“When I had to leave a special needs dog to take a quick business trip, Ashley’s skills and background really stood out. I was able to get away while knowing that my dog was safe and loved. The entire family went above and beyond to make sure that he felt that way too!”

“Victoria was absolutely wonderful to work with. She sent pictures and videos of our dog and my son's cat every day during our vacation. Both were happy to see us when we picked them up and it was obvious they were well cared for. VIctoria was immensely patient with our Irish Setter puppy who has lots of energy and my son's cat who is a recluse. 100% will be using her again for out of town trips!”

“Augusta is so kind and I appreciate her taking great care of my baby boy. She communicates well and sends picture updates which are much appreciated. My Russy feels comfortable at her home and I’m grateful for Augusta’s hospitality. 😊”

“Tia and her family are so sweet with my pup, and were so accommodating when it was unclear if my flight would return on time / whether my heat would be working upon my return. Tia is our go-to Rover sitter because of how communicative and kind she is!”

“We booked with Sarah last minute after she was recommended to us and she was so understanding and accommodating even with the short notice! Will absolutely use her again in the future! ♥️”

“Monica and her family exceeded our expectations in taking care of our babies. From the get go Monica was very professional and diligent in understanding our dogs needs, schedules, etc. She sent us daily updates and photos, which were so nice to see as this was our first time using Rover. They always seemed to come at a great time when we thought “I hope they’re doing okay and we miss them” Overall our experience was a 10/10, our dogs had an amazing time, and we will absolutely use Monica again!”

“Elizabeth was a great choice to care for my dog Dunkin! She let him make himself right at home in her space and sent consistent pictures and updates allowing me to have great peace of mind while away. Would recommend!”

“Raeann is truly the best. She cares for Bronn as if he were her own. She always sends lots of updates and pictures (which as anxious dog mom I appreciate immensely). I could not recommend her enough and Bronn is looking forward his next visit!”

“Our schedule was erratic and included my mistake in scheduling. Sima and her family were gracious hosts and worked with our schedule. I received updates on how our doggo was doing everyday. It has been a pleasure working with them, I would definitely consider them next time we are in town.”

“Pet boarding requires a lot of trust, and there’s no one else in Pittsburgh that I’d trust more to care for dog than Mike. He takes great care, ensures plenty of active time outdoors, and always keeps me updated on how my pet is doing during stays. When I return, my dog looks like she is right at home, so I know she always enjoys the company of Mike, Roxy, Norm, and the family. Absolutely recommend booking with Mike”

“Amanda and Jack were absolutely amazing! My girl, Onyx, had an issue with her elbow, and they handled the situation with incredible care, compassion, and professionalism. They kept me updated with photos throughout her stay, which gave me tremendous peace of mind, and they even took her on a nature hike so she could enjoy some time outdoors. It's clear they genuinely care about the animals they look after. I highly recommend Amanda's services and wouldn't hesitate to trust them with Onyx again!”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life but my first job years ago in high school was at a veterinary hospital/ boarding. Because I was still in high school I was mainly in the kennels taking care of all the wonderful fur babies while their parents were out of town. Also, after informing the doctors that I was aspiring to become a vet, they allowed me to put on some scrubs and help out occasionally. I quickly realized that I was going to find a different way to care for animals 😂 Since then I have raised my own dogs and cared for animals of friends and family and have worked a few jobs at doggie daycares. I am an early riser because of my job so if your fur baby is too, they will fit right in! I work construction so I will be out for a portion of the day, but my wife works from home so her and our two pups will always be there to keep your baby company and make them feel right at home! At my house, no where is off limits for a furry friend. We can do anything to accommodate your fur babies to make sure they’re comfortable with their stay and you can have peace of mind that they will be happy and safe while you are away!

About: Myself and my little boys are loving animals lovers. Have your fur babies visit our little farm. We have a kitten twos goats and chickens I work full time from home so I’m able to be tentative to all four babies throughout the days and weekend, daily play time is a must! We have farm family and two boys that will keep your babies active. It is not fences in but our home is far away from the road with lots of room to roam
“Took great care of Khoda; Spent time with him, took him for walks, kept me updated daily with photos of him, he definitely did not want to come back home lol Thank you again for taking care of my dog and ensuring his attention-needs were met. I'll definitely be in contact for future trips/vacations, I know he can't wait to come back and see his human and dog friends again!”

“Cassandra watched our lab for 2 nights and it seemed to go off without a hitch! So glad we have found her and trust her to take good care of our pup! Our dog came home tired and well cared for! We will definitely use Cassandra again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
