“Julie was absolutely amazing! She is extremely responsive and took great care of our pup. Thanks for helping us out and walking our fuzzy kid! I would use again in a second!”
“Kami has been great on her weekly walks with our pup June. She communicates in advance and leaves detailed recaps of their adventure. She shows up for our pup rain or shine. She’s been great with our dog and an all around accountable and trustworthy walker!”

“Excellent, so helpful. Very friendly, constant communication and photos! She took care of our baby and even offered to bring her treats & brought up our garbage cans! 10/10 would recommend!”

“My 2 large dogs came back from a walk so pooped out and happy! Auggie (John) was very professional, had a huge smile on his face each time he greeted me and seemed to genuinely care for my mutts. I will definitely be using his services again!”

About: I've lived with animals my entire life. Growing up, we had five dogs, four cats, bunnies and guinea pigs, snakes and lizards, fish, and chickens. Currently, while living at home in the summers, we have snakes, lizards, spiders, a cat, and three dogs, one of which is mine. My dog Winston is a service dog in training that my mom and I are owner-training. While I'm in no way a professional trainer, I can help with teaching or maintaining the basics with any dog. I'm currently home for the summer from school and waiting on an application for a part-time job. I am free most of the day right now, as I haven't started working yet. So, I can come over and take care of any pet's needs most any time. I can take care of your animals' needs any time, whether it's taking them on a walk, letting them outside, feeding, cleaning up, or playing with them. My dogs at home are crate trained, so if your dog also stays in a crate at certain points of the day or night, I can easily crate them.
“I had to change the date last minute and Tara was extremely understanding and responded to the new date within minutes. She’s arrived early to meet Jax and stayed later to play with him. I appreciated the extra time she spent with him and he didn’t want her to leave”

About: Experienced dog, cat, and reptile caregiver. I am used to multi-day/night pet sitting and enjoy taking them for walks and to see nature. Experience with senior dogs and puppies. I am currently unemployed planning for college at UW-Milwaukee in the fall. Looking for part time work but would love to continue to prioritize dog sitting. Experienced with harnesses, leashes, and free roaming yard dogs. Attentive and alert as my own dog is on heart medication affecting bladder control. Consistent monitoring and supervision when expected for your furry friend(s)!
“Jenny was so kind to my puppy. My puppy loved walking with her, she took Streator care of him and he came back happy and tired. She was great about stopping for water breaks on a hot day. She was also so flexible when I had a last minute schedule change. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats my entire life and have experience caring for pets of all sizes, from small breeds to large dogs. I am comfortable feeding, walking, playing with, and providing companionship for pets, as well as following any specific care instructions. As a previous pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to make sure animals feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I am responsible, dependable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Pet care fits well into my schedule. I am available during most weekdays for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I coach youth basketball in the evenings and occasionally have weekend tournaments, but I plan my schedule carefully and communicate availability clearly to ensure pets receive consistent, reliable care and attention. I live in a gated community with a secure, fenced dog park that provides a safe space for dogs to exercise and play. I also have two friendly cats in my home. If a pet is staying with me for boarding, I can keep them separated from my cats if needed to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety. Having owned dogs and cats throughout my life, I understand the importance of creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment. I follow owners’ instructions carefully, prioritize pet safety, and treat every pet with the same care and attention I would give my own.
About: I’ve watched cats and dogs in various sizes from 5 pounds to 200! I know how to train puppies and I’m ready to put in any work needed to make every animal my best friend and give them the care and attention they deserve! I’m currently only working part time on weekends so I have plenty of time to take care of your pets! I’m ready to walk, play, cuddle and take care of your best buds! I always respect others homes and try to leave everything as it was. Animals are so comfortable in their home and I always want to keep that and make sure they are happy and safe!
“Ava continues to be amazing with our dog! He’s had some health issues, and she’s been super patient and gentile with him as well as patient with us through quite a few schedule changes due to vet visits.”

“We are super thankful to Ramsey for stepping up to our request of walking our pup, pretty last minute. She was very communicative, punctual, and sent pictures & details of her walks with our Jetta. We would definitely use Ramsey again!! THANK YOU!!”

About: Hi, I'm Max! I've been a pet lover ever since I was a kid. Currently, I take care of my childhood dog, Jordy, who's about 19 years old and has several health issues. He's a sweet loving rescue dog, and I wouldn't trade him for the world. I am experienced with giving dogs medications, both liquid and solid, and cleaning them as needed. I understand that every dog has their own needs, and I am willing and able to give every dog the love they need, want, and deserve. PLEASE NOTE: Starting September through December of 2026, I will be booked every Tuesday afternoon & evening, as well as all day every Wednesday. I just graduated from Carthage College, so I have the entire summer to care for your pet! Whether that means staying overnight or walking them a few times a day, I'm ready to give them the care they need. I will make sure your pet is safe and secure in your home, making sure physical boundaries are maintained and secure. A safe pet is a happy pet!
About: Hi! I’m currently in graduate school for social work and am looking to get back into pet sitting and dog walking during my freetime which is something that I have enjoyed in the past. I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels and understand that each pet has their own routine and needs. Whether it’s going for walks, feeding, playing, or simply keeping your pet company, I’m happy to provide reliable and attentive care. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pet!! I work second shift as a clinical coach at a rehabilitation center which gives me availability during the morning, early afternoons, and on many weekends. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow your pet’s normal routine, carefully follow any instructions you provide, and make sure they have plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I treat every home with respect, keep pets secure at all times, and provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident they’re happy and well cared for while you’re away

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
