Hi there! I live in Deming with my husband and we know how challenging it can be to find animal care out here in east Whatcom. We have an amazing property for dog boarding, and I have lots of experience sitting! I homestead full time on our property and work virtually part-time, making me available for all sorts of boarding/sitting requests. At home I care for our dogs, cat, chickens & other poultry, rabbits, and bees and I have varied experience with pigs, cattle, goats, and horses as well. My homesteading and small farm experience means I’m able to comfortably care for a variety of animals as well as do things like watering, harvesting, seedlings, etc that might need tending while you’re away. I’m a very capable caretaker, and myself (with my husband as backup!) are skilled and handy people who can steward your home through all the seasons out here. I’m mostly interested in serving east Whatcom County but am open to helping folks in town if they have animals or properties that need a sitter with specific skills. Please see below for additional details about Boarding and Sitting and photos of our property above :) *** Dog Boarding at Our Home *** Our property is a delight for dogs! We have 3 acres of fully fenced property, both with an invisible fence (optional) & a physical fence. Our property includes lawn, open field and a small tree grove & makes for a great place for dogs to run around or lie about in the sun in the grass! Our other farm animals are fenced off in a different area of the property and kept separate from where the dogs can roam. Dogs love coming here as there are tons of sights and smells, lots to explore, and other dogs to be with. Our two dogs, Dook and Frankie, have done many boardings with dogs of all sizes & abilities and get along great with all dogs! They’re both well-trained, well-socialized and are pretty old and lazy - they spend most of the day sleeping. They’re great “vibes” dogs: if your dog is playful and likes other dogs, they’ll happily run around with them; if your dog is not very sociable with other dogs, Dook & Frankie will give them space and leave them alone. Your dog(s) may meet & overlap with other dogs that I board as well. I don’t mix dogs until I’ve sat them before and know their personalities well, and all the dogs that do come here are sweetie pies! I can manage and accomodate dog medications, disabilities, and allergies, etc. Our house is kept very clean and our property well-maintained! I require a Meet and Greet with you & your dog at my house before accepting new boarding requests. I will not accept boardings of aggressive dogs or dogs with extreme behavioral issues. The safety of myself, my dogs, and the other dogs that I board is my utmost priority! *** House Sitting at Your Home *** I’m an excellent sitter for rural properties! We’ve been out in Deming for 10 years, and with that have all the experience of maintaining a house & property in all seasons. I’ve house sat during storms and winters - and the short or extended power outages that go with both! I can build fires, hookup generators, keep pipes from freezing, and tend to animals in any condition. Anything that I can’t do around the house my husband can! We make a great team and are used to observing and tending to the needs of a home. I can be with your dogs and other animals at your home during most of my stays. I may need to pop home to tend to my own animals or run an errand for a few hours, but will otherwise be there to ensure your dog has company & care! I’ve sat dogs of all sizes, personalities, and breeds. If you have other animals or site needs on your property, please just let me know and we can discuss!
