About: Daily routine to care for family pets after school ages 10-18 and 18-21 when family was traveling. I was a cat/dog sitter for previous neighbors and relatives. I have full availability for pet sitting, house sitting, dog walking or other pet services. I currently care for 2 cats at home on a daily basis. I take time to build trust with pets including sitting at their eye level and speaking to pets with a calm tone. About: I have had pets my whole life! My person experience includes: nursing my yellow lab back to health after a car accident, caring for and raising 9 puppies, giving medication to pups when they reach their later years, and living with a loving my roommates cat! I enjoy walks and hikes as much as I enjoy staying in and cuddling with more chill animals! I currently work as an observer for fishing vessels, which gives me long periods of time in Bellingham where I am very available, and when I’m out at sea I pause my account. I am unfortunately not able to house dogs, but I can transport them to park, walking trails, and can promise the dogs will be well loved and cared for the entire time!

About: I've been an animal person my whole life; from originally wanting to be a vet (decided to pivot due to the sadness that probably comes from being a vet) to caring for pets of my own. I've always felt I've been able to understand animals better than most people. I think it stems from my ability to innately understand their non-verbal communication. Hence, the Dolittle reference. A typical day in my home is calm, comfortable, and centered around the pet’s normal routine. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, have fresh water, a clean space, plenty of attention, and time to play or relax depending on their personality. I’m happy to follow any specific routines you have at home so your pet feels as comfortable and familiar as possible. I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box or potty breaks, playtime, and any special instructions from their owner. I also pay close attention to their behavior and comfort level, giving them plenty of affection when they want it and space when they need it.
About: I grew up working on a farm! Not only am I familiar with training puppies and caring for cats, I also know my way around a barn. I have time in the early mornings and evenings to visit your pets! I am also able to house sit and provide daily exercise to any extent you need! I love to go on walks and adventuring in parks. About: I’ve always had dogs growing up, dogs that have complicated medical needs to dogs that are lax and can do everything on their own. About: I grew up with dogs and love them! I can handle feedings, walks, play time, and so on. I can do pet meds on a case by case basis. I work full-time, and primarily remote. If local, I can do morning, midday, or/and evening check-ins and walks. I can do overnight care in pet’s home, if hypoallergenic dog :) If I have access to wifi to work remotely, I’m also happy to stay there during the day to let your pup out. You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
