“Dorothy always goes the extra mile when taking care of my 14 year old male cat. She carefully watches his food and fluid intake. She has worked hard to bond with him during th many prior bookings. Dorothy is the BEST!”

“Amanda was wonderful! She flexed with our plans and sent plenty of great pictures of our dogs which we always enjoy receiving from our sitters. Highly recommend her services!”

“Thomas spent some time with Lola, longer than he had too. She’s not often left alone so Thomas’s visit was perfect to ensure her that we did not abandon her. He sent me pics and updates. He engaged with her managed to get through to her stubborn side to “go potty”. It was a last minute booking and Thomas was prompt to reply. Lola was content and happy when my husband returned home. He and Michelle are my go-to sitters;)”

“Elana is very professional and caring. We were very fortunate to have booked her last minute before a holiday weekend. She was promt with all her visits, sent us loads of pictures of her snuggling and playing with our babies each time, and we had no concerns they were in good hands. Elana kept great communication as well. We won't hesitate to ask her to sit for us again. Highly recommend!!”

“Valerie is awesome, she’s very attentive and knowledgeable about dogs. Highly recommend her. She sent us pictures and even went so far as to observe their bowl movements to see how their health was while we were gone. I will be using her in the future whenever we travel!”

“Jennifer took great care of my not 1 not 2 but 3 doggos!! She kept me updated with pictures and played with them throughout the drop in visits!! She handled all of my 3 doggos personalities! My small young yapaholic, my oldest protector, and my chungus who chills! I recommend her greatly and will for sure do it again!”

“Nina was very kind and communicative about Chief when we needed someone to let him out a few times when we were out of town for the day. We would for sure book with her again:)”

About: I have 20 years of pet care experience and have cared for cats, dogs, reptiles, fish, and other animals throughout my life. I’m comfortable with a wide range of personalities and routines, and I always focus on providing calm, reliable, and loving care. Every pet I care for is treated with patience, attention, and respect. I’m a realtor who works from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive pet care. If I ever need to step out for an appointment or something unexpected comes up, I always communicate ahead of time so you know what to expect. Other than that, I’m wide open for early morning-late evening visits and can work around your pet’s routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, caring environment and always follow your instructions closely so your pet can stay on their normal routine. I’m dependable, communicative, and committed to treating every pet and home with respect and care.

“Devin was absolutely wonderful. Not only was she consistent and kind, she followed instructions to a T. Despite us having a difficult situation to manage with dogs in the same household that don't get along and can be destructive, she made sure everyone was safe and cared for. She administered meds as requested and was even able to handle a neighborhood dog charging our reactive dog on a walk. I have full confidence she can handle any situation she faces with aplomb.”

“Hannah was great with my cat. She not only fed her and cleaned her litter box daily, but also played with her on each visit. The daily photo updates were wonderful— they gave me peace of mind knowing that my furry friend was being looked after so well. An excellent experience!”

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was 10 years old. It was just family dogs until I turned 14 and then I started branching out and dog sitting for my neighbors and family friends. I have plenty of experience with crate training, potty training and much more. I'm currently working as a substitute teacher but I am available on weekends to house sit, and during weekdays I can stop by in the mornings before I leave for work, then in the afternoon when I'm done with work. Usually around 2:30-4:30 pm. And as many more times as need be. I don't usually keep pets at my house but I can if need be. I have 2 very friendly dogs. One is a black lab and the other is a schnauzer. I do also have a cat and he's friendly but he mainly just keeps to himself. I have a big fenced in backyard and 2 crates in diffrent sizes if they need to be put in a crate. I also have plenty of dog toys and tennis balls if they enjoy playing fetch.
“This was my first time using Rover because I wasn’t sure if I would be okay with someone being in home without us, but Caitlin was awesome! She was very reliable, punctual, and continuously communicated with me the entire time. She loved on Shaka, took pictures, and sent them to me, which made me feel even better. I would definitely use her again. Thanks so much Caitlin and Happy Holidays to you and your family!!!”

“Monica was such a blessing to me to take care of my Maddi during my long work hours. She provided lots of pictures and videos during her visits and always communicated clearly to me. Monica took good care of Maddi and gave her lots of love!🩷”

“I really appreciate Mary for coming over to my house and helping with our pup. Her consistency really helped with this stressful week. She even took 1-2 pictures with every visit.”

“Sachiho was a wonderful kitty nanny to our six babies while we were away! She always gave them lots of attention and sent sooo many pictures every single day! We feel very appreciative and will absolutely be using her from now on!”

“Highly recommend!!! Meaghan not only accepted a pet sit for me on short notice but was a great communicator, kind and kept us informed. She was also super punctual and thoughtful about the meds she was giving and what our dogs needed. I had great peace of mind knowing she was caring for our babies while we were out of town.”

It was a PLEASURE to have Nicole drop in on our baby, Maverick while we were out of town. Our usual sitter was unavailable for our last minute trip and I scrambled trying to find someone right before having to leave. Nicole was available to meet right away and she took the best care of him. I could tell from the moment he met her that he would love her. All of his check in pics had a huge smile on his little face lol We’ll definitely be booking with Nicole again in the future!

Jasmin agreed to watch our cats for two weeks while we went on vacation. I was quite nervous as it was our first time using rover and we have some finicky cats. I was very worried initially as i have a senior cat with some health issues and my other is very shy and quick to refuse food when stressed. She was very confident when we met her and when we introduced her to the cats both of them immediately took to her. This was a first for us as again my one cat has never been so friendly upon meeting someone for the first time but I genuinely believe it was because she has a fantastic personality and animal handling skills. For two weeks she was prompt and clear with her communication and took great photos that made me feel comfortable about my cats' condition. Of course, there were also funny moments she was able to capture which really put me at ease. She was able to identify their patterns of behavior and made notes on it. I appreciate her thoughtfulness on refilling their litter and water fountain. The most memorable thing she did for us was when we were delayed an extra day coming back for our vacation she was completely understanding and agreed to watch the cats on such extremely short notice. If I ever have to get a pet sitter again I know that she will be my first choice going forward. Thank you Jasmin!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
