am very responsible when it comes to your needs and what will make you feel safe while I am watching your companions. I will follow any guidelines you leave for me, and I will treat your animals with the gentleness and respect they deserve. I am also respectful of your space, and my hope is that you return without knowing I was even staying in your home!
About: I’ve grown up taking care of all kinds of pets and I have a really big heart for all kinds of animals. I truly love animals and I am so excited to start watching them! Right now I am currently working only 5 times a week for about 4-6 hours each day. I have a very open schedule so I thought this would be an amazing opportunity to do what I love. I would need to know the personality of the pet I am watching to know how to handle it. But I would take care of your pets the way you would want me too
“Donna did a wonderful job looking after our older kitty for a couple nights. His (and our!) anxiety visibly lowered, thanks to her care, and we so appreciated the pictures she sent.”

“Brea was a wonderful house and pet sitter! She stayed at our home and cared for our pets for two weeks. She was patient and loving with our pup who is slow to warm up to new caregivers. We would definitely have Brea back as a house/pet sitter!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Welcome
McKale was AMAZING! Hands down the best dog/house sitter there is. She was soo communicative before and during our trip. She took extra time before our trip to meet us & our pup and asked all the right questions, which made me feel like she truly cared (which she does!). With a slightly reactive dog I had a lot of detailed notes for her, and after our first meeting I had full confidence in her. She sent us lots of photos upon our request and it looked like our pup really loved hanging out with her. She also left our house spotless, and went the extra mile to clean the bedding she used (and folded it nicely!). We are SO impressed with her & her services. I will absolutely use her for all pet/house sitting needs in the future.
Mckale was such an excellent pet sitter. She took wonderful care of my herd if five, even fighting off two off leash pitbulls that attacked my dog while on a walk. Additionally, Mckale left my house spotless, weeded my yard and watered my plants. All items above and beyond expected service. Finally, Mckale helped me out with only a day's notice, allowing me to get to my mother's side before she passed away. No thanks are enough for that. Needless to say, Mckale has my highest recommendation.

FAQs for House Sitting - Welcome
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 612 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Welcome. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Welcome walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Welcome maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Welcome choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Welcome. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
